Ready for some Genius casting news? Oscar Winner Geoffrey Rush has been tapped to play Albert Einstein in National Geographic Channel’s first-ever scripted series, TVLine has learned. Additionally, actor-musician Johnny Flynn, who starred in the Comedy Central series Brotherhood, will play Young Einstein in the 10-episode drama.
Billed as an anthology drama, Genius will focus on a different innovator each season, with the famous physicist up first. Ron Howard, whose Imagine TV is producing, is set to direct the first episode.
This marks Rush’s first major TV role stateside.

After the image above began circling around the net, many fans assumed that Academy Award-winning actor J.K. Simmons must have been getting into such great shape for his upcoming role as Commissioner James Gordon in Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie, but as it turns out, Simmons is simply a gym beast 24/7.
During an interview with Business Insider, the Whiplash star was asked if he’d packed on the muscle to play a more physical take on Gordon than we’re used to seeing, and responded that he’s been keeping himself in great shape for many years and the timing of photo was just a complete coincidence.
After the second and final time that I got hugely fat in my life and when I lost that weight six or seven years ago, I pretty much decided that I was going to stay in decent shape for the rest of my life.
