Last round's thread is here! The Battle I guess only Cap can defeat himself? And who will win between the two films that arguably opened the flood gates in 2008? Pick one film from each battle (copy and paste into comments), or leave it blank if you can't choose. You can still vote if you haven't seen a particular film in any particular battle. I'll count the votes, and the winning film goes to the next round, the losing film is eliminated. 1 Captain America: The Winter Soldier v Captain America: Civil War 2 The Dark Knight v Iron Man The Final 8 Results 1 Captain America: The Winter Soldier (41) defeated Doctor Strange (3) Doctor Strange was briefly mentioned in The Winter Soldier, but the Sorcerer Supreme was no match for the film that made Captain America cool. 2 Captain America: Civil War (28) defeated The Avengers (16) This was the toughest decision for votes, as although The...

Scott Hamilton is facing another health scare.
Earlier this year, the Olympic figure skater received a brain tumor diagnosis for what will be the third time. The diagnosis â. a benign pituitary tumor â. comes after Hamilton, 58, overcame testicular cancer in 1997 and battled two previous brain tumors in 2004 and 2010.
“I have a unique hobby of collecting life-threatening illness,” the Stars on Ice cofounder tells People exclusively. “It’s six years later, and it decided that it wanted an encore.”
Hamilton learned of the tumor at a routine check-up and is currently exploring...

Another year, another slew of pixelated pretenders to the throne. Ahead of the event taking place on February 18, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has locked down the list of finalists nominated for the 19th annual Dice awards ceremony.
Pinpointing the crème de la crème, the prestigious company has nominated 53 games in total, a star-studded list toplined by Rise of the Tomb Raider and CD Projekt Red’s critically-adorned masterpiece The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, with the pair topping the pack with eight nominations a piece. You can check out the full list below.
There are also plans in place to posthumously commemorate the late, great Saturo Iwata with the Lifetime Achievement Award, a prestigious award that has only been handed out to five other talents in the industry: Bing Gordon (EA founder), Doug Lowenstein (Esa founder), Ken Kutaragi (former PlayStation president), Minoru Arakawa (former Nintendo of America president), and...

Monster Mag Meltdown gets into the guts of Horrorhound #55. Last round, Monster Mag Meltdown fawned over the gloriously monochrome pages that made up the pulpy Filmfax #141, a long-running retro-horror zine that expertly (and economically) blends in-house brand promotion with fantastic classic horror content. It was a great read, eccentric and even daring; a…

The Dead or Alive franchise has always held a special place in my heart. Back when the original Xbox was initially released, Dead or Alive 3 was one of the first games that I bought. It’s a good thing that the console couldn’t keep track of how much hours I logged on it, because if I saw that number now, I would probably be embarrassed. And no, I didn’t waste my hours playing the game because of the scantily clad fighters, you jerks.
After a successful launch of the original Dead or Alive 5 back in 2012, Team Ninja has finally brought the franchise to current-gen consoles. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round stands to be the most complete edition of the series yet, as it features the biggest roster in an entry so far, as well as a sizable amount of bonus outfits.

Early adopters who picked up Team Ninja’s anticipated brawler Dead or Alive 5 Last Round have been met with a myriad of technical issues, as the studio scrambles to address the problems through the ever-updating Faq page.
For many, the canary in the coal mine moment came when the digital, PS4 version of the fighter didn’t appear on PlayStation Store as planned. From what we understand, the Xbox One version popped without any issue.
However, Awol digital releases proved to be the tip of the iceberg, as Team Ninja quickly began detailing a series of known issues through the studio’s Twitter feed. Chief among those is the bug that is corrupting save files, with the company warning players away from tutorial missions 40.8 and 40.9 until a patch is released.

One of the most frequent complaints that has been lobbed against the PlayStation 4 in the past year or so has been the lack of games, especially exclusives. Last fall in particular it was a visible problem as the rival Xbox One had several well-regarded exclusives hit such as "Sunset Overdrive," "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" and "Forza Horizon 2" on top of the cross-platform Aaa titles that both consoles share.
In early 2015 though the tables have turned to some degree with the imminent release of Ps exclusive titles like "The Order 1886" and "Bloodborne". With Sony now seemingly fighting back, they've done something unexpected - publishing a complete list of all their upcoming 2015 game releases.
Many still don't have specific dates yet, dates which aren't expected to be announced until around the time of the big conventions closer to mid-year, but here's the list as it stands now.

Team Ninja has never been subtle when it comes to the female combatants included in their popular Dead or Alive franchise. The female fighters included tend to be young and full-figured, if you get my drift, and the latest entry in the series, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, introduces a new character who fits that description to a tee.
Described as a “super secret fighter chick” by Tecmo Koei, Honoka is an 18-year old schoolgirl. While her appearance may not startle anyone, she has a mysterious power running through her body that grants her strength. The publisher offered further details on her in an introductory press release:
Honoka has a strange knack for instantly learning any fighting move she sees. She has kept this power hush-hush, but has been itching to test it out in secret. Honoka studies her favorite moves from various sources and fighting styles, and combines...

Exclusive: Road trip comedy to co-star Laura Carmichael and Chloe Pirrie.
Paris-based Urban Distribution International (Udi) has picked up sales on Chanya Button’s upcoming road-trip comedy Burn, Burn, Burn on the eve of its shoot.
Downton Abbey actress Laura Carmichael and Chloe Pirrie (Shell), a Screen Star of Tomorrow and Bafta Breakthrough Brit in 2013, are set to co-star as two friends who travel across Britain to scatter the ashes of their late best friend Dan.
Other cast members include Alison Steadman and Nigel Planer.
The women take turns driving with Dan in the glove compartment, in a tupperware container, decreasing in volume as the trip progresses.
“Burn Burn Burn is the perfect feelgood movie - the one you want to see after a hard day’s work with your best friend, or again on TV and VOD with your mum,” said Udi chief Frederic Corvez.
