good ridiculous fun
SnoopyStyle28 April 2019
A plane crashes onto a deserted tropical island. The survivors include incompetent flight attendant Owen. Florence and Emma are best friends. Danny is a loser pretending to be a cop. Jess is married to the jerk Todd. Steve is a New Zealander. Pack is tech obsessed. Karen is the survivalist. Liam is the obvious chiseled leader until he gets crushed by the nose of the plane in the first episode.

This is a fun, ridiculous spoof. It starts as a spoof of Lost but deviates relatively quickly. I love all the ridiculous characters and the actors who give it everything. I do miss Ginger Gonzaga who left the show early in the second season. She's a lead actress who formed a duo as Emma and Florence. It's a TBS comedy which lasted three seasons. It's never going to win any awards but it's fun while it lasted.

A clever comedy show when no one's making comedy any more.
Rob-O-Cop21 June 2017
Tired of predictable sitcoms, serious dramas and the darkest of dark programs? There aren't many real comedy shows being made out there now are there? So this show beams through as a ray of light purely in the absence of any competition and because it dares to be just plain funny when every other 'comedy show' is bogged down with their agendas. And the comedy is pretty clever, not that obvious and just a little bit boundary pushing. It's not a ten or anything but it's a solid 7.5 and when you've had a hard day at work and just want to unwind with a laugh or three this program comes as a welcome and difficult to find treat.

Cancelled
g_hilse11 May 2019
I can't believe TBS is cancelling such a funny, original show. I haven't seen a show that made me laugh like this in quite a while. The TBS network has been my go to for programming since this show arrived, but they've lost my viewing (and respect) when they made the very, very poor choice of cancelling this comedy gem.

Comedy Gold!
BennyTV3 October 2018
Please do not cancel this show! And if you are a fan, Watch on a platform that will support positive ratings! TBS was churning out poop for years... dont let that junk make you pre-judge this show. Lets just say I watched the pilot about 4 times in the first week (years ago).

I must also mention that the talented cast here- from chemistry to individual talent is through the roof. These are some of the best comedic actors you will ever see on screen, and even if you only know the 2-3 HUGE comedy icons, the rest of the cast is also quite accomplished. The meta for putting lesser known actors in tv and movies is proving to pay off for all.

A Comedy About Survival
atlasmb19 June 2016
Imagine you are a flight attendant on a plane piloted by Leslie Nielsen and right in the middle of half the passengers complaining and the other half getting wrecked (see what I did there?), the plane goes down. Next thing you know you are dealing with a lot of panicked people on a tropical beach--sort of like "Lost", but with a greater chance of a believable storyline.

Well, Owen, it doesn't take long for everyone to assume their places in this new society. What will be yours? Looking on the bright side (now that the pilots are gone and the one guy who seemed a natural to take charge has perished), will you finally realize that flight attendants have a higher calling?

"Wrecked" also ponders other basic questions, like are people basically good, as Danny (the big guy) believes? Or will the island be all "Lord of the Flies", as the corporate-survival-of-the-fittest woman believes?

It's an opportunity for the survivors to redefine themselves, to reinvent themselves, if they like. Maybe you'd want to be a cop? Or an importer-exporter? It's your big chance.

This parody of survival shows plays with all the usual tropes (it's a trope-ical island, after all) and is not afraid to get silly, though not as silly as "Angie Tribeca". So sit back with a mai tai, put your toes in the sand, and enjoy the comedy stylings of a bunch of misfits who couldn't survive on an island if Waikiki were just over the first sand dune.

Update 6/30/16: After a few episodes, I am enjoying this show, which has a kind of "Last Man on Earth" vibe.

A fun comedy that's good for some giggles but no gut busting laughs
rajvinder-4175430 August 2018
If you're someone who appreciates dark humour then I can definitely recommend this show to you. It features a cast of colourful and memorable characters whose reactions to the dramatic, dark and humorous twists of being stranded on an island never ceases to entertain.

A variety of topics are touched upon in this show, ranging from the serious to the downright hilarious, all of which never really feel "forced", are discussed only when necessary, and never dragged out to be long or boring.

Why a 7 and not a 10? Admittedly, this a show that's designed to push the envelope, especially with the quick pacing of the episodes and the occasional controversial topics that it discusses (e.g. Are you a bad person for killing someone who openly supports the prejudice and discrimination of an entire race of people but has otherwise committed no crime?). It never fully goes 'all the way' with these topics and never ends these discussions in a memorable, satisfying or comical manner, resulting in the occasional giggle as the joke is being delivered but a gratifying conclusion being quelled with predictable jokes, puns, or even nothing at all.

That being said though, the occasional flat delivery of jokes isn't enough for me to turn anyone away form this show. If you're interested in this show then I'd definitely recommend watching a few episodes.

What...cancelled?

How could this show be cancelled. It was amazing. Great comedic writing when there are so few shows that focus on comedy. The actors were amazing together.

It's a cute show.
michellesharpe-169438 April 2022
I remember wanting to check this series out when it first aired because I'm a massive Rhys Darby fan. I finally decided to binge watch it on HBO Max and as expected, Rhys Darby as Steve is pretty hysterical.

All in all, this was a really cute show. It wasn't perfect by any means and probably could've been wrapped up neater than what it was. I laughed a ton, and overall recommend this show.

STOP SCREEEEEAAAAAAAAAAMIIIIIIIIING!!!!!!!!!!
bradmoron25 April 2019
There are some good gags in this show and a few good characters. The premises are fine and the story arcs are well developed for a parodistic comedy. Overall the acting is pretty good.

But for the love of God, occasionally have the characters react to things other than having them all doing full breath sustained screams. It's annoying as hell and takes the viewer right out of the story every time.

You could play a drinking game with Wrecked, whereby you have to do a shot every time a character screams. After recovering from a full-blown hangover the next day, you could then start playing again to see if you can make it through the second half of the episode.

JUST SHUT THE FAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHH UP!

I liked it
merz-4990617 July 2016
I started to watch wrecked one night when I was bored with nothing to do. At first I thought it was going to be a complete p**s take of lost which it is in a way but it isn't all about that. It has lots of humorous moments and I like most of the actors. What I like most about the show is the two female Asian actors, especially Jess (Ally Maki) they make the show worth watching. So overall I would definitely recommend wrecked if you are looking for a good laugh and some nice girls.. I need to get to ten lines so I am going to keep typing and typing and then type some more up until I have reached the ten lines. I am now on the final line. I hope my comment is well received

Wonderfully twisted
cekadah16 June 2016
Winner winner chicken dinner!

Zach Cregger (of WKUK fame) is back as an incompetent flight attendant now surviving with fellow passengers after their plane mysteriously crashes on an island. This island is in a hot climate because there are palm trees! To survive or not to survive that is the question. No food, no water, no shelter, no communication with outside world. Sounds depressing doesn't it? But it is not! This rag tag collection of self absorbed goof ball survivors had me laughing and looking forward to more & more.

If you like a bit of a sick twist to your comedy then "Wrecked" is your bowl of fun and laffs! The WKUK series isn't too different and that show was & is still a blast.

A TV winner for this 2016 summer! Catch it.

7.4/10. Recommended

FIRST SEASON : 7,3/10

SECOND SEASON : 7,3/10

THIRD SEASON : 7,5/10

This is a comedy which does what comedy suppose to do: Makes you feel good without preaching or judging. Maybe that's the reason it got cancelled. It's the greatest sin for a conedy to be just funny. If it doesn't carry a lot of messages repeating the same things again and again, it should be cancelled.

Anyway, this is intentionally dumb, forgettable, characters acting abnormally and for sure it's not the most clever comedy of television. However, it's entertaining as hell, actors are good and there are many hilarious scenes. This is a comedy that doesn't take itself seriously (my type of comedy). If you are looking for "meaningful" dialogue, warm hearted people and other stuff like TED LASSO, you won't like it.

Absolutely Hilarious

"Wrecked" never fails to make me laugh! It's far better than the commercials/trailers would lead you to believe. Some think it's simply a parody of "Lost", others say it's annoying with too much yelling and compare it to It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I say it's the best thing TBS has done (aside from Conan) and can't wait for new episodes. The cast is amazing and there are plot twists I never would have seen coming. If you like Always Sunny, do yourself a favor and give Wrecked a chance. In two seasons, it's managed to give me more laughs than anything else on TV today.

A cute show for what it is (Review through S02 finale)
walterhpdx23 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched this from the beginning, and have interacted with both the official Twitter accounts of the show and the actors. It's definitely a cute show, and in a way, it lends itself to the comedies that we saw back in the 70s and 80s when there was more slap-stick in nature. The castaways get themselves into a new, dangerous situation, and comically get themselves out of it each week.

I will say that it was rather dark, going into season two that they killed off Emma. They handled it the best way that they could, given the subject matter, but it was still a bit too much. Overall, they've done great with what they have, even when killing off Turnbull at the end of season one, but turning it around in season two to reveal that Turnbull was a Nazi.

Quite apropos for the current American political environment, eh?

But here's my biggest pet peeve with the show, and I haven't been all that quiet about it online. During season one, they played up the characters of Danny and Owen - specifically their relationship. Owen and Danny were shown to be "touchy-feely" in the first episode. The second episode had Danny calling Owen, "Hon". Dream sequences had them as a couple. And at the end of season 1, when Danny was in trouble, Steve told Owen to put down the flare gun. His specific words were, "Do it. Do it for your lover!"

If you go through Wrecked's Twitter feed, you'll find images of Danny and Owen with hearts around them. So it wasn't just subtext on the show - it was overtly and covertly pushed by all involved, including publicity shots and outreach.

They didn't make Danny/Owen canonically gay, nor did they put them explicitly in a relationship. But they sure as hell played it up. But then in season 2, TPTB must have gone, "Oh crap, we can't have that" and they went full "No Homo" on the audience. The process started lighter at first, where Danny would make a comment, and unlike season 1, Owen wouldn't tease him about it - but instead was just mean; and it got meaner as the season progressed. Danny continued his "pining" during season 2 until the very last episode where he overtly went full No Homo with, "I mean I don't want to touch your butt or anything."

I'm really tired of TV shows queerbaiting the audience to gain viewers, then quickly run it back when the audience actually reacts. Either commit and go with it, consequences be damned, or stop treating the audience like that. It's disrespectful.

Mildly satirical, a little zany, not at all credible but very very funny.
Charlievm1 August 2016
I am going to add to the review I wrote last year just to say that I think series 2 is even funnier. This is to me is a classic.

I must say the first episode had me crying with laughter. It is not supposed to be even remotely accurate, or plausible, and it is slightly dark but very very funny. Do not be put off by those who propose cell phones would or would not work under those conditions, this is an hysterically funny parody of Lord of the Flies. The funniest show since Veep. It can be silly at times but the pure wit of some of the lines and the absurdity of the situation makes it a must try if not an absolute must see. All the episodes so far have been a pure delight in comical entertainment and I enjoy the fact that there is a progression of the story from episode to episode. One scene, about 2/3 of the way through the first episode ranks to me as one of the funniest I have seen particularity in a pilot. I will not spoil that for you but if your sense of humour is anything like mine you know it when you come to it because you might have to wipe the tears of laughter from your eyes.

Funny but not histarical
chrisdye-3186727 December 2016
I have been watching tbs,s new comedies for awhile now and all I can say is that yes this is a cute little show but not as brave as the detor or as funny as Angie Tribeca it has its moments no doubt about that but I don't feel the same as I did for even people of earth while I was laughing at it I wanted so much more due to the previews of it I wanted to love the characters while some of them I did enjoy it wasn't enough to make up for the boring plot and dumb story yes I will continue watching it but I don't think that it is as good as the rest of the shows on the this year so watch it just don't expect much from it and you might be surprised how well you might enjoy it I just thought it was a little weak

TBS is finding the funny
angusiv15 June 2016
First The Detour and now Wrecked, TBS has really made a nice investment into a couple of very funny comedies. Wrecked is about a couple of losers trying to lead a group of people on an island after a plane crash. Some of the jokes aren't hard to see coming but the payoff will still make you laugh. I'd say it's just in time for a good summer comedy from a network you really wouldn't expect it from. I'm excited to see what direction they are going to take and it looks like they have a solid cast and writers who can create a story that's better than a run of the mill comedy. Now I've run out of things to say but the powers that be always want a 10 line review and by gosh somebody should say anything about this show.

should have been done better
angelorwez16 August 2022
I actually liked this show...

you can tell almost immediately though that not much went into its production...

that's sad though...they really had plenty here...the characters...the setting...could have been great...

maybe use more well orchestrated flashbacks...write this better...it has a little too many ridiculous elements...scenes motivations twists...some are so and you're like whaaaat?!

With all that being said...i actually liked it...it was not great but i liked it...

Only if nothing else is on.
sendittodave20 June 2016
So, this Is my first review. Where do I begin....

It is basically "Lost" meets "Gilligan'sIsland". It's Semi-funny, but gets old quick. I had really high hopes for this. I thought the plot had promise. I like stupid comedies like "Workaholics", but not enough laughs to sustain a series.

The flight attendant character reminds me of Jeff from "Community" without Joels timing. The other guy is just not funny. The supporting cast is where most the laughs come from.

I am guessing it will be short lived. Good Idea, but misses the mark.

Move along people. Nothing to see here.

Such an original and funny series! Every character is has their own crazy quirks and everything that happens is so outrageous its histerical. I really wish they didn't cancel this show. I would love to see what craziness happens next.
