Feels like part of something better and, although professionally made, the conclusion is really unfair and unsatisfying

This short film takes a few minutes to set up the two main characters (a two-person ambulance crew), and very quickly we find ourselves in the back of the ambulance as they respond to help a pregnant woman. From this point we equally quickly find that the pregnancy is not all it seems, and stakes rapidly raise in the confines of the moving vehicle.

There is a lot to enjoy in this punchy short film. For the second half it really has an intensity to it that is engaging, and the production edits together well to add the feeling of movement and real world with shots of the ambulance. It is almost a shame then that the film never feels like it is whole and rather feels like it is a small sampler of a slightly bigger short film that they didn't make. Part of this is how quickly and briefly the tensions escalates in the vehicle on the way to the conclusion; I would really have liked a slightly longer built to draw the tension out a little more. Of course the bigger part of this is that the film's conclusion is hugely unsatisfying; I won't say more than this, but I suspect most people will feel the same way.

That said, it is pretty slick for what it does, it is just hard to get away from the feeling that it needed to do more, and have a stronger conclusion at the end of it.
