They left out the NCIS in NCIS in this episode. This episode was nothing but a lot of stupid filler. It is getting more soap opery with every episode. The whole kitchen redecoration theme, the fung shway thing with the lab, the stupid sticky honey in the morgue were all absolutely ridiculous. The opening with the bee handler just died on the vine. The Texas stereotypes were so overdone and completely unnecessary plus the bull headed father son lawyer relationship is straight out of a hundred other shows. Then they throw in the overdone gay scenario to tick one of the boxes of so-called misunderstanding by good old boy bad dad. Bottom line, there is no investigation of any type in this episode. This is one episode you'd never want to watch twice.

Torres the Horse Whisperer? On horseback chasing down the suspect? Knight in a cowboy hat? Speaking with a Texas twang? Too serious to pass for camp. Too ridiculous to pass for drama. I realize 21 seasons is a lot to write compelling plots for but no need to sacrifice quality for quantity. There's a reason this show has emained popular this long. They never dumb down the plots and always play to a reasonably intelligent audience. The writers have almost always delivered well written scripts. This in no way, shape or form measures up. To say they jumped the shark is the least of my opinion. Hope this is the exception rather than a preview of what's to come.

This season of NCIS has definitely been hit and miss and this episode was much more miss. They tried to go for some kind of Yellowstone episode with the setting of the ranch and introducing some Southern characters, but it really missed the mark. By the time the reveal of who the bad guy was came I don't know if anyone really cared.
NCIS appeals to an older audience and does not ever really go too detailed or too in depth with their premises. Even as a slightly younger viewer I am okay with that for the most part, but I want a little bit more originality than this. I know the writers can do better than this.

Worst episode ever

This has to be the worst episode of NCIS I have ever seen. The sub-plot about the new kitchen and the reality show is truly an abysmal and tiresome idea. This hasn't been the greatest of seasons anyway, has often seemed tired, as if they have totally run out of ideas. And what can say one say about the rest of this episode, which is remarkably silly and desperately unfunny. It is truly and utterly painful to watch at times, and made me want to throw things at the screen. One hopes that this series has reached its nadir, and that the only way is up from here. Wouldn't surprise me if this is the last series though, they obviously have nowhere to go.
