Uwe Boll, it seems, is back.
The notorious German director of Rampage, Postal and Far Cry has wrapped production on his new film, First Shift, a New York cop drama set over an intense 12-hour shift of a veteran NYPD officer and his rookie partner. It is Boll’s first U.S. film in five years, since 2016’s Rampage: President Down.
Gino Anthony Pesi (Shades of Blue) plays the veteran cop, with Kristen Renton (Sons of Anarchy) as the rookie. First Shift shot on location in New York and is currently in postproduction at Tunnel Post in Los Angeles.
Unlike many of the films in his oeuvre, from Seed (2006) and Postal (2007) to the Rampage trilogy — movies that indulged in extreme, graphic onscreen bloodshed — First Shift, Boll says, will show his kinder, gentler side.
“It’s an action movie, and there’s a side plot involving the mob, but it’s...

After a long break from feature films, director Uwe Boll is back and ready to roll with his latest project, a crime drama about two mismatched New York City cops on their first day as partners.
“First Shift” stars Kristen Renton (“Sons of Anarchy”) and Gino Anthony Pesi (“Shades of Blue”) as the badge-carrying duo, she a transplant from Atlanta new to the Big Apple, he a jaded Brooklyn cop who prefers to work alone but forced to take on the new partner.
Set to start shooting in New York City next month, “First Shift” has moved ahead of two other projects Boll has in the works, a South Africa-set thriller and a feature about Prohibition-era federal agent Eliot Ness — famously played by Kevin Costner and Robert Stack in the 1987 film and the 1959 series “The Untouchables” — during the latter part of his career.

Director Uwe Boll has made a lot of terrible films in his career. I lot of people despise him, but he also has a loyal fan base that loves him. He’s definitely one of the wildest outspoken filmmakers out there that likes to say a lot of crazy things and he’s known for having meltdowns. He has no filter when he talks and some people admire that about him.
Boll is credited with directing 32 projects, produced over 50, has written 19 films. Some of these films include BloodRayne, Rampage: President Down, In the Name of the King: The Last Job, Suddenly, Assault on Wall Street, Blubberella, Far Cry, German Fried Movie, Attack on Darfur, Postal, The House of the Dead, and Alone in the Dark.

Known for adapting video games for film, Uwe Boll isn’t too happy with Warner Bros. and New Line’s upcoming action pic Rampage starring Dwayne Johnson. The German director released a Rampage trilogy of his own starting in 2009 and in a statement released on his website, it is said he is pursuing legal action against the studio for “using his brand.”
Boll released his first Rampage movie in 2009 which was followed by 2014’s Rampage: Capital Punishment and 2016’s Rampage: President Down. The movies do not share the storyline of Warner Bros’ adaptation of the monster sci-fi video game, but Boll says that the new movie will “shrink” his brand and the money he can make with his future Rampage movies. He also adds, “It also confuses the audience!”
He is very aware that the Johnson-fronted action pic has nothing to with his trilogy, but he is still demanding that Warner Bros.

If you're familiar with Uwe Boll then you know he's a filmmaker who has made a lot of notoriously bad films in his career. He's mostly known for his terrible video game adaptations. Some of the films that he's made include House of the Dead, Bloodrayne, Far Cry, Rampage, Assault on Wall Street, and In the Name of the King.
Well, for those of you who enjoyed trashing the director and his films, you'll be happy to know that he's announced his retirement. While speaking with Metro, Boll explained that he can no longer afford to make the movies that he wants to make.
“The market is dead, you don’t make any money anymore on movies because the DVD and Blu-ray market worldwide has dropped 80 per cent in the last three years. That is the real reason; I just cannot afford to make movies.“I can’t go back...

Director Uwe Boll is best known for his many poorly-received video game film adaptations — “House of the Dead,” “Alone in the Dark,” “BloodRayne” etc. — as well as the numerous negative reviews he has received over the years. But now, Boll confirms that he has retired from filmmaking and his latest film “Rampage: President Down,” the third film in his “Rampage” series, will be his last. In an interview with Metro Toronto, Boll cites market failures and an inability to make a profit as his primary reasons.

Tagline: "This Bill will not be Vetoed." This film fan was a little surprised to see that director Uwe Boll has completed another film. His latest and possibly last film is called Rampage: President Down. This film, is of course, the final in a trilogy, which began with Rampage (2009). A sequel to this first film was released in 2014 as Rampage: Capital Punishment. In a recent interview, Boll has stated that this will be his last film, with Boll transitioning from directing into distribution (Influx Mag'). A preview for Rampage: President Down is hosted here. This third film again focuses on Bill Williamson (Brendan Fletcher). After successfully stealing thousands of dollars from a bank in his hometown, Bill has made his agenda known, through a news station. Now, he is set on killing the President of the United States! Can the Secret Service and other governmental forces stop this violent man?...

Uwe Boll may yet reverse his decision to retirement from filmmaking - but only if you support his new film, Rampage 3.
Update
Just a quick update on this. We've been contacted by Gary Otto, the associate producer of Uwe Boll's Rampage 3, and the writer of the in-development project, 12 Hours.
He's pointed out a correction to us, which we're happy to make.
He told us that "Boll's retirement really depends on fans showing their support by buying or not buying Rampage 3. If Rampage 3 can actually make a profit, the film I wrote 12 Hours would be made and Uwe might not retire. If it does not break a profit it is indeed the end. None of the films have made a profit in a long time so he is predicting the end, realistically, but if people actually buy upon its initial release, brand new and not used, then...

Pizza and movies go together like peanut butter and jelly, or peanut butter and jelly pizza and the movies. Not a fan of those toppings? Whatever.
So while Domino’s is working overtime to remind you that they aren’t actually terrible and that they serve things other than pizza, Pizza Hut has come up with a brilliant, Diy way to bring you cheesy goodness, and also some pizza.
Via The Verge, Pizza Hut has developed a box that will transform into a movie projector. All you need is a smart phone. Order a Pizza Hut pizza, get it delivered in one of four different, artistically designed boxes, then pop out the lens that’s included into the front of the box, and finally prop up your phone with the small, three pegged pizza holder to project videos directly through the lens in the box onto a nearby wall.
And there you have it!

German director Uwe Boll is famous for various things, mostly churning out terrible movies. Ten years ago his films somehow went theatrical - "Alone in the Dark," "House of the Dead," "Bloodrayne," etc.
Since then he's been mostly doing direct to video fare from "the "In the Name of the King" sequels to the revenge piece "Rampage" and its sequel "Rampage: Capital Punishment". Recently Boll took to crowdfunding to try and score $55,000 in additional funding to produce "Rampage 3".
With only a few days left to go though, he hasn't reached half his goal and he's upset about it - to the point that he's delivered a video diatribe slamming crowdfunding in general as well as other targets like Marvel movies before declaring "f--- you all" and saying "I have enough money to play golf for 'til I'm dead".

It's possible that you didn't know Uwe Boll had directed Rampage and Rampage 2. But if you were a fan of those films and on tenterhooks for Rampage 3, we're afraid we have disappointing news. The crowdfunding campaigns have not pulled in sufficient cash to allow the film to go ahead. Boll has now released a video telling us what he thinks about this.Unusually for Boll the Rampage films aren't based on videogames (so no, they're not about monsters smashing buildings). Instead, they're sort of Falling Down-meets-Natural Born Killers affairs, in which Brendan Fletcher decides he's mad as hell and isn't going to take it anymore, going postal in the city and, in the sequel, occupying a TV station. It's a war on Society, man.Rampage 3: No Mercy would have completed the trilogy, Fletcher and Lochlyn Munro set to reprise their roles from the previous films. It would have been,...

Since most of you have much better things to do with your weekend than listen to Uwe Boll rant and rave about how Hollywood is “laughing at us” on a daily basis, you probably missed his YouTube meltdown/bitch-fest/publicity stunt this past weekend.
Chances are you haven’t seen Rampage (a rather decent film) or its sequel, so you probably had no idea that Boll is currently crowdfunding Rampage 3: No Mercy, and after going the indiegogo route (which failed miserably), Boll fled to Kickstarter hoping that a different contributing community could keep his Damn-the-man franchise running strong. Long story short, the campaign failed yet again, and now Uwe Boll has one statement for us all: “Fuck Yourself.”

The King of Trash is back and trying to keep it real. German director Uwe Boll took to YouTube to slam several Hollywood stars, crowdfunding and the movie business in general after he failed to raise enough money for Rampage 3: No Mercy. He posted two separate videos Sunday, each one attacking a different facet of Tinseltown. "Basically, my message is 'f--k yourself,'" he bluntly began the first rant. Although his campaign didn't reach its ultimate goal of $55,000, Boll did manage to raise $25,000, but it just wasn't enough. He also had used Indiegogo, but that didn't work out for him either. "I want to make Rampage 3 because it is an important movie, but it seems your easier...

"Basically, my message is f*ck yourself." Uwe Boll has made quite a few shitty movies (House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark etc) - but, he's also made quite a few... less shitty movies (Assault On Wall Street, Rampage, Darfur) that he is clearly very proud of. That's all well and good, but Mr. Boll evidently believes these underrated masterpieces to be vastly superior to the "Marvel Avengers bullshit dirt" type stuff us "geeks and idiots" are consuming on a regular basis instead of pouring money into his Kickstarter campaign. The German director has posted the below vids to his Youtube page, and in them he vents his frustration at not managing to raise the requisite cash needed to complete what would surely be his magnum opus, Rampage 3: No Mercy. He also takes the opportunity to make digs at the likes of Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr.,...

Someone peed in Uwe Boll's cereal, and the results are delightful. Whenever I see someone bag Ed Wood as "the worst filmmaker ever," I try to engage them in that conversation and offer up the alternative view that no one, no matter how desperately lacking in talent, can ever be considered the worst filmmaker of all time when their movies are so painfully sincere and personally revealing. I would argue that cynicism is far worse than lack of talent, and when you're talking about people who are genuinely terrible filmmakers, Uwe Boll is as cynical as they come. He was evidently seeking to raise financing for a new "film" called "Rampage 3," which I presume would be the second sequel to his detestable psycho-on-a-rampage piece of griefsploitation. Someone talked him into crowdfunding it, which ended up having a two-part positive impact. First, the crowdfunding efforts failed, so we've apparently been spared the movie.

Did you know writer/director Uwe Boll directed around 30 movies in his careerc I didn't, and of those, the number of them I've seen I can count on one hand: 2007's In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and 2009's Rampage. I didn't even know he made a sequel to the latter, let alone had not one but two different crowdfunding efforts to complete his violent trilogy with Rampage 3: No Mercy. Turns out I wasn't alone. Boll's most recent crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter is still several thousands dollars away from his goal with only three days left (the Indigogo one before that fell $93,675 short of its $100,000 goal) and he's not very happy about it. It’s harsh. It’s extremely entertaining. Take a look. This comes after Boll, who directed movies like the two Rampage films and Postal, failed multiple times to gain funding for Rampage 3 on crowdfunding sites. With the likes of In the Name of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and Postal under his belt, you would never call Uwe Boll one of cinema’s greatest directors. But there is one person out there who thinks he deserves that title: Uwe Boll himself. A bit of context. Boll is currently wrapping up his Kickstarter campaign for Rampage 3: No Mercy, the second sequel to his 2009 mass murderer thriller (incidentally, one of his only movies get positive reviews). With three days to go, it’s not looking good with the $50,000 goal still a long way from being reached, and he is not happy. Taking to Youtube, he has a message for us all: “Fuck yourself”. And that’s not all. For now, though, Boll has not taken the failed Kickstarter campaign for his latest project, Rampage 3: No Mercy particularly well. It's not the first time he's used crowdfunding to try and get the movie made, but with the film some way away from its target, Boll has a new message to people: "fuck yourself".
In a pair of videos he's posted, Boll has torn movie fans, movie stars, The Hollywood Reporter and such like. He argues that movie stars "are laughing about you", describing their...

I can now safely say it will be my lifelong dream to now see a movie about “some retarded wizard in the forest”. That was just one of the many great moments in this ironic outburst from notoriously awful director Uwe Boll (Blubberella, Postal, BloodRayne, Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead).
Boll is upset (you might say) about his ill attempt at a Kickstarter campaign for something called Rampage 3.
The video was accompanied by a message saying:
never will do crowdfunding again …. thanks to the few they supported rampage 3 -.-.—the rest can fuck their mothers incl. Kickstarter and all the idiots who talked me into bullshit like this
Promise?
(see his Kickstarter here).

On the VOD front, December 5th saw the release of the thriller Poker Night, which stars Ron Perlman, Titus Welliver, Giancarlo Esposito and Ron Eldard. (Go watch The Babadook if you haven.t yet.) In smaller news, Uwe Boll has taken to Indiegogo to try and fund the presumably violent sequel Rampage 3: No Mercy. (Why?) The highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Z for Zachariah, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and...
