Not worth the time
steidlcpa21 April 2017
I'll usually watch anything remotely suspenseful. The other less than average reviews were more critical of acting than I will be and pointed out all the errors and absurd coincidences. Too many blood scenes that lead nowhere. The cop is always there? No way. In rural communities where there are fewer officers and more road miles, it takes more time to arrive on scene. It is a bit creepy so you expect some suspense, which there is, but it makes no sense. I have never seen anyone drunk playing with guns and I have been around them most of my life but I'm sure it happens somewhere. Where was the town? I think the ending made little sense. There were many possibilities for a good film but far too many loose ends. Too many far-fetched disappearances, blood scenes, and senseless scenes that seem to only be a poor attempt to put blood and slash in where the issue was the absence of a good script.

Ummmmmm no

This movie was ridiculous! So many plot holes and unanswered questions. Not to mention the horrible insta-love! Also, where we're the towns? Why so much corn? Where were they driving to? The only good thing in the whole movie was the diner scene. The waitress that poured the coffee in the background was phenomenal!

Spoiler Alert! Worse Movie Ever!
debbi-clark0924 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Even the small segments that appeared were going to segue into something else, never did. The lead female was initially likable, although cagey. The aunt was sweet but had no real part. The cop who kept appearing out of nowhere every.single.time. was just stupid. And the whole boyfriend thing, while interesting, was just not-even-close-to-reality, especially in a small town. Nothing made sense from beginning to so-called end. The only humane action in the entire movie was to kill off nearly all the characters in the end, leaving no room for a sequel, thank God!

Horrible, just horrible I can't believe I wasted my money on this.
luvsmemustang21 October 2016
This movie was horrible. At first I rated it at a B movie. After I got through watching it, I just can't even rate it as a c movie. I can't believe I spent money on this !Save your money and time. I was very disappointed. The previews were very misleading, the acting was terrible. Save yourself the letdown. I did understand the plot. It was evident from the beginning. I just don't understand why people keep making movies like this. You think, oh this is going to be great. Then it's just hard to make yourself sit through the whole thing. If you like c rated movies, I guess this would be the movie for you. I would've loved a,little more time and effort being put into this. After all the time wasted on waiting for it to come out.

What a Stinker!
lavatch21 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
For all you young screenwriters out there, listen up! "Falsely Accused" offers a valuable lesson in how NOT to write a screenplay.

First, the writer wants to start with an opening scene that makes sense and draws the viewer into the action. The opening "murder in the cornfields" scenes is completely confusing.

Second, there should be the objective of making the lead character either sympathetic or, at least, complex. The lead character in this film is one-dimensional, never-changing, and not sympathetic.

Third, the secondary characters should be well-developed and have believable ties to the main character. The "friend" Roy who suddenly appears out of nowhere to pay the $500 bail money to free Shelly from prison made no sense.

Finally, a well-conceived narrative should move towards a conclusion that makes sense in the context of the story as a whole. In this case, the ending is purely manipulative.

It is shocking to believe that "Falsely Accused" was given a green light and has now received national distribution with Redbox. What a turkey of a film!

What a load of sh*t..
djwoutersen17 July 2016
1 is a compliment. Sincerely.

There is nothing good about this movie, nothing even moderately worthy of being considered box office. I've seen children's primary school plays performed better and with a more thought out story line.

The writer/directors first movie & it shows, I do not get offended by watching movies, in fact this is the first time I've become actually offended by a movie. The fact that someone has created something with someone else's money & then had the audacity to present it to the public with an alluring description & trailer that in no way depict the actual movie is a disgrace & if I could sue them for my 1 hour 21 min wasted on this sh*t, I wouldn't hesitate.

If you enjoy banging your head on the wall, eating glass & do not value life. Watch this load of rubbish..

Maybe I'm being to hard, but Im probably not & after watching you'll probably agree.

Keep you on edge of your seat
caseybaker-4168124 July 2016
The movie kept me the entire time on edge of my seat. Characters were very eerie and mysterious. I have a teenage son and could see my son in some of the story!!

The cinematography was beautiful. I enjoyed the time lapse shots of country side sunset. Also I loved the teenager girl on the motorcycle. Love someone finally portraying a bad-ass chick who is smart and cunning! Petite girl on HD motorcycle. ALso loved the El Camino.

Interesting depiction of country life. Felt the story was driven by both script and character. The teenage boy, Roy has amazing James Dean like performance. Need more movies like this in Hollywood. Looking forward to this director's next film!

Intriguing...Must Watch...
x-7889324 July 2016
Intriguing film. One of the more interesting i have seen in the past 6 months. The scenery is amazing and I enjoyed the story. It is a true dark love story intermingled with mystery. I love the fact that they are using actual teenagers and not 25-30 year old playing teenagers. The fact of actual teens made it more believable and made characters more vulnerable.

The story kept me involved the entire movie. The main actors are OK and mostly kept me involved. there are some spots where the chemistry was weak, but mostly decent.

Recommend to watch.

0 stars if possible, let me spoil this whole spoiled atrocious movie
AnnPanders13 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I was continually trying to tell myself to keep watching, that it HAS to get better. It kept getting worse and worse. Horrible doesn't even begin to describe it, so please don't be fooled by any rating higher than a 1. Must be family members of the cast/crew.

Let me give you a synopsis. Shelly is a teen who has visions of some girl in a cornfield. One night she gets drunk at a party and the next day she's handcuffed to a hospital bed because her brother or nephew was murdered and she's the main suspect. Then there's a love interest that makes NO sense. And the dialogue, oh god the dialogue... Lot's of "Leave me alone.... I don't need your help.... I can do it on my own...." Just awful.

She's convinced these two bad guys have abducted a girl and are keeping her in their farmhouse. These dudes are the real deal with their guns and seemingly sociopathic traits. They have already been threatening her when she keeps going on their property. It's like "Girl, these rednecks will eventually shoot your head off." But she still persisted. Made no sense.

But in the end, there was no little girl, we just watched a movie about a cray girl. Not exactly sure why she's so cray, and she was so unappealing I don't even care. The good news is that it ends with her sucking on a Glock and she offs herself. Why exactly? No clue. This was a complete waste of time. AVOID.

What was the story line, I thought i new until the end 🤔
roycemichaelhall11 November 2023
It kept me interested to the end, but then it made no sense terrible ending We thought the little girl was abducted and was being held captive then I thought she was a ghost 1 minute they're showing her locked up the next minute she's running around in a cornfield. How did the brother die Was someone trying to make her look Crazy like her mother Why would a boy friend That's not crazy cut up her aunt and put her in a suitcase and throw it in the river to cover up a killing they did not do or did they ? Why did the little girl make her kill every one Including the teenager at the end terrible terrible story line waste of time.

Excellent Look At Farm Subculture
fancyman-7632124 July 2016
Falsely Accused takes a look at the element of insanity without glamorizing, sensationalizing or demonizing it. I honestly can't think of another film on a similar subject that has managed to pull off this balance so successfully.

We care about the characters, but are completely aware of their flaws. We are given a realistic portrayal of what it is like to be ostracized within a small community. The crime scenes are exciting and we can't anticipate what is going to happen next.

This film is moral without moralizing and humane without romanticizing or sentimentalizing the subject. Falsely Accused has a subtlety, depth and heart missing from other more voyeuristic cinematic treatments of insanity.

Way better than expected!
teddysan28 July 2016
Falsely Accused was way better than I expected but there were some places where the acting was not so good. For the most part the movie was a well made thriller that tells a teenage love story. Confused stupid teens who lose themselves in reality cause they played too many video games and lived in their phones too long…. Film makes total sense to me… I loved the craziness of the story. Teens who are not thinking and they instead just do. Cause they been playing too many video games. I liked the bloody death scenes. The movie is a somewhat realistic look at how people would react to such a situation. I really like the ending which I did not expect. Good writer/director Also liked hard core ending where we get more crazy gun actions. I was not sure quite about ending and had to think about it. But I liked that. If you are into teen thrillers, Falsely Accused (for the most part) delivers on what's expected from these kind of movies.

Wacky and smart
pepgirl-5030227 July 2016
Wacky and smart. Overall really fun movie. I loved the locations and movie felt timeless and the characters were timeless. Many things felt retro 80s, even some light Depeche-modish feel to music… but there was also a modern feel.

Almost as if the film created its own time plane which I liked. The actors had a strange bond. It was a deeper bond than surface teen flicks. Acting had a dead pan feel too it which was very cultish.

One scene where main girl, Shelly, stops her motorcycle to pull road-kill off the road. Very strange depiction of the character and cultish foreshadowing. I liked it a lot. I actually watched it twice as after I saw the ending I wanted to see the beginning again to catch the hints in the script. Recommend watching

A Must See
l-274847 August 2016
A creepy coming of age film. You are never sure if the crimes are real, or just imaginary, but Shelly's slide into insanity is clearly real and paced expertly by the director.

Emma Holtzer as Shelly was slightly disappointing, and this role called for an a much more complicated performance, it was clear that she was cruising.

Maria Pulera deserves the credit for creating an excellent film, that could have so easily been just another midwestern slasher type movie. This was smart, quirky, and interesting to watch.

This movie is for people who can understand or speak something about depression and mental illness. The story line very much emulates the dark slide into depression and the leaps the mind can make in this state. so many teenagers vulnerable to this state of being.
