The film is inspired by Eisener’s “One Last Dive” short film (below), which he directed […]...

The Tracking Board is reporting that Hobo With A Shotgun's Jason Eisener will direct a horror thriller for Fox. Based off of an original idea by Eisener the film will have some underwater sequences and is said to be tonally along the lines of his freaky as shit one minute short One Last Dive, which you can watch below. Sources confirm that Eisener's new project is taking a unique approach in that it's attempting to reinvent the haunted house genre in a terrifying new way, described as a very individual spin on the horror genre, much like how Cloverfield was a new take on monster movies. Like One Last Dive, the feature too will utilize first-person Pov sequences.A follow up feature to Hobo has been a...

Welcome to the third installment of my ongoing series of articles that collects great horror short films.
If you have not already done so, please check out the first two installments of this series “Watch 15 Great Horror Short Films” and its follow-up “Watch 13 More Great Horror Short Films” not only because you’ll love them but also because films and filmmakers mentioned in those articles are referenced in this one.
Short form horror aficionados will also want to check out a recent article I wrote called “The Greatest Horror Anthology Film Segments of All Time”.
As you readers know, the horror short film is an artistic endeavor that can serve as a film industry calling card. A perfect example of this is the recent announcement of the feature film version of Can Evrenol’s superb horror short Baskin.
Combine successes like that with the very strong film festival presence of...

Following up on my previous article, “Watch 15 Great Horror Short Films,” which received a very positive response, I’ve researched and collected 13 more superb horror short films. As with the first article, I limited the choices to stand-alone live-action horror short films not produced for an anthology film and the selections were narrowed down by availability.
In further keeping with the criteria of the first article, animated horror short films and horror-comedy short films were excluded from consideration as both of these categories would make good subjects for their own individual articles. Sorry, Brutal Relax and Fist of Jesus fans.
It should also be noted that a number of highly regarded horror shorts readers might clamor to see in an article like this such as Ryan Haysom’s Yellow continue their long festival runs and have not been posted for online viewing and were therefore not considered for this piece.
