On June 24, 1945, the most famous parade of the 20th century, the Victory Parade, took place on Red Square. It was hosted by 49-year-old Marshal Georgiy Konstantinovich Zhukov. Zhukov, who headed the Soviet occupation administration, plays one of the key roles in determining the fate of post-war Germany. Meanwhile, clouds are gathering over his head. Abakumov, expelled from Germany by the marshal, complains to Stalin. Iosif Vissarionovich recalls Zhukov to Moscow and invites him to become commander-in-chief of the ground forces.
