"Ode to My Mother" is a heartfelt biography about the life of Tahra Abdul Hafiz Al-Siba, a Saudi wife and mother who leaves her homeland for an uncertain future in Egypt and Europe, and accomplishes her goal of teaching her children to become caring productive members of the Western community in Europe and the United States. She also achieves her creative goals as an internationally acclaimed fashion designer and author. The film is delicately directed by Georges Chamchoun, provides a glimpse of a secretive part of the Middle-East, the private lives of Saudi families, as well as a sense of the historic aesthetics and subtle rich visual splendors of the Saudi traditions which continue to motivate Tahra Abdul Hafiz Al-Siba in her inspiring life journey to become as free as the birds whose journeys through the sky she follows.
