It's a decent episode.
I would class this as a decent mystery, rather then a particularly good one. The mystery is such that you can guess who did it, why and how within the first few minutes of it occuring. I wasn't struck on the story or the characters, although I did like Joe Absolom's character.
The mystery wasn't the best, but there were decent elements, notably the dynamic between Dwayne and JP, and JP's housing situation.
Watchable, but forgettable. 6/10

Worked it out so a little disappointing
I always give episodes of murder mysteries where I work out the murderer a low score. Because seriously as a fan of the genre I want to be well and truly stumped. Death in Paradise is one of those series that all the murders are so impossible to work out that ones where you are way ahead of the team is always extra disappointing. Maybe not everyone will work out who and how it was done (but it resembles the very first episode of Paradise) so if you know of that first ever episode you'll know what to look for. Working out the reason Why though was still left to uncover.

There is a pattern in the five or so episodes I have seen so far: there are only half a dozen suspects with (almost) iron clad alibis. It could get boring if all installments are this way. This episode was well executed and I felt rewarded in guessing (but not figuring out) who was the culprit.
I'm noticing the klutzy but likeable Kris Marshall as DI Goodman over acts/reacts his role. The others offer smooth performances that don't seem forced. Danny John-Jules (of Red Dwarf) is perfect here as he was as Cat.
