In Japanese history Miyamoto Musashi, often referred to just as Musashi, was one of the greatest swordsmen of the samurai era living from around 1584 to 1645. He wandered Japan fighting duels to prove his skill and was said to have never lost. He became the patron saint of swordsmen.
