- A two-part adaptation of the Iain Banks novel of the same name, "Stonemouth" is a rite of passage tale set in the fictional Aberdeenshire village of Stonemouth which follows Stewart Gilmour (Christian Cooke), who returns to the village for his best friend's funeral. Run out of town a year earlier by his girlfriend's family, Stewart is forced to face up to his own past whilst uncovering the sinister truth behind his friends apparent suicide.—KDMacD
- Two years after fleeing girlfriend Ellie's vengeful brothers who saw him kiss another woman young Stewart Gilmour returns from London to his home town Stonemouth for the funeral of his friend Callum, the only one of Ellie's brothers who did not hate him and who saved his life when they were boys. Callum apparently jumped to his death from a bridge having made a troubling call to Stewart - who suspects that the death is suspicious, especially after a cryptic comment from Callum's younger sister Grier. He also becomes aware of the enmity between the town's two patriarchs, Ellie's father Don Murston, a businessman with alleged criminal connections, and Mike MacAvett, to whose son Ellie was briefly married. As friends warn him against investigating Callum's death Stewart re-encounters Ellie and uncovers more of the Murston family secrets. Then he is attacked and dangled from the same bridge from where Callum fell to his death.—don @ minifie-1
