I’m sure many American fans are still missing Breaking Bad, but they’ll have a chance to watch something similar when Metastasis – a Latin American adaptation of the acclaimed series, set in Colombia — debuts this summer. The premiere will simulcast in the U.S. June 8 on UniMás, Univision, and Galavisión before settling into its regular timeslot at 10pm Et Monday through Friday on UniMás. The plot should be very familiar to Bad fans. Instead of Walter White, the anti-hero here is Walter Blanco (Diego Trujillo), a modest high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Weighing his … Continue reading →

The bad news is you’re suffering from Breaking Bad withdrawal. The good news? Fans of the hit AMC show — which wrapped up its five-season run in a gripping finale last fall — can look forward to an upcoming Spanish language remake that has plenty in common with Vince Gilligan’s Emmy-winning drama.
Or will it? Sure, true to the original, Walter Blanco — his last name means “white” – is a timid chemistry teacher who transforms into a meth-dealing mastermind after he’s diagnosed with lung cancer. But there are also a few notable differences too, which make Metástasis a blend of...

Rob Riggle has joined the cast of The Pro. The NBC comedy pilot stars Rob Lowe as a fallen tennis doubles champion who reunites with his former partner (Riggle) after hitting hard times. I’m watching this one since it comes from out Emmy-winner Todd Holland as a director.
CNN is cutting back on Anderson Cooper. The news channel has pulled from the schedule AC360 Later a “more relaxed” companion series for Cooper’s regular news hour. If you’re not familiar with AC360 Later, that might be because it was infrequently scheduled and would sometimes disappear from the schedule for weeks. Did anyone catch it? Will you miss it?
Vulture talked with Sarah Paulson about the upcoming season of American Horror Story. (Yeah, we’re already talking about next season. Deal with it.) When asked if she’s preparing for her new role the same way Jessica Lange...

Super-sad about the end of "Breaking Bad?" Good news, then, it's coming back! In Spanish! Really!
The Spanish language remake of "Breaking Bad" – titled "Metástasis" – was announced a few months ago, but now we finally have a look at the weird, mirror-universe version that is the final product.
First, there's the classic shot of Walter White in his tightie-whities, except with Diego Trujillo playing Walter Blanco. (No, we're not joking.)
Then, there's the cast breakdown, which kind of, maybe looks like a high school play version of "Breaking Bad?"
We're most curious about whether Jose Miguel Rosas ("Metástasis") will say "Perra!" a lot (that's "bitch" in Spanish, Fyi), and if Cielo Blanco will get some weird plastic surgery between the first and second seasons of the show.
But easily the most surreal bit of all? The one that proves this isn't some sort of meth induced fever dream?...

He is el que tocar. Or at least, after a few seasons, he will be.
Diego Trujillo stars as Walter White’s Colombian counterpart in Metástasis, an upcoming Spanish-language remake of Breaking Bad. The character’s name? Walter Blanco, naturally.
And that’s not the only literal translation the new show has in store: Instead of Jesse Pinkman, this Walter’s meth-cooking accomplice is named Jose Miguel Rosas (played by Robert Urbina). His wife’s name is Cielo (Sandra Reyes) — the Spanish word for “sky.” The cast is rounded out by Julian Arango as Henry Navarro, Walter’s narcotics agent brother-in-law.
