Good film, but could have needed more Thieme

Warning: Spoilers
Here we have another 90-minute television movie. This was released roughly a year ago and is the fourth and so far last entry to the successful crime movie franchise with Hinnerk Schönemann, Thomas Thiele and Swiss director Markus Imboden. The trio also worked together already on "Mörder auf Amrum" a brilliant German crime movie from 2009. The strength of these films is the comedy aspect. Good stuff from writer Holger Karsten Schmidt on a regular basis. Yes, the core genre is still crime with thriller and drama aspects, but what makes this actually worth a watch compared to the hundreds of other crime films out there is the humor. I only saw the very first film "Mörderisches Wespennest" and this fourth film and in comparison I would say that the comedy was better in the first, but the drama was better in this one maybe. Both pretty decent films. If you know a bit about German cinema, you will certainly recognize Florian Lukas ("Good Bye Lenin") in here as a cold-blooded sharp-shooting contract killer. There are some pretty graphic scenes, like a man being shot in the head or two rape scenes, but I actually approve of these, because it shows the bold approach of the filmmakers here. These crimes are evil, so not just talk about them, but depict them as harshly as they happen. If there is one criticism I have it is maybe that Thomas Thieme could have been included more in here. Such a talented actor with a truly great body of work and criminally underrated. Apart from that, I would have preferred Schönemann's character to fall in love with the female rookie cop from the first film instead of being so close to the two women in this one here, a former colleague and a public prosecutor. But that would have been too perfect to be true I guess. Nonetheless, a good movie and I recommend it. If they make more films in the future, I certainly will give them a try.
