Former vice president Joe Biden shared an emotional moment with Meghan McCain on “The View” Wednesday. McCain told Biden that she couldn’t get through the part of his book, “Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose,” which covered his son, Beau Biden’s, struggle with brain cancer. McCain’s father, Sen. John McCain, was diagnosed with the same form of brain cancer six months ago. “I think about Beau almost every day and I was told — sorry — that this doesn’t get easier but that you cultivate the tools to work with this and live with this,...

Joe Biden comforted The View co-host Meghan McCain on the show Wednesday after she got emotional while talking to him about his late son Beau Biden, who died of brain cancer, and her father John McCain, who is fighting the disease. Joe, 75, appeared on the show to promote his new memoir, Promise Me, Dad, which focuses on Beau. The former vice president and Democratic leader's son, the eldest of his four children who served as Delaware's attorney general, died in 2015 at age 46. John, the 81-year-old Republican Senator of Arizona, was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer this past July. "I couldn't get through your book; I tried. Your son Beau had the same...

Joe Biden is still trying to do right by his son.
The former Vice President gets emotional on his upcoming appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show while discussing his new book, Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship and Purpose, which he wrote about his late son, Beau Biden.
"I'm going to sound like a typical dad, but I wanted people to know what a remarkable son my son, Beau Biden, was," Biden explains. "I wanted to write about what an incredible man he was, and what a relationship he had with his brother, a year and a day younger, and his sister, and how he really built this family of mine."
Beau died in May 2015 of brain cancer. He was 46 years old. During his Ellen appearance set to air on Monday, Biden says that he hopes his book will inspire others find a "purpose" after going through tough times of their own.

It was a reveal that had been long on the cards – remember when Ned Stark first teased the identity of Jon’s mother all the way back in Game of Thrones season 1? – but on Sunday’s finale, “The Dragon and the Wolf,” director Jeremy Podeswa revealed the truth: Jon Snow has been a Targaryen all this time.
Expertly woven into the impassioned love scene between Daenerys and Kit Harington’s King of the North, season 7’s final episode confirmed Jon Snow to be the trueborn son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, who actually staged a super-secret wedding that was only uncovered when Samwell Tarly (read: Gilly) visited the Citadel.
It’s certainly ruffled a few feathers among the Game of Thrones community, while the cast members have some thoughts of their own. Per EW, series stalwarts Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) and Kit Harington (Jon Snow) shared their reactions to season...

Barry received a taste of the future on The Flash Season 3 Episode 19 "The Once and Future Flash."
And to say it wasn't pretty would be the biggest understatement ever.
Because in 2024, Team Flash was in shambles, having never recovered from Iris' death or Caitlin's transformation.
In other words, the ladies need to survive in order for the team to be whole.
Except Barry's continually finding himself in a position where he can't save both of them. He chose to go to the future immediately rather than track down Killer Frost after she made a mess of the lab, and nearly killed Julian, Cisco, and H.R.
If he'd stayed they might have been able to find Killer Frost and coax Caitlin back out before Savitar arrived with his tempting offer.
However, if Barry hadn't rushed to the future, he might not have a potential lead.

There's some supernatural activity happening on the mountain.
It's been hinted at in the past, but Outsiders Season 2 Episode 8 confirmed it. Here I was, thinking G'Win was going to be the latest casualty before the hour was over.
Physically and emotionally, she was done earlier in the episode. She was practically handing her title over to Foster while making him promise to keep the darkness at bay.
G'win: Foster, listen to me. When I go, that oak will be yours again, and you have changed. I've seen it, but the darkness is still there, too. So, I'm afraid Foster, that if you lead us again, more blood will be spilled. So, promise me. When that oak is in your hand, that you will keep the darkness at bay.
Foster: Well, don't go and I won't have to.

We’re more than halfway through this first season of Legion now, and we’re starting to understand how David’s mutant mind works (and doesn’t work). But this week’s episode threw a few new curveballs at us… including a truly Wtf moment at the end that threatened to take us all the way back to square one.
David and Syd bring a wounded Kerry back to Summerland so Cary can patch up his bodymate. And David has a newfound confidence — you could even call it arrogance — after rescuing Syd.

Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you haven’t watched Thursday’s Nashville. You will regret it.
The curtains have closed for one of Nashville’s stars.
On Thursday’s heartbreaking episode of the country music drama, ominously titled “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) took her last breath, flatlining after succumbing to complications from injuries she suffered during the shocking car accident. But it didn’t always look like Rayna was knocking on death’s door.
Everything seemed to be going as well as it could be for Rayna following the crash and subsequent surgery. While recovering at the hospital, Rayna and Deacon (Charles Esten) begin working on a song -- “a coda,” if you will -- for his unfinished album. “That last little thing you hear. It suddenly makes everything make sense. That’s what the song should be,” Rayna suggests.

Mid-season openers are often hit-or-miss. It can take a while to get back into a show and to remember what you loved about it.
Not so with Law & Order: Svu Season 18 Episode 7, which offered pathos, tension, and a serious real-life issue treated with the gravity it deserves without being depressing.
I have to admit that this was one of the rare cases where the actual episode was much better than the preview, which showed only Carisi being held at gunpoint by a perp. The cop in danger trope has been used an awful lot on Svu recently and yet another cop-taken-hostage situation didn't sound all that appealing.
That part of the story actually only took about 10 minutes, and they were tense, gripping, and inevitable once the plot unfolded.
The actual story was about a girl, Quinn, who was stalked by multiple men, raped, and eventually taken hostage and almost killed.

Spoilers Ahead For The "Game Of Thrones" Season 6 Finale
There are many moments within the sixth season finale of HBO's "Game of Thrones" that people are still talking about, one of them being Bran's flashback.
In the scene, a young Ned Stark reaches the top of a tower where his sister Lyanna has given birth to a baby - the boy who would become Jon Snow. It's made clear Jon is not actually the bastard son of Eddard Stark, but rather his legitimate nephew. Yet the identity of Jon's actual father isn't said outloud, rather Lyanna says something in hushed words to Ned - the sound mix deliberately masking most of them.
Leave it to fans to take the scene and play with the audio to find out what she said. Games Radar has done just that, their audio enhancements revealing that the character utters the following line: "His name is .... If Robert finds out,...

The season 6 finale of Game of Thrones finally confirmed the long-standing fan theory that Jon Snow was not actually the bastard son of Eddard Stark, but his sister Lyanna and (presumably) Rhaegar Targaryen. During the powerful flashback scene we see the dying Stark girl ask Ned to promise to take care of the boy, though most of what she whispers to him is too low to decipher. But, thanks to Games Radar enhancing the audio, we have a much better idea of her final words. "His name is .... If Robert finds out, he'll kill him. You know he will. You have to protect him. Promise me Ned. Promise me." Robert is obviously the new king Robert Baratheon, but what about Jon's true name? Though we can't make it out on the audio, a Reddit user reckons she's deciphered it after watching the scene "fifty times at least", and claims it's actually Jaehaerys.

Drew Hodges is at a loss for words. Asked if he’s surprised at the life he’s leading -- did he imagine he’d grow up to fly around the world orchestrating scenes with great actors and artists for his own wildly influential agency -- he pauses three entire seconds. “I wish I had an answer for you,” he says. “It's like, Come for the veal, stay for the floor show.”
You might not know Drew Hodges’ name, but if you’ve enjoyed some form of popular culture in the past decade, you’re living in a world he helped create. "When I started, the idea of theater was still very much that ‘fabulous invalid’ thing," he says, “sort of dying, old, kind of nostalgic. I was lucky enough to work on a lot of stuff that started to chip away at that."

Kill the boy, and let the dragon man be born. Jon Snow returned in "Game of Thrones" Season 6, Episode 2, "Home." As many of us expected, after Melisandre showed up at The Wall in the Season 5 finale, Mel was involved in reviving him. She doesn't know it worked yet, though, and neither does anyone else. Except Ghost.

Yep, it's aliiiiiiiiiive. Jon's not quite as much of a Frankenstein's monster as Cersei's Mountain pet Robert Strong, but he's also maybe not quite a god. Then again... Azor Ahai?
Speaking of kill the boy, and being stabbed to death, Ramsay Bolton was in classic Ramsay form this week, stabbing his father Roose Bolton to death (he should've added "for the Watch" or "the Starks send their regards") and setting his dogs on both Walda Frey Bolton (we were rooting for you,...

The film that was most shrouded in mystery going into the 2016 SXSW Film Festival was undoubtedly Fede Alvarez’s Don’t Breathe, his sophomore directorial effort and first film since 2013’s Evil Dead. The highly intense thriller stars Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette and Daniel Zovatto as a trio of thieves who break into a blind man’s home (portrayed by Stephen Lang) and quickly find out just why their plan to rob him was ill-conceived. Daily Dead had the opportunity to speak with Alvarez the day after the premiere of Don’t Breathe and he discussed reuniting with Levy and working with Lang to create the film’s ferociously unstoppable villain.
Last night, you said that you really appreciated being involved with a movie that hasn’t had the opportunity to be overhyped. It was really fun to experience Don’t Breathe without knowing much because it added a lot to the experience.

Beau, who served as the 44th Attorney General of Delaware from January 2007 to January 2015, died last May at age 46. He was diagnosed with brain cancer nearly two years prior and was hospitalized in serious condition a week before his death.
