Shot in a single day in the bathroom of a strip club. The bathroom was closed for renovations, so ironically, at the time of filming, the bathroom set didn't function as an actual bathroom. The production also had to wrap by a single to accommodate the club opening and the dancers arriving.
The child actor wasn't given the full context of the nature of the scene he was in, although his mother was, as she was the one who signed off on it. Additionally, Michael Lake delivered his line as "Get the DUCK out" and replaced it with the proper line in an ADR session, so he wouldn't have to swear in front of the child.
Michael Lake didn't realize until after filming one of his lines of dialogue was intended to be a double-entendre. Worrying that he had botched the delivery, this line was re-recorded in post-production.
There is an allusion made to a character named "Anthony Daniels". Michael Lake thought this was a reference to the actor who plays C-3PO in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), but the director insisted it was just a coincidence.
