It feels amazing to be back with new episodes of the chosen.
Season 5 Episode 1 starts of with the last supper. We are being told a terrible truth about what will happen to Jesus. The disciples are still confused as Jesus tells them he will speak plainly and they will soon understand. We jump back a few days to the days leading to Passover as they land in Jerusalem with a major greeting. Jesus spends time with the common people while his followers are starting to become frightened by the volume of people. Peter has decided to become a preacher to spread the word of Jesus.
Yea episode 1 is great and to be honest what is so strong about the episode is that we get a lot of screen time with Jesus. I'd say this episode is the longest he has appeared in.
The visuals are great you can see a production jump with a brilliant soundtrack. The emotions are high in every department, Jesus fully aware of what must come and some of his followers slowly becoming more aware. 8/10.

Just watched Season 5 episodes 1 & 2 in the theatre which begins the start of Holy Week in Jerusalem for the Passover. The cinematography, sets, & wealth of accuracy to scripture is awesome. More so, the interpretation of how said events would look is credit to Dallas work & talent as a director & writer.
This is a much watch especially regarding the clearing of the temple, always imagined what that would have looked like & Jonathan brilliantly pulled off the performance. Episode 1 will make you weep, so keep tissues close. Episode 2 will want you to open the gospels to review how it was interpreted.
Looking forward to watching the rest in the theatre before Good Friday! I don't envy Jonathan for next season, it'll be the Crucifixion.

These first two episodes of Season 5 DO NOT DISAPPOINT! These actors have shown strength and discipline in their craft. The intensity they are able to show in these scenes is mind blowing. The actors make it look easy. We must be reminded that without the amazing and power of the writing, directing and production provided is equally exceptional. The Chosen brings out the stories with the light of God and boy is it Beautifully Bright! The next 6 episodes are divided in half. The theater on Thursday by the way was full. Not one person shuffled around as the theater was absolutely silent. Don't miss this opportunity to see a terrific performance with a great story.
Oh, where does the time go? We're already on Season 5-that's crazy! And this season covers the final week of Jesus' life. Recently, I studied the entire book of John and even memorized the whole thing, so this season is going to be really enjoyable since it pulls so much from John!
This episode was a great premiere. It started with such an emotional scene, and the rest was really well done. Their cinematography has seriously leveled up-it's insane comparing Season 1 to now. I also feel like the writing has improved a lot, with better dialogue and stronger acting. Everything about this feels like an upgrade from previous episodes!
I can't wait for the rest of the season. If you're on the fence about watching this, do it. Well, I'd suggest watching the first four seasons first, but this is absolutely worth it!

This show is for entertainment purposes only! There are numerous inconsistencies with scripture. It adds details, attributes, and circumstances that aren't in the scriptures to men and women in the Bible. It also adds speculation to the Gospel..And it promotes an ecumenism with Mormons and Catholics that denies the final work of God the Son on the cross.
The Gospel says we are forgiven on the merit of Christ alone and not of anything we can do. The one and only Gospel is founded on the belief that Jesus is God the Son.
There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God and God the Son.
