There is a poster on the wall of the alley which shows the diagram of a flux capacitor from Back to the Future (1985) and the writing on it says "DeLorean" in Aurebesh (the main alphabet in Star Wars).
In The Time of the Doctor (2013), the Eleventh Doctor asks 'Handles', his traveling companion at the time, to remind him to redirect the telephone through the main console unit. This is the first episode in which we see that that has been done.
