When Celine Dion returned to the stage at Caesars Palace on May 22 for her first concert since undergoing ear surgery two months ago, she told her adoring fans, "I have to admit, I can barely stand on my feet tonight as I am a little bit nervous." The Las Vegas crowd had no trouble leaping to their feet for multiple standing ovations, though, confirming the Grammy winner is back and better than ever. In March, Celine, 50, shocked her fans when she revealed she was suffering from Patulous Eustachian tube, a disorder that caused hearing irregularities and made it difficult for her to sing. But, her first post-surgery performance allayed their fears. Céline performed 'Ashes', from the @deadpoolmovie, live for the first time last night on her return on stage at @thecolosseumatcaesarspalace ! // Céline chantait pour la première fois en live la chanson "Ashes" du film #Deadpool2 hier soir lors...

Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds are both known for passionately promoting their films on social media, but Leslie Uggams, who stars alongside Reynolds in “Deadpool,” says that’s where the comparisons end.
In a New York Times feature published this past week, Uggams, who plays Deadpool’s elderly roommate Blind Al, says Reynolds is a very reserved man in real life; quite unlike the charismatic Johnson and especially unlike the loudmouth mutant anti-hero he is most famous for playing.
“Offstage, he’s not bigger than life,” Uggams said. “He’s not like the Rock. When the Rock walks in the room, I’m sure it’s like, ‘Oh, my God, the Rock.’ But that’s not Ryan. He’s not Mr. Hollywood.”

Reynolds agreed with this description of himself, telling the Times that the stark difference between his actual personality and the characters he plays has surprised many of his fans long before he started doing superhero movies. He notes that back in 2002, he was met by excited party animals who saw him in the National Lampoon college comedy “Van Wilder,” only to be surprised when he turned out to be “this incredibly boring version of a guy who looked like their hero.”
“When the curtain opens, I turn on this knucklehead, and he kind of takes over and goes away again once I walk off set,” he said. “That’s that great self-defense mechanism.”

That “self-defense mechanism” has made Reynolds into one of the most popular actors on social media, as he has regularly sent out tweets as Deadpool ever since the antihero’s big screen debut became a smash hit two years ago. Most recently, Reynolds fired out a tweet congratulating “Avengers: Infinity War” for setting the new box office opening weekend record by showing a picture of a letter denying Deadpool’s application to join the Avengers.
“Deadpool 2,” which hits theaters May 18, is expected to match the opening weekend set by the first “Deadpool,” which made a then-February record $132 million in 2016. The film went on to become one of the highest-grossing R-rated films ever released with $783 million worldwide.

What’s a major motion picture without a love theme performed by Celine Dion? Nothing, that’s what. That’s why “Deadpool 2” enlisted the powerhouse vocalist to sing its super-earnest original ballad, “Ashes.” But is it “too good”? That’s what Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) tells Dion at the end of the music video (watch above). “This is ‘Deadpool 2,’ not ‘Titanic,'” he reminds her, so she should just “phone it in.”
Dion, of course, was well known in the 1990s for recording songs for hit films, including the Oscar winning title song from “Beauty and the Beast” (1991) and “My Heart Will Go On” from “Titanic” (1997), and the Oscar nominated “Because You Loved Me” from “Up Close and Personal” (1996). “Deadpool” is known for its self-aware meta-humor, breaking the fourth wall to crack jokes directly to the audience, so it seems almost inevitable that the foul-mouthed superhero would perform an...

If you thought it was actually Ryan Reynolds under that Deadpool costume dancing in Celine Dion’s music video in heels, you were wrong.
“Ever wonder, ‘How does Ryan Reynolds dance so beautifully? Did he have 8 bones surgically removed from his body in order to move as if a graceful swan had sex with Fred Astaire?'” Reynolds said on Instagram. “The answer may surprise you. Yes. I did have 8 bones removed from my body. But the dancing was all @yanismarshall.”
On Thursday, a music video was released for Dion’s new song, “Ashes,” which is featured on the official “Deadpool 2” soundtrack, was released.

Wearing high heels and his red costume, Deadpool performs an interpretative dance complete with twirls and sashays. But the video ends up being “too perfect,” and Deadpool tells the iconic singer that they have to redo it, and that she needs to tone it down a bit.
Yanis Marshall, who was a Britain’s Got Talent 2014 finalist and is known for his intricate heels choreography, played Deadpool in the video. On Friday, Marshall took to Instagram to share his excitement of working with Reynolds.

Now there’s a headline we didn’t expect to write today…
For his latest promo (see below), Marvel’s meta king Wade Wilson has tapped Céline Dion for Deadpool 2, which will feature the power ballad “Ashes” in its official soundtrack.
This music video, if you can call it one, features every melodramatic trope imaginable, along with an interpretive dance routine featuring Deadpool – in stilettos! – and Dion that plays over a new reel of footage from the upcoming sequel. So when he’s not performing a musical duet with the pop queen, up above you’ll see ‘Pool sharing the screen with his muse, Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), and the fire-wielding mutant he’s sworn to protect, Russell (Julian Dennison).
In related news, it seems Ryan Reynolds has been quietly tempting Hugh Jackman out of X-retirement for a possible crossover, even if he fully admits that the Aussie actor is having none of it,...

Céline Dion, the queen of blockbuster-movie ballads, unveiled her latest belter, "Ashes," which is set to appear in – of all films – Deadpool 2.
The song arrives with a music video packed with every melodramatic trapping imaginable. Dion performs the powerhouse cut on a stage in an empty theater, while slow-motion footage from Deadpool 2 is interspersed throughout. Halfway through, a string quartet appears on stage, as does Deadpool, who accompanies Dion's performance with an interpretive dance routine.

In the past, Céline Dion has leant her vocals to several soundtracks, including Beauty and the Beast and Titanic—and now, she's going balls to the walls for Deadpool 2. "Over the years I've received incredible songs and I've been involved in fun projects. 'Ashes' is 1 of those songs and @deadpoolmovie is off-the-charts!" the 50-year-old entertainer tweeted. "Take the most insane ride of your life when it opens on 5/18! You'll be laughing your 'ashes' off! — Céline xx." The video shows Dion center stage, belting her heart out to an empty theater, all while the Merc With a Mouth himself—a.k.a. Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds)—dances around her in heels!...

Update: The song is called "Ashes," although I petition for it to be called "Effort Maximal."
Regardless of how well Deadpool 2 does with audiences, its latest song is award-worthy. That's not a joke, by the way, because I'm dead serious when I say Celine Dion's "Effort Maximal," might just be The ultimate superhero theme. The music video is definitely a piss take, but the song itself I can see becoming a hit song without question. Honestly, you'll just have to hear it to believe it, but I'm thinking this song is the new "Kiss From A Rose." Check it out below, and let us know what you think:
