- NOA HOLLANDER has it all, rich and beautiful, men want her and women want to be her. Amos Dahari is a 28 year old baker who still lives with his parents and on the verge of being engaged to his girlfriend of 9 years, when his and Noah's paths cross. Noa just after a break up with her Hollywood boyfriend and Amos after an awkward failed marriage proposal by his girlfriend.—Shawn Stein
- Amos and Vanessa from Bat Yam [a Tel Aviv suburb] are celebrating nine years together (plus two weeks) in one of the most prestigious restaurants in Israel (this is the first time Amos has visited such a restaurant. Vanessa had insisted.)
Amos knows that Vanessa is expecting a ring, so he's thinking it over. To propose or not to propose? He's confused. He isn't sure if he still loves her or if he just doesn't feel comfortable leaving her after 9 years together. He also knows that his whole family can't stand her and that adds to his uncertainty. The fact that Noa Hollander, daughter of one of the richest tycoons in Israel and one of the most beautiful and famous women in Israel is at that same moment dining at that very same restaurant just distracts him and confuses him even further .
Vanessa is tired of waiting for Amos to propose, so in the presence of all the other diners in the restaurant she stands up, starts singing, takes out a ring and proposes to him herself . The embarrassed Amos stammers a refusal and absorbs a taste of her fury, or more precisely, a taste of artichoke soup. On his shirt. Vanessa dramatically leaves the restaurant and the discomfited Amos remains there, to return home alone. His brother Assaf refuses to come pick him up. The person who comes to his aid is precisely Noa Hollander for whom the amusing-sad scene at the restaurant hit a chord. She too just broke up with her boyfriend (according to the press, after she discovered he was cheating on her.( She suggests that Amos join her, her friends and her agent since she was 17, Tsvika (who really isn't happy with the presence of the anonymous Amos) for a night out on the town. Of course Amos says yes, what man in his right mind would say "no" to Noa Hollander. "But where are we going?" Amos asks, and all he gets in response is an impish smile.
A huge billboard of Noa Hollander in her bathing suit adorns the front of a tall building. She doesn't like it, and the assignment is to vandalize it. That is the only way they'll replace it . Noa, her friends and Amos find themselves hanging between heaven and earth, on a bright starry night, spray painting Noa Hollander's figure staring at them, while the worried Tsvika looks on from the roof and cautions them to be careful . Amos' brother calls. He wants to make sure Amos is OK. The discovery that Amos is rappelling on a building with Noa Hollander, the one from TV and the underwear campaigns sounds to him like a tall tale, but Amos is not a liar, so he tells him he's coming too! But by the time he gets there, Noa and Amos are not there.
Noa drags her entourage and Amos to the Opera Club (one of the hottest clubs in Israel). She is depressed following her breakup with Pete (a very famous American TV host a la Ryan Seacrest) and the best way to deal with that is to party . Tsvika doesn't like it. He also doesn't like Amos. He is suspicious of his motives. He has always and will always take care of Noa. The Opera Club is not Amos' home territory, it is the exact opposite of Amos' home territory: paparazzi at the entrance, lots of camera flashes aimed at Noa, and inside its extremely loud and everyone is looking at her . She's used to being at the center of things. He isn't . He's also a little worried about Vanessa, he wants to call her. Nine years is a long time, she is the only thing he knows and this new world he's entered tonight is a little destabilizing.
Noa takes him to the balcony, and when it's just the two of them, with a glass of wine (the third) she suggests that he not call his ex. It's better to let things settle down, be spontaneous, maybe fly abroad somewhere, forget that crazy woman who three hours ago threw soup at him in a restaurant. She also puts her hand on his, smiles and comes closer . And it works. Something in her eyes hypnotizes him, he finds the courage and leans towards her, surprising himself, and tries to kiss her. But then Noa slips back into the club, alone, leaving him outside, embarrassed. Is she playing with him? It's hard to tell, so he goes back inside to look for her. But he finds only Tsvika, and the latter takes him out of the club, explaining that his night out is now over.
When Noa feels bad she looks for someone to distract her, someone who will make her feel venerated again. She'll use him and then dump him, for her ego. And Amos? He's been had. Tsvika announces that he's going home, and Amos leaves. A few minutes later, Noa's car comes to a stop next to him. This time he's not as nice. He flings the things Tsvika said to him at her. He hurts her. He touches her most sensitive spot "if this is the way you treat people, you deserve that your boyfriend cheated on you". And that hurts her. Hard. Noa's car with all its inhabitants drives off, leaving Amos standing there, alone, thinking about her. At the same time, she too, despite what he said to her, or perhaps because of it is thinking about him.
