The White Horse Pike was originally chartered in 1854 and ran from Camden County eastward to Atlantic City. A great portion of it is also currently known as Route 30 and begins in Astoria, Oregon, running all the way to Atlantic City. The Camden area is urbanized but as the road runs eastward, it becomes more rural.
