Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Severe.
  • A man brutally beats another man to death with a stick for insulting him. We see his bloody face afterwards briefly.
  • A battle takes up most of the episode. Wights (zombie-like creatures) and White Walkers (ice demons) attack a village and many characters try to stop them so villagers can escape. Wights get arrows in their faces and are stabbed in various places, sometimes through the face. They viciously attack villagers, and the most brutal instance is when one villager gets mauled by children Wights. We see her reanimate as a Wight herself and skin on her face is missing where the children bit her. Two characters take on a White Walker. One character is stabbed almost instantly but the other character tries to block an attack from the White Walker and succeeds, and attacks the White Walker with his sword of a special steel, and he succeeds. The White Walker explodes into tiny shattered ice-like pieces. The explosion is not graphic or disturbing whatsoever.

Profanity

  • Severe.
  • 1 use of "cunt" is used, but easy to miss.
  • The word "fuck" is used multiple times.
  • 1 use of "cock" is used as a sexual reference.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Mild.
  • Some characters drink wine in some scenes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Severe.
  • The last 20 minutes of the episode is extremely eerie and intense.
  • The Wights and the White Walkers in the episode are frightening.
  • Hundreds to thousands of innocent villagers die when the White Walkers and Wights attack, being caught outside the gate when the village leaders where forced to close it. They are slaughtered off camera by Wights. A woman turns to find several Wight children, and one is mostly skeleton with his face the only part that has flesh, except for the eyes.
  • A man is afflicted with a disease that hardens the skin and all other organs to stone. He contracted it a couple episodes ago, and the stoney spot on his arm has since grown, and may be disturbing. He looks at it grimly again this episode, knowing that he will eventually die, and it can be depressing to watch.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • At the end, The Night's King deathly stares into a main character's eyes as the slaughtered Night's Watch rangers and Wildlings raise from the dead and are reanimated into Wights. The scene is dead silent (with only the sound of the blistering wind) and is eerie.
