The adaptation of Stephen King's It demolished box office expectations with a killer opening weekend of $123 million, undoubtedly leading audiences (and fans of the massive novel) to wonder when they'll get the next terrifying chapter of the Losers Club on the big screen. The next part of the R-rated horror tale is indeed coming (of course). And like the book (and the previous TV version), the... Read More...

Edgar Wright chats to us about making Baby Driver, and its long journey to the big screen. Plus the Statham question, of course...
Following a much-publicised departure from Ant-Man, Edgar Wright is back with a new film which he has both written and directed. Baby Driver stars Ansel Elgort alongside the likes of Jon Hamm, Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx. We had 15 minutes with Wright to talk about the film's long gestation and how he took it from Wood Green Dhss to the big screen...
So this one's been on the slate for a while. I hear you had the idea for it something like 20 years ago now?
Yeah, it's funny, when I've mentioned that kind of timeline - having the idea 22 years ago - it's true in a sense that I heard a song and visualised a car chase, which is John Spencer Blues Explosion's Bellbottoms,...

Excuse the twisting of a beloved comedian’s signature tune, but this new film’s theme could be “Hooray for Captain Fawcett, the Bolivian explorer!”. That’s Captain Percy Fawcett, to be specific. He’s the newest movie jungle adventurer, in the vein of Jungle Jim and Indiana Jones, except he was a real person. And he was the subject of a recent best-selling book. Now his exploits from nearly one hundred years ago have finally made it to the big screen. So is his quest to find The Lost City Of Z worthy of a far less treacherous trek to the local multiplex?
In 1906 Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) was a respected member of the British Royal Artillery, especially after shooting a stag during a big hunting competition. He’s got a beautiful supportive wife Nina (Sienna Miller) and an adorable tot named Jack. Unfortunately his military career has stalled,...

Adrian Titieni in GraduationWinner of the Best Director prize at Cannes for Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu, Graduation is a tense dramatic conflict between the private and public spheres. As in Antigone, here we have a member of family—a father (Adrian Titieni), in this case—who wants to protect another family member, his daughter (Maria-Victoria Dragus), from the moral role of the state. This intent leads him to act against the conventional morality of his time. Seeing no future in Romania, the sacrificing father cannot tolerate the fact that his daughter has not been accepted into a prestigious school in London and is ready to do everything in his power to save her life—even if it is immoral and corrupt. Graduation is a well-crafted drama that pays attention to every detail. Yet Mungiu has not attempted to exhaust his audience with a totally predictable narrative. Instead, he brings elements...

This week's episode shifts the focus back to Jervis Tetch by having him give an ultimatum between Valerie Vale or Lee. Who will Gordon choose? Will he be able to save them both? Also, Penguin and Nygma's bond will continue to grow while someone from Nygma's past will return. Who will it be? Read on to find out!
****Gotham: Season 5, Episode 6 Spoilers****
I have decided to break down each episode by the characters and major story lines:

Gordon – Valerie Vale asks Gordon to get him an interview with Lee so she can find out more about Alice Tetch’s blood. She continues her blunt nature by asking him why he is still a Pi since he’s only had two cases, which have failed. Jamie Chung plays the part well and is convincing as a blunt, yet seductive foil for Gordon. She eventually plays the...

As Jurassic World bites a hole in our multiplexes, we compares its events to John Sayles' Jurassic Park IV script from a decade ago...
Nb: the following contains spoilers for Jurassic World.
For Universal, the success of Jurassic World is the $500m pay-off to a story which began well over a decade ago. Work on a third Jurassic Park sequel originally began after the release of Joe Johnston’s coolly-received Jurassic Park III way back in 2001, yet the film languished in a pre-production quagmire as writer after writer seemingly struggled to crack the story.
William Monahan (The Departed, Kingdom Of Heaven) was the first screenwriter to step up to the plate, announced at a time when Keira Knightley was reportedly in the running for a major role. Around that time, Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough were also thought to be returning to their respective roles of Ian Malcom and John Hammond.

Life is Strange: Episode 3–Chaos Theory
Developed by Dontnod
Published by Square-Enix
Available on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One
The latest episode of Life is Strange, Dontnod’s coming-of-age odyssey of a girl who discovers she can time travel, has dropped today, and it may have just changed gaming forever. Nobody saw that twist coming, and I would be amazed if anyone didn’t gasp audibly at the final curtain reveal. Chaos Theory is going to be talked about for the rest of the year as easily one of gaming’s most jaw-dropping moments…but let’s start back at the beginning, shall we?
Coming fresh off the heels of the second episode, an experience that left roughly half of us traumatized with good reason, one would have thought that Episode 3 might have been content to spin its wheels off of that traction alone, and milk a whole episode...

With The Deep Blue Good-By landing the services of Christian Bale to star and James Mangold to direct, 20th Century Fox’s adaptation of John D. MacDonald’s Travis McGee books is coming together at last. The next part of puzzle is finding a female lead, and it looks like Rosamund Pike will fill that role.Bale is playing charismatic rogue McGee, a Floridian sleuth and “salvage consultant” who is always getting into deeper water than he intends with dangerous women and very bad men. The Deep Blue Good-By represents the first of the McGee books, and with 21 tomes in MacDonald’s series so far, Fox will be hoping this one has legs so it can make more. After a somewhat torturous development process, Mangold is set in the director’s chair, working from a script that has seen input from Dennis Lehane and Scott Frank. Pike, last seen as...

Thankfully films don’t require a censor certificate for screening at film festivals. But if you want to submit your film for the Indian Panorama of the International Film Festival of India or the National Awards, you need to get a censor certificate. The date of certification will be considered as the date of completion of your film. That’s precisely the reason why many independent filmmakers apply for the certificate knowing very well that they won’t ever use it as their films won’t be exhibited commercially.
Another unspoken rule of the Cbfc certification process is that the applicant is expected to do half the job for the office despite having paid an examination fee. You’re expected to know who sits where and what is kept where to be able to get a censor certificate. And it’s incredible the kind of free access the Cbfc office...

In 2012, CBS premiered a new show about two odd-couple male pals. It was called Partners, and on the surface, it seemed to have everything going for it—a prime slot following How I Met Your Mother, a great pedigree courtesy of two ’90s sitcom wizards (it was created by Max Mutchnick and David Kohan of Will & Grace fame), two charismatic stars (Michael Urie and David Krumholtz). Even so, Partners failed to gain traction. Critics griped that its old-fashioned jokes were tired rather than appealingly retro; just a few weeks into the 2012-2013 TV season, it became one of the first shows to get the ax.

When we say a game is going to be free-to-play, that normally makes an alarm sound. Yet Epic has found a way to put a unique spin on the upcoming new title.
Epic last week teased that they would be announcing a new game, and it was pretty much confirmed it would be a new Unreal Tournament and that part is true. The next part comes as a surprise, it will be entirely free.
Epic noted that the game will be entirely free, not free-to-play, but free. Yes there is a catch. All people with Unreal Engine 4 licenses will be the ones making the game, basically. All these users will develop for the game and create assets for the game, levels, characters, etc... It is then up to these users to sell their assets. Epic will then collect a fee from those purchases which will overall pay off the game.

Zero Motivation, a dark comedy about the lives of Israeli female soldiers, was named the top film at the 13th Tribeca Film Festival. Writer/director Tayla Lavie accepted the Founders Award for Best Narrative Feature, as well as the Nora Ephron Prize, which goes to the female filmmaker who best embodies Ephron’s spirit and vision. “In her unique and ambitious first feature, deftly handled such difficult themes as the military, sexism, love, ambition, and friendship,” the jury noted. “This filmmaker also pulled off the awesome feat of managing multiple characters and storylines. In what was definitely the most hilarious...
