Miche is the second strongest human inside the walls after Levi .. To die in a such cruel way was a very good move from Isayama .. The way the beast titan was looking at him can be read also as "He was looking down on humanity" .. great episode as always aot

One of the most brutal moments!
and_mikkelsen26 January 2023
This was a great way to start season 2! It picks up where season 1 and quickly introduces new challenges and mysteries that will.make you excited to see where the season goes from here!

This season is very much about adding extra layers of mystery, world building and character work! There are small pieces of information scattered that you may not notice at first!

Mike and The beast titan are without a doubt the most memorable part of the episode! Season 1 had its brutal moments but in this episode we get perhaps one of the most brutal moments in the show! Isayama does a great job of making a character memorable after a single episode!

You wanted answers? Here are more questions!
javiersilva-616961 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
After one of the most insane (post credit) cliffhangers ever and waiting years for season 2, viewers are dying to get some answers. But this is SnK, so no time to rest or think, because the church of the walls (or at least Pastor Nick) KNEW about the titans in the wall and refuse to elaborate. How? Why? Also, titans have appeared INSIDE Wall Rose. Was it the colossal? Another titan capable of breaking the walls? Was it a mole titan capable of digging? Our scouts (whom we saw briefly at the finale of previous season) don't even have time to gear up, so they go bare handed into the field. What's worst, some of their home villages are within titan's reach now.

Climax arrives when Mike calls for his horse, and a giant abnormal grabs it and tosses it towards him. Then he freaking talks, and delivers some odd puzzling and at the same time casual dialog. A lot to digest here, most noteworthy is that anyone in the world should know what the ODM is, yet this human-controlled titan (established at this point) doesn't. More subtle is that Mike calls is a ''beast'' instead of a ''monkey'', what the titan clearly resembles. Impossible to notice this the first time, this will carry more significance later on. We end with one of the most cruel and undeserving deaths in a show full of cruel undeserving deaths, watching Mike get eaten alive by abnormals.

Now, we didn't get too much Mike last season, but we know he's supposed to be a badass, has a great sense of smell for detecting problems, figuring out people and situations. He's also suppposed to be humanity's strongest soldier, second only to Levi, so this death still is particulary undeserving. He could've been a great character this season.

A crazy episode that kicks off unimaginable repercusions through out this season.

The Unforgettable Episode
sanadalsalt18 December 2023
Season 2 starts off on a high note, seamlessly continuing from where season 1 left off. The introduction of new challenges and mysteries will leave you eagerly anticipating what's to come. This season focuses on adding depth to the world, characters, and mystery. There are subtle clues scattered throughout that you may initially miss. Mike and The Beast Titan are the standout characters of the episode. While season 1 had its share of brutality, this episode takes it to a new level. Isayama's skillful writing makes it easy to remember a character after just one and i am saying just one episode.

Solid start to season 2
walter-082247 December 2020
This episode was definitely satisfying, but i would expect a bit more after 3.5 years of waiting. The OP was good, not as good as either of the first openings to season 1 though. Also toward the end of the opening, what were all those random animals doing there? it came across as silly and out of place to me. The ED wasn't that great in my opinion. Maybe i'm just not used to hearing it yet, but after the epic ED to season 1 i expected more. The episode itself was really good. Loved how it threw us back to where season 1 left off. Some nice action and storytelling here. Interesting ending and hopefully it goes somewhere.

Rewatch, 9.9/10
dcdude-269888 October 2023
This season is already becoming very well-written and just pure amazing. To get it over with, my favorite characters in this episode were Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, and my favorite things about this episode were the storyline, the action, and the antagonists. I watched the first two episodes, and they were both 9.9's. I am already having good feelings about this season being better than the first one. Why? Because based on how good these episodes are, Warrior might just be the greatest episode I will ever watch until I see episodes from season 3 and 4, especially 4. I honestly can't wait to see the 9.8 and 9.7 star rated episodes.

Season 2, the destruction of a decent Anime....
TrueRanKings15 May 2023
In the second season of "Attack on Titan," the introduction of the Beast Titan was meant to be a pivotal moment, but it failed to capture my attention as much as the first season. The Beast Titan, a mysterious and powerful humanoid creature with the ability to control Titans, is certainly an intriguing addition to the story, but for me, it lacked the impact and sense of urgency that made the first season so captivating. While some fans may appreciate the Beast Titan's presence and the deeper mysteries it brings to the story, it simply did not resonate with me in the same way.

General Enjoyability: 3/10

Other Stats:

Storytelling: 5/10 Acting: 9/10 Direction: 7/10 Writing: 3/10 Cinematography: 1/10 Sound design: 8/10 Originality: 5/10 Theme: 1/10 Emotional impact: 1/10 Production value: 8/10.

Slump.
AceRoccola7 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Apparently this where things get stupid. Talking titans, dancing titans, skilled and experienced soldiers acting like recruits, lots of dumb "revelations".

It's like Lost all over again. A compelling first season full of intrigue and mystery followed by bumbling attempts to provide answers while piling on increasingly ludicrous and unsatisfying new twists.
