Slightly more serious at the same time way more ridiculous
bbickley13-921-586647 March 2015
Nothing like watching a flick were a girl gets into a gun battle wearing nothing but a pair of boots.

The two detectives from the first movie are back. This time with a new cat (the old one does not do straight-to-video, I guess) on the run.

Replacing the beautiful scenery of Serbia, with a not as nicely shoot New Orleans, This time a hot stripper steals blue prints from an army base and is being hunted for them.

Antony and Julian come into the case when the Julian's cousin, who was there when the whole thing went down, needs his help to figure out what happen.

It's far cheesier and pokes fun at itself and the original movie by being far more over the top, but that's what makes it fun.

Julian seems to get to be the better detective in this film, and this time both Antony and Julian get love interest.

The movie also dabbles in the area of superhero movie with the new Cat having a Wolverine style origin, and a villain who looks like a reject from an Iron Man movie. You usually don't use the term "jumping the Shark" when it comes to movies, but this bad boy changed genres and becomes a complete different, outrageous, element, but I found the whole thing noting but hilarious.

I really liked it. I found it interesting in ways that differ and the first one.

the sequel fails the original
norman-washington-bent27 August 2014
The cinematography doesn't hold up to the original as you can tell that they were on a limited budget. None the less the action gets spliced with humor that seems comical and changes the tone for a moment but doesn't integrate well. The writing could of been better and quite honestly they could of been more inventive. There were characters the were interesting but so many missed opportunities to exploit them fully. I was disappointed but mildly entertained. I'm glad at least the two main characters are in there but was very disappointed to see that was it and there wasn't necessary much continuity from the previous movie as the first one suggested that they created an agency which seemed to only continue in this movie as a brief mention. I want to say it had to be budgetary constraints otherwise this could of been a better movie (also poor story plot).

mildly Entertaining and pretty silly

Warning: Spoilers
I was hoping to have a repeat of the original but it started like a soft porn movie which I found distracting from the plot, it was really silly but once the original two characters came into the plot it settled down into the amusing and silly format of the original. It entertained me enough to keep me watching but it lacked that polished edge that you know costs more than these producers had to spend, more amusing stuff would have carried it along better and there was the character Big Ray who actually was the best actor in the movie, but played only a tiny part, pity. The grand finale was just really rubbish though, pitting an Iron Man like suit against some wolverine like woman, it was just crappy nonsensical plot line, something more simple and more inline with the humour would have carried it off better.

Very stupid movie filmed in a great location.

Warning: Spoilers
I believe John Stockwell has become the king of B-movies. This is definitely a B-movie. It opens with a fantastic scene where a nude stripper has to climb into the attic in the Officer's club at Ft Polk, then shoots it out, still nude, with a group of MPs. There isn't a great reason to have that except to establish the type of entertainment it wanted to be.

Most of the movie is in New Orleans with a part-time P.I. going for a cooking contest. There they find clues to an effort to steal USA military secrets for the enemy.

There are a few clever things about the movie but overall it is NOT a worthwhile viewing. Lots of dirty talk and lots of killing. I saw it because I used to live in and around the New Orleans area, and enjoyed seeing the places I used to frequent. Other than that it wasn't worth my time.

John Stockwell's Level Has Fallen
FilmMan478 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This director John Stockwell did made some nice films like blue crush & into the blue with Paul walker & now this lame efforts why is he doing this he could have just use his skills else where sadly he is directing lame scripts these days the first one cat run 2011 which started Paz Vega was somehow tolerable but this is even worse.

I am not sure under what category should this film go into seriously is this a spy, buddy cop comedy or simply a nonsense genre one if one could think of it.

Remember those soft core films that used to came in 90s this film tried to ape those & failed hard specially the parody of famous action films by Andy Sidaris it is 2014 originality lacks here so many things are lifted from previous hit films like bad boys 2 of will smith & the biggest surprise was the appearance of iron man suite a woman was inside her instead of tony stark if marvel or Disney company catches this film these guys are in trouble.

The story of this is the same of the first installment plus & why is this called cat run 2 Catalina is not even in this film but it does have few naked chicks & some gun shooting everything is repeated again.

The Plot:Tatiana & 2 fake detectives uncover a mystery that involves high level personnel including the military.

The Cast:i wont name all of them all male actors are annoying but highlights are the women here i have to mention Maria Rogers she has the best body ever the only lady i rooted for when she was blazing guns.

Hard to say but this is the truth John Stockwell level has fallen in a pit he is about to direct the reboot of kick boxer i have no hope left Jean Claude Van Damme Must be angry over this.

There are plenty of good chick flicks out there better then this even Charlie's angles is good you name it.

Overall Cat Run 2 2014 is a forgotten sequel along with its predecessor my rating is 3/10.

DO NOT FEED THE GATORS
nogodnomasters18 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This film starts out similar to the first film. Strippers entertain at an Army Research Base and download some classified material. Our main characters are inadequately introduced and assumes you have seen the first film...which BTW I loved. The action moves to N' Orleans and attempts to capture much of the local flavor through a cooking contest and subscripts.

The subscripts was an idea stolen from "Airplane!" The original film had great characters who helped carry the film. D.L. Hughley and Janet McTeer added a comic element in the original.. Paz Vega in the first film totally smokes Winter Ave Zoli with her sensuality.

The second feature was a let down and could have been a lot better. This was an inferior script.

Parental Guidance: F-bomb, sex, full frontal nudity (Maria Rogers, Winter Ave Zoli +uncredited)

Good light action

Warning: Spoilers
In the intro two Russian strippers are taken to a military base. During their routine, one of them makes her way to the server room and downloads some info on a drive. She's caught. A firefighter ensues, for some reason this stripper decides to sacrifice herself, while the other escapes.

Then we meet the two goofs from part 1. They now have a restaurant. One of them gets the other, the chef, on some cooking contest. So off they go to New Orleans. There they discover that a cousin of one of them is being held responsible for some of the mess of the intro. So they decide to use their private investigator skills to clear his name.

They visit the morgue and take a look at the dead stripper's body. Suddenly the other stripper arrives. She says good-bye to her friend and finds the drive hidden among her clothes. The goofs manage not to get caught. They then go to the strip joint and interrogate the owner. Meanwhile, ninjas are after the stripper and want the info on the drive. We meet the stripper's handler and the boss.

When the info the stripper recovers proves rather useless, the boss decides that the stripper is disposable. That changes things quite a bit.

Cat Run 2 is more accomplished than part 1. Fortunately the two goofs aren't all that much in the center of the movie. Rather the story of the stripper/agent is, the info, and the guys after her. But it retains some of the silliness; a good part of the dialogue is just adolescent stuff. The nudity is outstanding though and much improved compared to part one. The action is surprisingly well done. For a sexy light action movie, an uncommon genre to begin with, Cat Run 2 is an enjoyable and recommended movie.
