The Emmys are moving to August.

The Art Directors Guild and the Costume Designers Guild have become the latest groups to announce their nominees for 2013. They may not be considered as big or as important as the Producers Guild, the Directors Guild, or the Writers Guild, but they are still a pretty good prognosticator for who will eventually take home the Oscar in their respective categories.
The Art Directors split their categories up into Period, Fantasy, and Contemporary Films (along with various TV categories), but the main one of importance here is the Period, where we find the more fanciful, eye-catching designs. Here, we find what was mostly expected: American Hustle, The Great Gatsby, Inside Llewyn Davis, Saving Mr. Banks, and 12 Years a Slave. If I had to venture a guess, I’d say that The Great Gatsby has this one in the bag. There were those who didn’t enjoy the film (I actually found...

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards brought some of the small screen's most famous faces to the Nokia Theatre in La on Sunday. Neil Patrick Harris hosted the show for his second time, and he opened the night alongside past hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Jane Lynch before Jimmy Fallon and Conan O'Brien also joined the group on stage. That wasn't the only surprise at the start of the show, though - when Merritt Wever won the first award of the night for best supporting actress in a comedy, she gave a quick thanks before saying she "had to go." She was presented the award by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who had the crowd cracking up when they told Neil to take his pants off before crawling up the stairs. This year's Emmys presenters included actors and actresses like Matt Damon, Jon Hamm, and Sofia Vergara. Will Ferrell took the stage...

Despite the Emmys’ nabbing its best 18-49 rating in seven years and the most viewers in eight, Sunday once more proved to truly be “Football Night in America,” as NBC’s NFL game topped the 65th Annual Emmy Awards in ratings and viewers. NBC was first in ratings with a 6.0 rating/15 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in viewers with 16.5 million, according to preliminary numbers. Due to the nature of live sports, NBC, Fox and CBS numbers are approximate. For NBC, Part 1 of “Football Night in America,” at 7 p.m. earned a 1.8/6 and 6 million viewers, though...

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards let out not long ago, and, as honorees and attendees headed off to the afterparties, reviews of the show seemed to be mixed, but one thing was agreed upon by virtually everyone: The vast majority of the results couldn't have been more surprising. As host Neil Patrick Harris put it late in the show, "This just in: No one in America is winning their office pool!" In the drama categories, The Newsroom's Jeff Daniels beat Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston and House of Cards' Kevin Spacey to win best actor (nobody saw that coming). Boardwalk Empire's

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards happened last night in Los Angeles, and there were one or two surprising winners for a change. That included some delightful recognition of solid talent (Tony Hale won for Veep over Modern Family’s usual nomination crowd) and victory at last for Breaking Bad. There were also one or two shockers (Jeff Daniels? Over Jon Hamm and Bryan Cranston?) - but what award show would be without a few?Netflix didn’t dominate the winners’ circle as expected given House Of Cards’ pedigree, although David Fincher got the Drama Directing award. Bigger surprises were Merritt Wever’s win for Nurse Jackie (leading to the shortest and possibly sweetest speech of the night: "Thank you so very much. Um, I gotta go, bye”) and Anna Gunn getting some much needed recognition for Breaking Bad. Also a pleasant shock? Abi Morgan walked off with Outstanding Writing For...

Tonight is the night! The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards is only hours away and speculation has reached its peak. With a solid combination of old favorites and new faces it’s going to be difficult to pin down the nights winners. Fortunately, I love a challenge. So without further ado here are my two cents on how the night is going to play out…
Best Series (Drama)
Who Will Win: Breaking Bad is unstoppable this year. With only two episodes left, the shows hype has reached an all-time high. If you don’t believe me, count how many of your Facebook statuses will be about tonight’s episode. That show is almost a religious experience to its fans. That zealousness coupled with the massive amounts of critical praise make it a shoe in to win the night’s top prize before its series finale a week from today.

Elton John is going to perform at the Emmy Awards for the first time. The annual television event, which already has "Behind The Candelabra" stars Matt Damon and Michael Douglas acting as presenters, will feature a performance by John that pays tribute to Liberace, the subject of that HBO film.
"Behind The Candelabra" is nominated for 15 Emmy Awards, so it's no wonder that the awards show is giving it such a presence. John's performance also aligns with his upcoming album "The Diving Board," which will be released on Sept. 24.
The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and will take place on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. Et.

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will be graced by a knight in shining spectacles this year: Sir Elton John is scheduled to perform at the awards show for the first time.

HBO’s recent biopic about the late singer, Behind the Candelabra, is up for 15 Emmy Awards this year.
