- Alexis volunteers in a criminal review organization to help prove a man was wrongly accused of murder 15 years ago. With his execution scheduled in three days, Alexis asks her father to bring a new look at the evidence.
- 15 years ago a boy was charged guilty for having killed the girl across the street. Today, he stands in court one last time to hear that he has three days left to live before his execution. This is because Alexis, her Criminal Law professor and the Innocence Review group are unable to supply any evidence for a stay of execution. - Frank Henson faces a denial of a last-hope stay of execution for the murder, 15 years ago, of Kim Tolbert. Professor Edgar McDonald and the the Innocence Review association admit defeat after having explored all legal options. But Alexis, who believes he is really innocent, pulls a last trump card. She asks her father, who is eager to reconcile with her, to help and gets additional help from the NYPD. What at first seems to be grasping at straws against the clock quickly becomes a plausible race to find the real killer.
