Thalapathy Vijay made his acting debut as a child artiste in the 1984 film Vetri, directed by his father. He then regularly went to star in his father’s films such as Kudumbam, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Vasantha Raagam, Sattam Oru Vilayattu and Ithu Engal Neethi.
Years later, he made his debut as a hero under Sac’s direction in Naalaya Theerpu, which hit the marquee in 1992. Vijay has gone on to star in eight of Sac’s films, and now there is a high possibility that father and son may come together again.

Film: "Naan Sigappu Manithan"; Cast: Vishal Krishna, Lakshmi Menon, Iniya, Jagan, Sunder Ramu, Jayaprakash and Saranya Ponvannan; Director: Thiru; Rating: **1/2
In Thiru's "Naan Sigappu Manithan" (Nsm), neither do you have a hero to cheer for (because he's asleep mostly as he suffers from a rare sleep disorder) nor a typical villain character. You don't have a comedian and comedy tracks to keep you entertained. You have a second heroine but she doesn't the play the hero's love interest. Yet what is it that makes this commercial Tamil outing a laudable effort?
Nsm stands testimonial to the fact that a simple story that has been milked dry over the years can still be narrated in myriad engaging ways. One such way is what we.

Chennai, April 2: Cinematographer Richard M. Nathan, who recently completed work on Tamil action-thriller "Naan Sigappu Manithan", says shooting a film with a hand-held camera is physically taxing and takes a toll on the body.
He says even if he's paid a hefty sum by producers, he won't shoot a film using a hand-held camera at least for the next two years.
"Shooting with hand-held camera has been physically exhausting. When you're using a hand-held camera, you (cinematographer) have to literally carry its weight on your shoulder. A hand-held usually weighs about 18 kg and you have to carry it for at least 12 hours a day..
