Be careful what you wish for !

Warning: Spoilers
I would say that this short movie belongs to the most underrated genre today, mystery. Mystery movies, like The Slender Case, are somewhere between horror and sci-fi, and they require vivid imagination from viewers.

It is about 4 teenagers trying to have a good time, drinking beer and socializing, while one of them is playing an Internet horror game. But how time passes, they are more and more talking about the game and soon they decide to search for the game's villain in the local woods.

The Slender Case reminded me of the 90's cult movie, Brainscan (also about the people who became part of an interactive horror PC game). Director used first-person camera perspective, just like Paranormal Activity, to make everything more believable. And he succeeds in it. Acting is top-notch, those young actors seemed really spontaneous and have very promising careers. Also sound is superb, I must say that I really felt chills while enjoying the movie.

Only objection is that the boy who held the camera should have been more involved in conversation. That way the movie would be even more believable. After I watched it, I searched on Google a little bit, and discovered that Slender game actually exists, which makes the movie even more spooky.

I give it a 9/10 !

Good Found Footage Film
geraldyelverton3 August 2015
The Slender Case is filmmaker Robert Kouba's contribution to the growing found footage horror craze. Many films in this genre in recent years fall short of the pioneering films such as The Blair Witch Project and the original Paranormal Activity. The Slender Case, though not feature length nor with the benefits of the before mentioned films' budgets is a welcome addition to the genre.

A group of young adults go missing in a canyon and their camera captures the mystery of their disappearance.

In this project Kouba's talents as a director of acting talent is prominent as there is only improvised dialogue by his actors.

By all accounts this film can be summarized as "creepy" as definite shivers went down my spine in the third act. At just under 15 minutes, I would recommend this movie to all horror and mystery film fans. You will not be disappointed.

Something strange is happening and none can understand it!

Warning: Spoilers
Mysterious disappearances always leave doubts and questions about what really happened, even in this short film. We follow, thanks to scenes shot with a camera from one of them, the evening adventures of a group of boys: apparently, everything seems normal, nothing strange, but then suddenly they find themselves running away from something indefinite, that is chasing them and unfortunately succeeds to take them. Despite then we come up with them at the time of their disappearance, we cannot know who or what they have been kidnapped by, or why. I love these kinds of stories, I also appreciated that scenes are shot in first person from the protagonists themselves, it makes all much more realistic. I definitively recommend it, and also I recommend the others R. Kouba works because I think they are masterpieces!
