Good message does not equal a good movie

Warning: Spoilers
"Who I Am" is a 3-minute live action short film from 2014 and the first work written and directed by Joshua Widgren. We also see him in this film (and his mother). This is a little anti-bullying movie and the message is honorable. But sadly the execution is not and it looks pretty amateurish, even for a first work. Nothing memorable about it at all, it seems more like a school project, but I am not sure an entry here on IMDb is justified. The picture is of course not accurate as it refers to the German Tom Schilling movie "Who Am I" (also from 2014) and I guess looking at the rating and the number of votes, probably 90% of the voters mistook it for that one. But this one here is an entirely different work. And not a good one. The filmmaker afterward made a movie called "How to Make the Best Film Ever" and there is certainly some irony to that looking at this one we have here in terms of quality. Core component is that Widgren needs to step things up a lot in terms of his craft if he plans to have a career in film. Nothing good about this one here except the message. Acting, flashback, script and the entire concept are underwhelming. If you read these phrases you see during the film on a sheet of paper, it is the same and you save some time too. i was glad that this one here only ran for 3 minuets. Watch something else instead.

Could have done more with the movie. That was rather weak. 3/10 *
