Blumhouse’s feature take of video game Five Nights at Freddy’s is going theatrical day and date with Peacock on Oct. 27 this year. The pic will go wide.
This is the fourth Blumhouse movie to day and date with Universal’s streaming service after Halloween Kills, Halloween Ends, and Firestarter.
While arguments can be made that these movies’ domestic ticket sales were impacted by their availability in homes, Halloween Ends opened to $40M, then shorted out at $64M. Uni had bragging rights that the threequel scored a top Nielsen debut over its opening weekend of Oct. 14-16 with 717 million minutes viewed.
Halloween Kills grossed $92M stateside after a $49.4M opening. Both Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends were under the pre-pandemic domestic grosses of the first 2018 reboot. Firestarter flamed out at the box office, making only $9.7M U.S./Canada, $15M WW.

A couple weeks ago, we learned that several cast members from the Netflix series Sweet Tooth, which is an adaptation of the DC Vertigo comic book that ran from 2009 to 2013 for a total of 40 issues, had been promoted to series regular status for the upcoming second season of the show. Those promoted cast members were Naledi Murray, Neil Sandilands, and Marlon Williams, who play Wendy, General Abbot, and Johnny Abbot. Now Netflix has released a teaser trailer for Sweet Tooth season 2, announcing that the new season will premiere on Thursday, April 27th! The teaser trailer can be seen in the embed above.
Created by Jeff Lemire, Sweet Tooth was a coming-of-age fable of Gus, a boy/deer hybrid who leaves home to find the world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins a ragtag family of hybrids and humans searching to find answers behind the event… ultimately discovering a vast...

Though you’ll undoubtedly forget many times while you’re watching it, Prime Video’s music drama Daisy Jones & The Six is not based on a true story. At least, not really. Adapted from Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel of the same name, this series about the titular band was inspired by the real life drama of classic ’70s rock group Fleetwood Mac.
While Fleetwood Mac is very much real (and great!), Daisy Jones & The Six is not real (though also great!). Still, that does not make the Behind the Music-esque drama they experience in these 10 episodes feel any less real. Contributing to that sense of verisimilitude is that the cast of Daisy Jones & The Six all fit their roles to a tee.
Aside from the series two eminently recognizable leads (and a bit of Raylan Givens thrown in there for good measure), this series enjoys the...

I'll admit that Night Court Season 1 Episode 8 is probably my favorite offering so far this season.
There's something about doubling down on the absurdity of the court's usual clientele by adding some perennial extra craziness that rings true to the original series.
Meanwhile, learning about how (and with whom) Harry fell in love and moved upstate scratches that itch of missing him.
Remembering how the original series had several guest stars who recurred with delightful regularity, I can't help but consider the quirkier defendants we've seen for potential returns.
I suspect we won't see the vampire couple again, but Pam is in my "Strong Maybe" pile. It helps that she stuck around for multiple scenes.
Of course, being the Blood Moon, they may all be one-offs, although it would be interesting if Satan's daughter, Marsha, were to check in occasionally.
Olivia: When Satan speaks to you, is it in your head or from a dog?...

Netflix‘s Wednesday is still a hot topic of discussion as one of the most popular reboots of the famous goth family. One of Wednesday’s beloved characters is Enid Sinclair, played by actor Emma Myers. She has her own turmoil as the only female werewolf among her younger brothers and has yet to wolf out. But Emma Myers agrees with fans that the key reason why Enid began to shift is because of raging hormones.
Emma Myers as Enid in ‘Wednesday’ Episode 1 | via Netflix Enid’s mother ridicules her for not completing the wolf change in ‘Wednesday’
As advertised, Nevermore Academy is a safe haven for outcasts with unique supernatural abilities. Fans meet Enid when she is introduced to her new and complete opposite roommate, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega). Enid breaks down the four main cliques of fangs, furs, stoners, and scales. In case you haven’t checked out New Blood Interactive’s Gloomwood, it’s pretty good. Scratch that, it’s really good. So good in fact, that the game’s launch a few weeks ago has quickly become New Blood Interactive’s best ever.
New Blood Interactive took to the Steam page for Gloomwood with the announcement, saying that since the game’s launch in Early Access, Gloomwood‘s sales have eclipsed the launches of Dusk, Amid Evil, “and even the mighty Ultrakill.” Heck, even Aaron touts Gloomwood as the makings of a Stealth Horror classic.

They’ve been gathering feedback from the game’s launch over the past few weeks, and are already working on adding more content. Batgirl won’t be flying onto HBO Max screens, but a select group of insiders is getting to see the film during secret screenings on the Warner Bros. lot this week, multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. They are said to be for people who worked on the movie, both cast and crew, as well as representatives and executives.
One source described them as “funeral screenings,” held before the film is sent off to an undisclosed afterlife, with footage locked away in a vault, either physical or digital.
On Aug. 2, Batgirl became the most talked-about film in the world when news broke that new Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav had opted to scrap the 90 million DC film in order to take a tax write-down. (The CEO of the newly merged company is seeking 3 billion in cost savings.)

Plot: Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” tells the story of House Targaryen.
Review: After the underwhelming final season of Game of Thrones, HBO has been developing multiple spin-offs, prequels, and sequels to the fantasy series. With a pilot being completed and scrapped for a prequel set ten thousand years before GoT titled Bloodmoon, all eyes shifted to House of the Dragon. With very high expectations from fans and critics, House of the Dragon sticks closer to the era of the original series. With familiar families, locations, and tone, House of the Dragon looks every bit like the Game of Thrones we know so well. HBO launches its first “Game of Thrones” spinoff this Sunday, and the “House of the Dragon” prequel series showrunners know there’s a lot at stake.
The new fantasy drama, which takes place about 200 years before the world of “Thrones,” and the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, boasts “GoT” universe author George R.R. Martin as co-creator with Ryan Condal (“Colony”). Both serve as executive producers alongside “GoT” alum Miguel Sapochnik, who directs and serves as a co-showrunner with Condal.
Based on Martin’s bestseller “Fire & Blood,” the show will look back to a time when the Targaryens ruled Westeros.
There’s an impressive team behind the show, and they are aware that expectations are higher than for other freshman shows. In fact, “House of the Dragon” wasn’t the first “GoT” spinoff that HBO tried to kick-start.

When House of the Dragon first premieres on Aug. 21 on HBO, Game of Thrones fans should find a lot of it quite familiar. Just like the flagship series upon which it’s spun off from, House of the Dragon is a big endeavor. The show features a sprawling cast of King’s Landing schemers, tons of twists and turns, and more dragons than the side of a 1970s panel van.
If anything, House of the Dragon could end up feeling as epic or more so than Game of Thrones despite adapting a smaller section of George R.R. Martin’s source material. Interestingly enough, however, the showrunner behind it originally had a much smaller, more intimate vision of Martin’s Westeros.
House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal (formerly of Colony and Rampage) has a lengthy history with George R.R. Martin’s epic novels.

Steve Toussaint stars as Corlys Velaryon in Episode 1 of House of the Dragon Season 1. Pic credit: HBO/Ollie Upton
In House of the Dragon, Steve Toussaint will portray Corlys Velaryon, the head of a very wealthy and powerful house.
He has many names, including Lord of the Tides, Master of Driftmark, but many readers of George R. R. Martin’s works will know him as the Sea Snake.

HBO’s awards darling Game of Thrones was once again in attendance at last night’s Emmys, where it scooped two prizes: Outstanding Supporting Actor for Peter Dinklage and, much to the surprise of anyone disappointed by season 8, Outstanding Drama.
It’s no secret that the truncated series finale garnered mixed reviews, with some viewers even going so far as to launch a petition calling on HBO to hit the hard reset button and redo season 8 from scratch – ignoring Thrones‘ sky-high budget, logistics, and common sense.
In all seriousness, a heated debate followed the eighth and final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, though it was one Kit Harington managed to avoid, largely because he hasn’t yet seen season 8 in its entirety.

Following her ethereal, gorgeous debut film A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Ana Lily Amirpour divided audiences with The Bad Batch, a post-apocalyptic tale that still carried her singular vision. The director is now back with her third film, which has amassed another impressive cast.

Inspired by 80s and 90s fantasy-adventure films, the story follows “a girl with strange and dangerous abilities who escapes from a mental asylum and finds freedom o the “hedonistic streets of New Orleans.” Said to be a mix of strange, violent, and humorous sequences” it will, of course have a notable soundtrack ranging from heavy metal to Italian techno.
Amirpour said earlier this year, “I wanted to tell a stylized fairy tale and in New Orleans, you have a specific, unique place where there is so much history...
