This article contains spoilers for both Alien: Romulus and Alien: Isolation.
It’s a green, blinking box. Yet every time it appeared in the background of Alien: Romulus, a cold chill went down the spines of possibly millions of viewers, including this writer. That’s because if you ever played Alien: Isolation, Creative Assembly’s relentless survival horror game from 2014, those proverbial telephone boxes are the stuff of nightmares and lingering trauma.
Appearing in more than one scene during Fede Alvarez’s love letter to the larger Alien franchise, these “registration points,” or emergency telephone booths, are littered throughout the Renaissance Space Station in Alien: Romulus. You can see one in a scene where Cailee Spaeny’s Rain and Archie Renaux’s Tyler discuss how best to circumnavigate a hallway filled with facehuggers. The emergency comm-links also appear when Andy (David Jonsson) explains to the humans that they’re going to need pulse rifles.

For our latest edition of In My Room, Boy George shares an intimate performance — accompanied by guitarist Kevan Frost — from a private spot in London.

Spoon recently stopped by The Howard Stern Show to perform two songs, their own “Rent I Pay” and a rendition of John Lennon’s 1970 solo track “Isolation.” The musicians brought a rousing feel to the song, which comes off Lennon’s album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, and it’s notably not the first time Spoon have covered the tune.

To celebrate the release of The Hole in the Ground – out on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital 8th July – we have a Blu-ray up for grabs.
Something nasty is lurking in the forest in what might be the most frightening film of the year, a nerve-jangling mix of The Witch and Hereditary, from a formidable first time director.
Sarah moves her precocious son Chris to a secluded new home in a rural town, trying to ease his apprehensions as they hope for a fresh start after a difficult past. But after a startling encounter with a mysterious new neighbour, Sarah’s nerves are set on edge. Chris disappears in the night into the forest behind their house, and Sarah discovers an ominous, gaping sinkhole while searching for him. Though he returns, some disturbing behavioural changes emerge, and Sarah begins to worry that the boy who came back is not her son.

There’s a new mobile game based on the Alien franchise coming out called Alien: Blackout and today we have the first trailer and details for it for you to check out.
The new game explores the time where Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley is still in cryo-sleep during the 57 year period between Alien and Aliens. Like in 2014’s Alien: Isolation, the new game will feature Ripley’s daughter, Amanda.
Alien: Blackout will only be available on mobile devices, which is kind of a shame. I would much rather play a game like this on a console like Isolation.
Here’s the synopsis that was released:
The terror of Alien is brought to life in Alien: Blackout. Try to stay alive while trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a deadly Xenomorph as it tirelessly hunts you and the crew. Outsmart the perfect hunter by making perilous choices.

Since first arriving in theaters back in 1979, Alien has spawned one of the most beloved science fiction film franchises in history. I don’t know about you, but whenever Hollywood churns out another installment, I feel as though it’s my duty to give it a watch.
Unfortunately, the series has hit a few snags in recent memory, as Covenant didn’t meet the studio’s financial expectations, not to mention the whole matter of Disney possibly not being too keen on movies less friendly toward families. Don’t forget, pretty much any film property branded “Fox” is now theirs.
As it turns out, Alien could soon make its way to the realm of television, according to reports circulating over the summer. Reviving this topic is that of Mr. H Reviews, who are now saying they’ve learned that, yes, such a thing is on the way and heading to a streaming service.

While the future of the cinematic franchise is in a bit of doubt following the tepid performance of Alien Covenant, 20th Century Fox is evidently keen to keep pressing into new corners of that universe in videogames. Stars: Dominic Purcell, Luke Mably, Marie Avgeropoulos, Claudia Church, Chelsea Edmundson, Stephen Lang, Tricia Helfer | Written by Shane Dax Taylor, Chad Law | Directed by Shane Dax Taylor
A genre-standard bickering couple take their woes to a small island in the Bahamas, where they hope to patch things up and get back on the right track. That track puts them on the same path as two other couples; the charismatic William and Mary (Stephen Lang and Claudia Church) and the horny Max and Nina (Dominic Purcell and Marie Avgeropoulos). While out wining and dining with the former, their beach house is ransacked and robbed. But whodunit? And will they stop at robbery?
With a story which slow-burns like an incense candle, ambling along at a languid pace, Fugitives (aka Isolation) is not the action-heavy gunfight-palooza its cast and synopsis might suggest. Even the normally terrifying Stephen Lang is in laid-back mode here,...

The identity of finding the truth about his father is a catalyst of sorts here, but it’s far from the focus of Mario Cornejo and co-writer Monster Jimenez’s beautiful, raw, and affecting film. Instead it’s the idea of escaping one’s past through self-deception and distraction that pervades the screen alongside gorgeous visuals and performances. Look, Isolation: you kind-of, sort-of had me with “Stephen Lang is a modern day pirate and a pervert who holds a guy hostage with a corkscrew in one scene.” It’s a shame that the rest of the trailer for this upcoming thriller, which is being dumped direct to DVD and VOD in April, looks so bland. "Do you two ever get lonely out here?" Lionsgate has released a trailer for an indie thriller titled Isolation, from director Shane Dax Taylor. This based-on-a-true story thriller about "modern day pirates" premiered at one small film festival in 2015 and never went anywhere, but it's finally getting a VOD release this spring. Isolation stars Tricia Helfer and Luke Mably as a couple on a vacation to a quiet part of the Bahamas. One day they wake up to find themselves under attack from a local. The cast includes Dominic Purcell, Marie Avgeropoulos, Claudia Church, Chelsea Edmundson, and Stephen Lang as another gnarly bad guy. Unsurprisingly this looks instantly forgettable, which explains why it took so long to be released. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Shane Dax Taylor's Isolation, direct from YouTube: Hoping to restore their flagging marriage, Lydia (Tricia Helfer) and Creighton (Luke Mably) journey to a remote island in the sun-drenched Bahamas.

Isolation is inspired by the true events of a couple vacationing on a remote island in the Bahamas who are hunted by a group of modern-day pirates. Pirates?!?! How delightful! Even more so is the addition of the lovely Tricia Helfer and the mighty Stephen Lang to the ensemble. Check out the trailer below! Evidently this one has been collecting dust for a couple of years, which I can't say is a great... Read More...

It's the holiday from hell for Luke Mably and Tricia Helfer in a nerve-shredding teaser for Isolation.
The thriller takes place on a beautiful island, where couples travel to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life.
Creighton (Mably) and Lydia (Helfer) think they are in for the vacation of a lifetime, but quickly discover that they're trapped with four dangerous psychopaths.
Isolation also stars The Flash's Dominic Purcell, Marie Avgeropoulos (The 100 ), Stephen Lang (Avatar) and Claudia Church (Chasing Ghosts) as the married couple's demented tormentors.
Shane Dax Taylor wrote, directed and produced Isolation.
Isolation opens later this year in Us cinemas.

“The 100” star Marie Avgeropoulos has joined indie thriller “Isolation,” which is now filming in Gulfport, Mississippi. The Shane Taylor-directed thriller follows a couple whose relationship is in turmoil who decide to go on an island vacation in order to rejuvinate the romance. Instead, they’re stranded with a pair of smiling psychopaths. Avgeropoulos will play Marie, described as beautiful with a very dark side, girlfriend to Dominic Purcell’s Max. Tricia Helfer and Luke Mably will play the vacationing couple Lydia and Creighton, respectively.
