I think Flash has found it's identity. It's going to be a lighthearted show, for the most part, with sprinkled in dark and shocking elements much like Arrow. This episode was probably the weakest yet, which considering two stellar episodes, isn't a big deal. I think it had some great moments and very good character interaction which had been missing from the first few episodes.
With the exception of the death of Barry's mother, the show has lacked emotional depth. But even Cisco and Caitlyn had some emotional balance to their characters this week. Detective West is becoming the best part of the entire series. It's funny how both cops in Arrow and The Flash give us some of our favorite scenes. While I still believe the cast of The Flash needs some improving, they have already grown into their characters more each week.
I thought the villain, though typically underdeveloped, was the best the show has had so far, and I'm glad they didn't kill him off and began the prison beneath Star Labs. It brings another interesting aspect to the show. But I still believe this show lacks the reoccurring story arc. I know we get a little tease into who exactly Wells is every week, but I'm almost ready for Reverse Flash to appear. I just want to be wowed. It was also nice to see the relationship between Barry and Caitlyn for once (without Cisco). There's a hint at romance which is all we need right now.
So even though the episode as a whole wasn't as exciting as the first two, it's still a strong showing for the fastest man alive. A little tweaks and it could be on Arrows level.
+Strong character driven material
+Cisco & Caitlyn showed different sides
+Detective West continues to steal the show
+Villain's are improving
-Almost tired of the Well's endings already
-Where's the underlining story arc
