Sunday’s episode of True Detective was its fifth, meaning we’ve passed the halfway point on the HBO anthology series’ second season. By this time last season, we knew Rust and Marty pretty well — though their actions continued to intrigue us. We’d experienced the brutal ballet of the six-minute, no-cuts gun battle. We’d watched them track a bad guy and cover up a crime scene. We’d been enticed with the confusing-yet-ominous name of “The Yellow King.”

Cross’ first role since Desperate‘s Bree will be Charmaine Briggs, the latest in a long string of novelist Walter Briggs’ wives. Walter’s daughters think Charmaine is sexually abusing their dad — hence the involvement of Benson & Co. (If the case reminds you of of Casey Kasem’s family drama, that’s no accident.)

Hgtv was planning on airing a new house-flipping show, Flip It Forward. However, following a revelation by Right Wing Watch that the proposed show’s hosts had a history of religious bigotry, stalking an abortion doctor and anti-gay activities like protesting pride celebrations. Hgtv has cancelled the show.
Let’s start with the good news. Despite rumors that Fox might give in to the powerful influence of producer Seth MacFarlane, Fox has decided to cancel the offensive, unfunny Dads. Unfortunately, there’s also bad news — the promising and endearing Enlisted (also the Chris Meloni sitcom Surviving Jack, which inspired strong feelings in few people). In worse news for comedy, the network also passed on two promising-sounding pilots, Dead Boss and Fatrick. Fatrick reunited Ray Ford with Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 creator Nahnatchka Kajhan. Dead Boss was a remake of a British comedy with Jane Krakowski and Amy Sedaris.

“The Fosters” Showrunners Respond to Questions About Jude, and “Arrow” Plans a Birds of Prey Episode

TV Guide reports that Jessica de Gouw will be returning to Arrow as The Huntress in an episode titled “Birds of Prey”. There’s a Black Canary in Starling City now, so does that mean Felicity will start calling herself “Oracle“?
Steven Moffat talked with Vulture about this week’s Sherlock and said this was the scene he wanted to see ever since he was a boy reading Arthur Conan Doyle‘s stories. “I remember being a 12-year-old kid thinking, Oh, why didn’t we see Sherlock be the best man? Please, can we see that? That would be the best story in the whole world, and I don’t care if there’s a crime in it or not, because it must have been the best and worst speech of all time!”
