Uniforms in the Russian army changed three times during the period covered in the movie, but there is only one shown in the series.

Soldiers are sometimes depicted marching into battle with their packs on. Soldiers always take their packs off before engaging in battle.

Some of the women's costumes did not reflect early 19th century style. There were no one shoulder or spaghetti strapped gowns. There was a zipper visible on Anna Scherer's first gown.

Some of the women's headdresses looked as though they belonged to the late 19th century and the 1920s. Anna Scherer's hairstyles often reflect late 19th century fashion. Some of the jewelry seems more modern than the early 19th century.

Some of the dialogue sounds more modern than early 19th century.
