- One of these storylines portrays the struggles of a lesbian character, Gabby. Gabby's partner has a son, whom Gabby has adopted. Their family of three is largely accepted by most characters, except Gabby's mother who strongly disapproves of Gabby's relationship and refuses to acknowledge her daughter's sexuality. However, throughout the course of the film, several incidents occur which causes her to change her mind.
