Bill Murray reveals his choices to play him in SNL 1975: Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, and Amy Poehler. Kristen Wiig reacts to the news and gladly accepts Murray's casting choice to portray him in the upcoming Saturday Night Live film. It's unlikely a younger Bill Murray will show up in the SNL origin film, since he didn't appear as a member of the original "Not Ready for Prime Time Players."
Imagining Saturday Night Live alum Bill Hader portraying Bill Murray isn’t too much of a stretch. However, could fans imagine Kenan Thompson portraying the Hollywood superstar? How about Kristen Wiig or Amy Poehler? Well, that’s the word from Murray himself when he arrived — fashionably late, of course — to join his castmates at the premiere of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Murray was asked who he’d like to play him in...

Variety reports that the X-Men: Apocalypse star posted on her account, “I hope by sharing this it will help others find comfort, inspiration and support on their own journey.” Munn would admit that she hadn’t initially intended to get a check up for it until her doctor attempted to get ahead of the odds.
Munn explained in her statement, “I wouldn’t have found my cancer for another year – at my next scheduled mammogram – except that my Obgyn, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, decided to calculate my Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score. Prey introduced a feral Predator with unique differences, teasing a potential conflict with modern Yautja hunters in future sequels. The feral Predator's appearance, weapons, and behavior suggest a geographical and hierarchical separation within the Yautja species. The feral Predator's presence in a modern Yautja trophy room hints at a possible ongoing conflict or rivalry between the two types of alien hunters.
The 2022 surprise hit Prey introduced a brand-new type of Predator to the franchise, but it turns out that the supposedly new creature was teased many years ago. The deadly hunters that stalk their prey in the Predator franchise are the Yautja, an advanced race of aliens that have collected trophies from all over the galaxy. The deadly Yautja in Prey shares many of the same basic characteristics of the hunters seen in the other Predator movies, but there are a number of noteworthy differences in his appearance and behavior.

A future setting can revive the Predator franchise in a different way & involve the audience in new and exciting ways. Revisiting past successes, such as Prey did with its unique setting, can lead to success & critical acclaim. The near-future-set Badlands may explore thepotential of advanced technology vs. the Predator, offering a fresh take on the series.
While Badlands will be set in the future, the Predator reboot could look to the franchise’s past for one great storytelling trick. The Predator movies have never quite recaptured the magic of the original 1987 cult hit, but the franchise has come close when it messes with audience expectations. The Predator movies that are set on earth in the present day, such as Alien Vs Predator, Alien Vs Predator: Requiem, and 2018’s The Predator, are the most critically derided of the franchise’s outings. Just over a year ago, the Peacock streaming service announced they were teaming up with genre filmmaker James Wan for a series adaptation of the 1988 bestseller Stinger, written by Robert R. McCammon (pick up a copy Here) – and even at the time, it was clear that they wouldn’t be keeping the Stinger title, because the show was being referred to as the Untitled Ian McCulloch Project, since Yellowstone consulting producer Ian McCulloch was on board to write and executive produce the show. The project is now going by the title Teacup, and not only has Peacock given it a straight-to-series order (allowing it to bypass the usual pilot process), but Deadline reports that Yvonne Strahovski, whose credits include Chuck, The Predator, The Handmaid’s Tale, Stateless, Dexter, The Tomorrow War, and He’s Out There, has signed on to play the series regular role of Maggie Chenoweth. Strahovski will also be a producer on the show.

Yvonne Strahovski has been tapped for the lead role in the upcoming Peacock series “Teacup.”
Described as a horror thriller, “Teacup” hails from writer Ian McCulloch with James Wan and Atomic Monster attached to executive produce.
Inspired by the Robert McCammon novel “Stinger,” the series is said to follow “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.” Strahovski will star as Maggie Chenoweth.
Strahovski has received two Emmy Award nominations for her work on Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” on which she has starred as Serena Joy Waterford since the show began. The sixth and final season is expected to air in 2025. Strahovski is also known for shows like “Stateless” and “Dexter” and for films like “The Predator” and “The Tomorrow War.”
She is repped by Paradigm, Afa Prime Talent Media, R&cpmk, and Gretchen Rush.

Predator’s journey from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic 1987 sci-fi action film to a successful Hollywood franchise has been remarkable. Dan Trachtenberg’s 2022 Oscar-nominated installment, Prey, starring Amber Midthunder, has been considered one of the franchise’s best films from its inception, and its success quickly led to the announcement of a sequel.

"Prey" was one of the most pleasant surprises of 2022. The film revived the "Predator" franchise after several years in a much-needed timeout following the disappointment that was Shane Black's "The Predator." In fairness, it seems Black signed up to make a different movie than the one we got, but that's neither here nor there. What's important is that director Dan Trachtenberg delivered the goods with his battle between the alien hunter and some unsuspecting Comanche in the 1700s. Now, at long last, Disney has confirmed that a sequel is coming. And, if there is justice in the world, it will be coming to a theater near you.
Very little has been revealed, although Trachtenberg is once again co-writing and directing a movie in the franchise called "Badlands." It will not be a direct sequel to "Prey" and, instead, will be taking us into the future to follow a different...

Recent activity within the Alien and Predator franchises suggests a potential for a third Alien vs. Predator film. Both franchises have recently undergone soft reboots, with successful releases and upcoming projects. A new crossover between Alien and Predator would have the potential for a massive box office hit.
While there haven't been any official announcements, recent activity within each franchise could indicate that a third Alien vs. Predator film would be possible after all these years. Alien vs Predator was released in 2004 when the two franchises were practically dead, and it spawned a sequel, Alien vs. Predator: Requiem. Even though both movies were poorly received by the audience and by the critics, they did okay financially (via The Numbers) and created an entire mythology that sort of exists as its canon within the Alien and Predator movies.

Having two Predator films with different timelines can work in favor of the franchise, broadening its reach and opening new possibilities for more films. The upcoming sequel to Prey will be set after the events of the first film and serve as a direct continuation, while Badlands will be set in the future with a female lead. The franchise is becoming a series of anthology films, allowing for different tones and settings while maintaining the core concept of the Predator.
Even though the two upcoming Predator films following two very different timelines might be odd, it could work in favor of the franchise. It has been confirmed that a sequel to the 2022 critically acclaimed Prey will happen, and another Predator sequel, Badlands, is also in development. These two upcoming Predator movies do not seem connected at first, which can be confusing.

Following the success of Prey, Dan Trachtenberg is returning to direct another Predator film: Badlands, this time set in the future.
Following the wibbly-wobbly mess that was 2018’s The Predator, 20th Century Studios regained its footing with Prey in 2022. Starring Amber Midthunder, it was a back-to-basics approach to the Predator franchise – set in 1719, it told the simple story of Native Americans versus colossal alien big-game hunter.
Director Dan Trachtenberg clearly enjoyed the experience, since he’s signed up to make another Predator film. It won’t be a direct sequel to Prey, however; called Badlands, it is, according to The Hollywood Reporter, set “sometime in the future” and will also feature a female lead. (It’d be amazing if it was Sissy Spacek.)
This initially left us thinking about Predators hunting their human quarry among flying cars and jet packs, until we remembered that 1990’s Predator 2 was set in...

The "Predator" franchise is back and ready for more. After director Dan Trachtenberg rejuvenated the long-running series with "Prey," the thrilling and (mostly) standalone sequel that took the action back in time to colonial America and put a tribe of Comanche characters at the front and center of the story, 20th Century Studios is clearly taking the right lessons from the film's critical success. In an exciting development, The Hollywood Reporter has the news that Trachtenberg is returning to the director's chair for the next installment, currently titled "Badlands." And there was much rejoicing!

A new standalone “Predator” movie is in the works at 20th Century Studios, with filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg set to direct.
Plot details for “Badlands,” which will be set in the future, are currently under wraps, but the film will begin production this year.
Trachtenberg landed an Emmy nomination for his 2022 “Predator” prequel “Prey,” which follows a skilled warrior of the Comanche Nation named Naru (Amber Midthunder) as she sets out to protect her people from a mysterious danger threatening their camp.
Variety chief film critic Owen Gleiberman reviewed the film positively in the scope of the franchise, writing, “As an alien-attack thriller, ‘Prey’ is competent and well-paced, though with little in the way of surprise. Filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg and 20th Century Studios are going hunting again.
Trachtenberg, who earned an Emmy nomination for his 2022 Predator movie Prey, is returning to the sci-fi action horror franchise to make a new installment.
Titled Badlands, the new Predator feature is not a sequel to Prey, which was set in 1719 and centered on a young Comanche woman forced to fight for survival against the intergalactic hunters, but rather a brand new story. Plot details are being kept secret but this one is said to be set sometime in the future. Like Prey, however, it too will feature a female lead.
As with Prey, Trachtenberg wrote the story with Patrick Aison, with the latter penning the screenplay. The project has been working under invisibility for some time and is far enough along that a July start of production is being planned.
Badlands isn’t the only Predator project in the works.

Chase was SNL's standout star, but he only stayed on the sketch-comedy show for a little over a year.
Now, Cory Michael Smith can officially say, "I'm Chevy Chase, and you're not." Jason Reitman’s upcoming SNL 1975 film has cast four more of the real-life characters who made the first season of Saturday Night Live so incredibly special. In a brand-new exclusive released by Deadline, the highly coveted role of Chevy Chase has been won by 37-year-old Smith. Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi and Garrett Morris will be played respectively by Dylan O’Brien, Matt Wood and Lamorne Morris.
In addition to directing SNL 1975, Reitman also serves as the co-writer of the project along with Gil Kenan.

Prey 2 has the potential to break an important Predator franchise record if Disney makes the right release strategy change. Prey 2 needs a theatrical release after the success of its predecessor on Hulu, and it would make up for the missed opportunity with Prey. Prey 2 can become the highest-grossing movie in the Predator franchise if it surpasses Alien vs. Predator's worldwide earnings, which should be achievable with positive word-of-mouth and exciting set-pieces.
If Disney makes one key change to the release of Prey 2, then it could easily break a Predator franchise record that has remained unbroken for the past 20 years. Prey revamped the Predator franchise by setting its story in the Northern Great Plains in 1719. The prequel revolves around a young Comanche woman named Naru who embarks on a hunting ritual in the wilderness and unexpectedly comes across a bloodthirsty hunter from outer space. Prey was hailed as the greatest...

The Avengers is getting a reboot! And no, we’re not talking about the Marvel property. We’re talking about the British TV series that originally aired for six seasons back in the ’60s, running for a total of 161 episodes. Deadline reports that the new take on The Avengers TV series is coming our way from StudioCanal, which owns the rights to The Avengers catalog. Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, the writing team behind the HBO/BBC series Industry, have written the script for the pilot episode and Sex Education director Ben Taylor is on board to direct and executive produce. The Warner Bros. Discovery production company Wall to Wall is co-producing the project with StudioCanal.
Despite rumors that the Avengers reboot could end up on HBO, it’s not clear which network or streamer the new show will end up calling home. The HBO rumors have been denied.

Alita: Battle Angel star Rosa Salazar has joined the cast of Shane Black’s next film, Play Dirty. She’ll appear alongside Mark Wahlberg and Lakeith Stansfield.
After years in development, Shane Black’s thriller Play Dirty appears to be gathering pace. It was only the other day that Lakeith Stansfield was announced as a co-star alongside Mark Wahlberg; it’s now reported that he’ll be joined by Rosa Salazar, whose previous roles include the zesty anime adaptation, Alita: Battle Angel.
Deadline, the outlet that broke the story, doesn’t disclose what role Salazar will be playing in Black’s thriller, which is based on the long-running – and influential – series of novels written by Donald E Westlake.
It’s previously been reported that Play Dirty will draw on several of those novels rather than one in particular, though judging by Deadline’s synopsis, it’ll take at least a...

Amazon MGM‘s Play Dirty is ready to announce its female lead for director Shane Black’s upcoming film. Joining Mark Wahlberg for Black’s crime thriller is Rosa Salazar. Lakeith Stanfield also stars, with a script written by Black, Anthony Bagarozzi, and Chuck Mondry.
According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, Play Dirty focuses on the “professional thief Parker (Wahlberg), who, after being double-crossed and left for dead, sees his hunt for revenge bring with it a shot at the biggest heist of his career. But even with the help of his partner, actor-slash-con artist Grofield (Stanfield), he’ll still need to outsmart a South American dictator, the New York mob, and the world’s richest man if he hopes to stay alive.”
Rosa Salazar’s Play Dirty role remains a mystery. However, the film is inspired by Donald E Westlake’s Parker crime novels, written under the pseudonym Richard Stark.

Shane Black’s next film will be the hard boiled noir Play Dirty, with Lakeith Stanfield and Mark Wahlberg taking the lead roles.
It’s been a few years since we’ve heard anything about Black’s next film, Play Dirty. Originally, the plan was to reunite Black with Robert Downey Jr. While it seems Downey Jr is still involved as a producer through Team Downey – the production company he founded with his wife Susan Downey – The Hollywood Reporter has the story that Mark Wahlberg will now play the central role, and we now learn too that Lakeith Stanfield is on board.
The plot follows “a hardened professional thief who is, naturally, double-crossed and left for dead. His hunt for revenge, however, brings with it a shot at the biggest heist of his career. But, per the studio, even with the help of his partner, an actor-slash-con artist named Grofield...

Hollywood being what it is, “This Is Us” star Sterling K. Brown has spent years deflecting roles to yet again play “a Black guy in a white family who’s finding his way in.”
Brown said no because he’s adamant about not getting pigeonholed, as he demonstrated this year by shifting to “Biosphere,” a post-apocalyptic two-hander with Mark Duplass, and then “American Fiction,” which is simultaneously a family drama, a meta-literary satire and a commentary on race in America today.
“I wouldn’t want to do three movies in a row with the same kind of role,” he says. “The industry wants to say what a Sterling K. Brown type is but when they think they’ve got it locked down I like to mess with that.”
In “American Fiction,” Jeffrey Wright plays Monk, a repressed writer and professor who must knock down his own walls to rejoin the living; Brown is his brother,...

Prey's success demonstrates that Disney doesn't need to rely on nostalgia or expensive special effects to make a good movie. Disney should focus more on storytelling and less on the nostalgia factor in order to recover from a difficult year. Disney should consider investing in smaller projects alongside their big releases, prioritizing good filmmaking over flashy visuals or convoluted backstories.
Despite the fact that Disney had a less-than-good year with its new releases, hope isn't entirely lost for the company, as one surprisingly well-received 2022 film, Prey, acts as a reminder of what Disney needs to do to succeed in the future. In 2023, Disney had 33 major movies to release, with 19 of them having a theatrical release. Unfortunately, many of these films turned out to be box office disappointments. For example, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, The Little Mermaid, and Elemental all performed under what was projected. Worse, many...

Exclusive: Alfie Allen, Charlie Murphy and Jack Gleeson are to star in a Dutch-Belgian thriller series from Ozark co-creator Mark Williams, Night Train Media and Submarine.
They are starring alongside emerging Dutch star Martijn Lakemeier in the eight-part drama, which is for Dutch streamer Videoland and Belgium’s Streamz.
Production has begun in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, with Williams directing along with Arne Toonen, and we hear the ambition is for Safe Harbor to be a returner that aims to balance edge-of-the-seat thrills with character-based stories and a twisty plot line. Further shooting will take place in Belgium and Ireland, Deadline understands.

Actor Cailee Spaeny has confirmed that the events of Alien: Romulus will unfold between those of 1979’s Alien and 1986’s Aliens.
When it was announced last year that Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez would be heading up a new movie in the Alien franchise, the line was that its story (co-written by Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues) would be unconnected to the previous films.
That’s likely still true, but we now at least know when the plot of Alien: Romulus will take place – between the events of 1979’s Alien and 1986’s Aliens. Rumours of this timeline placement have been floating around for a few months now, but actor Cailee Spaeny, who has a currently undisclosed role in Romulus, recently confirmed this to Variety's Michaela Zee.
“It’s supposed to slot in between the first movie and the second movie,” Spaeny said. “They brought the same team from Aliens, the James Cameron film.

The original Predator film, released in 1987, sees Arnold Schwarzenegger and a squad of commandos facing off against a deadly alien in the jungle. A new image taken at Mad Monster Atlanta 2023 sees two members of this squad, Carl Weathers' Dillon and Jesse Ventura's Blain, having a friendly reunion. While John McTiernan's original film remains a beloved classic, 2022's Prey gives the movie a run for its money as the best in the franchise.
Predator stars Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura reunite in a friendly photo, 36 years after the release of the movie. Directed by John McTiernan, the 1987 film sees Arnold Schwarzenegger take on the role of Dutch, the leader of an elite squad of commandos who encounter a deadly warrior while on a mission in the Central American Jungle. During an interview last week, Tom Hiddleston (Loki) confirmed that his work on the film The Life of Chuck – the latest Stephen King adaptation from Mike Flanagan, who has previously been at the helm of the Stephen King adaptations Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep (and is also developing a series adaptation of The Dark Tower for Amazon Studios) – was complete. Flanagan has since taken to social media to confirm that filming has wrapped completely… and to let us know that The Life of Chuck is not a horror movie. Which makes sense, since we’ve previously heard that the movie will be similar in tone to the likes of Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Green Mile (and Hiddleston himself compared it to The Shawshank Redemption).

Get to the convention! There was a mini Predator reunion over the weekend as Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura met up at a convention, bringing together two of the key cast members of the fan favorite action flick. If only we could have gotten Bill Duke and that other guy…

I’ll be here today and tomorrow signing autographs and taking pictures with all the fans. Plus it’s a Predator reunion! Got to see Carl Weathers.” Weathers played Al Dillon (you son of a bitch!).
The original Predator, which came out in 1987, spawned a full-blown franchise for better or worse, with the first sequel, Predator 2, arriving in 1990. The series took a lengthy break before crossovers Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007) and...

Two stars of Predator had a mini-reunion 36 years after the iconic film was first released in theaters.
Originally released back in 1987, Predator spawned a massive franchise that's still ongoing today. Many fans still consider the original film that started it all to be the best part of the franchise, in part due to its solid cast led by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The movie also starred Jesse Ventura and Carl Weathers, and the two actors recently reunited when they both appeared at the Mad Monster Party fan convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Ventura shared a photo of the two reuniting on his official Facebook page.

Mike Flanagan – who has previously been at the helm of the Stephen King adaptations Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep (and is also developing a series adaptation of The Dark Tower for Amazon Studios) – recently went into production on another King adaptation, The Life of Chuck… and now, during an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, star Tom Hiddleston (Loki) has confirmed that his work on the film has been completed. While talking about the film, Hiddleston also compared it to one of the most popular King adaptations, The Shawshank Redemption!
Based on the short story from King’s 2020 anthology If It Bleeds, The Life of Chuck consists of three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse, beginning with his death from a brain tumor and ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.
Hiddleston is playing Chuck, with Mark Hamill (Star Wars) playing a character named Albie.

The original Candy Man, Willy Wonka, comes to theaters right before Christmas, bringing scrumdiddlyumptious sweets, jaunty tunes, and cheer to the holiday season! Early tracking for the Paul King-directed origin story is here, with the Quorum predicting a $20M-$23M opening. This estimate is early, and predictions for Wonka‘s pre-Christmas box office launch could increase the closer we get to showtime.
Promotion for Wonka is doing an admirable job of getting the film in front of potential audience members, with two trailers, a GQ cover story, and a guest spot for Timothée Chalamet (Willy Wonka) scheduled for November 11, 2023. The trailers enticed 31M and 9M viewers, respectively, with audiences eager to meet Chalamet’s young chocolatier and Hugh Grant’s wise-cracking Oompa-Loompa.

Color design will be crucial in bringing the eerie and mysterious world of the Underworld to life in Percy Jackson, making it as captivating on-screen as it is in the books. The unique appearance of the Asphodelians, sculptural immovable creatures wrapped in shrouds, adds to the unsettling ambiance of the sparsely treed environment in the Underworld. The design team had to think creatively in coordinating the costumes for the main characters, given the constraint of their bright orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirts, ensuring they harmoniously blend into the various environments they encounter.
Color design will play an important role in Percy Jackson - even in the Underworld according to new comments from staff, revealing that viewers can expect Hades' realm to be as mysterious on-screen as it is for the heroes traversing it.

It's not mentioned out loud in any of the movies, but the alien species in the "Predator" series is called the Yautja, pronounced "Yah-oot-Cha." Although there have been comics and other pieces of expanded universe ephemera to explain where the Yautja come from and what their civilization might be like, the movies have depicted them merely as a species of intergalactic hunters that have arranged their entire society around the challenge of hunting for sport. They could have a rich arts community back on their homeworld, or perhaps a stirring and complicated political culture, but we've only ever seen the hunting part of their society. Perhaps the hunters are merely wealthy weekend warriors who can afford to go game hunting on other planets, while other Yaujta protest their wasteful brutality.
Throughout their multiple film appearances, the Yautja have mostly hunted humans, although there are two notorious films from the 2000s...

Conventional wisdom would have you believe that Yuletide is the unquestionable highlight in everyone’s calendar and, for a lot of westerners, that is probably true. After all, who can argue with the universal appeal of eating yourself into a stupor (with an excessive intake of gingerbread) and pretending to be enthused about the fourth bloody pair of socks that you’ve unwrapped on a cold December morning?
Yet I — alongside legions of horror fans — have always maintained that the spooky season is really the most wonderful time of the year. An excuse to let your freak flag fly, to celebrate all that’s creepy and kooky in this world, and of course, to coerce your normie friends into watching tons of scary movies; Halloween is essentially the perfect holiday for somebody like me.

Prey successfully revitalized the Predator franchise by returning to its core concept and offering a relatable lead character to root for. The film's decision to tell the story from a Native American perspective added a refreshing, culturally significant element. The inclusion of Naru's whistle during the final battle with the Feral Predator carries deep cultural meaning, as she is specifically summoning a mythic indigenous monster known as the "Mupitsl."
A behind-the-scenes detail about Prey makes Naru's final battle with the Feral Predator even better. After the 2018 critical and commercial underperformance of Shane Black's The Predator, the series was even considered damaged goods. Action franchises tend to go bigger with every new installment, and "Predator" is no exception. Where the original 1987 film pits a small group of sweat-soaked paramilitaries against a Predator (aka. Yautja) in a dense South American jungle, its first two sequels expand the setting to a dystopian version of Los Angeles circa 1997 and then an entire extraterrestrial planet. But while "The Predator" tried to dial things back to muddled results, director Dan Trachtenberg's prequel "Prey" is much more successful, with its story unfolding on the unconquered Great Plains in the early 18th century.
Winding the clock back simultaneously gives Trachtenberg an organic excuse to simplify the Predator's arsenal, which helps to level the playing field for the alien hunter and the film's human protagonist: the aspiring Comanche warrior Naru (Amber Midthunder). This approach of stripping "Predator" down to its basics also extends to the themes in "Prey." Much like...

This review was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the film being covered here wouldn't exist. It's rare when autism has been portrayed accurately on screen. It is a sensitive subject to tackle, and while it might not be as stigmatized as it was even just 10 years ago, films like The Predator, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, and Music have characters that are built entirely around negative stereotypes. So often these characters are uniformly portrayed as robotic, emotionless, and even unlikable or obnoxious, while in real life people on the spectrum behave differently from one another.

Only Super Bowl weekend had a lower total gross in 2023, with around $63 million for this weekend. But even on a weekend when no film grossed over $15 million, it matters to studios who gets the bragging rights that come with taking the top spot.
Warner Bros. sent its estimate of $14.7 million for the second weekend of “The Nun II.” Disney had just before claimed $14.5 million for “A Haunting in Venice,” the latest Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot Agatha Christie film.
This includes guesses for Sunday. The general consensus among rivals is that both figures are too high, but “The Nun II” is better positioned to prevail in a race that might even be closer than it seems. But we really won’t know until Sunday’s actual results are known.
If “The Nun II” did reach $14.7 million, it came with a slightly-better-than-usual drop of only 55 percent for a horror sequel (even...

There is a possibility of Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to the Predator franchise in "Prey 2" through various scenarios, such as time jumps or playing an ancestor of his original Predator character. "Prey 2" may feature a time jump to the present day, allowing Schwarzenegger's character to appear in the back end of the film and continue the battle against the Predator. Schwarzenegger could play a new character in "Prey 2" who exists in the same historical era as the film, potentially serving as a mentor figure to the young hunter Naru.
If Prey 2 gets made, could the franchise’s original star Arnold Schwarzenegger join the cast of the sequel despite the 268-year gap between the two Predator stories? A prequel to the first four Predator films, Prey takes place in the Northern Great Plains in 1719, where a young Comanche woman named Naru takes on the iconic alien to prove herself as a competent hunter.

Unused concept art in the sci-fi industry is common but some designs were avoided for good reason, preserving the mystery and atmosphere of movies. Many sci-fi movies rely on CGI to create creatures, resulting in hundreds of designs. Some unused designs were not unique or fitting for the movie's universe. The original designs of certain iconic creatures, like the Xenomorph and Jabba the Hutt, were scrapped and changed for the better, enhancing the impact and creepiness of the movies.
Unused concept art isn't a rare occurrence in the sci-fi industry due to extensive number of creature designs, but some of them were avoided for a reason, and those decisions saved the movies. Many film artists create character and monster designs to visualize their appearance on the screen and determine whether they're effective enough for the plot. While some creatures were destined to lead the narrative in a science fiction world,...
