Sigourney Weaver is set to reprise her role as Ripley in the Alien franchise in the upcoming video game Alien: Isolation. She's not the only one from the original movie coming back either — Tom Skerritt, Yaphet Kotto, Harry Dean Stanton, and Veronica Cartwright will also be reprising their roles for the game.
This will be a part of Dlc expansion for the game, which will allow players to take control of Ellen Ripley, as well as Captain Dallas and Parker, as they try to survive the intrusion of the the xenomorph alien that comes aboard the cargo ship Nostromo. John Hurt was not included in the game because the events take place after he died in the film. I included a trailer for the Dlc that you can watch below.

Sigourney Weaver has admitted that she was "touched" by the Alien: Isolation narrative.
In a video interview with The AP, the Alien actress explained why she decided to revisit the character of Ripley for the upcoming video game.
The game's primary narrative revolves around Ripley's daughter Amanda. Amanda Ripley's mission takes her to a remote trading station 15 years after the events of the first Alien film as she attempts to track down the flight recorder of her mother's ship.
Weaver and the cast of the original film will reprise their roles for the game's 'Last Survivor' and 'Crew Expendable' Dlc pre-order packs.
Weaver said that she was "touched" by Amanda's search for her mother, before admitting that it felt like no time had passed when she got back into character.
First-person survival horror game Alien: Isolation will be available in North America from October 7.

Five of the key seven cast from 1979's "Alien" are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming survival horror video game release "Alien: Isolation".
The game itself is set fifteen years after the events of the original film. Ellen Ripley’s now adult daughter Amanda sets out in search of the truth behind her mother's disappearance. You play as Amanda for much of the game.
Today though, Twentieth Century Fox, Sega, and The Creative Assembly have revealed that pre-orders for 'The Nostromo Edition' of the game includes bonus missions which allow players to recreate key scenes from the film.
Sigourney Weaver (Ripley), Tom Skerritt (Dallas), Veronica Cartwright (Lambert), Harry Dean Stanton (Brett) and Yaphet Kotto (Parker) are all set to reprise their roles in the game. Events in these missions are set after Kane's death (so John Hurt isn't involved), while a voice actor will replace Ian Holm as Ash.

My feelings on pre-ordering video games are fairly well known...I don't like it. I think it's a ridiculous practice and the only times I've ever done so, is when something cool is offered as a bonus. Even then, I still dont' really like it and it's a strategy I wish the gaming industry would drop. Alas, that's not likely to happen,...
