The chapter introduces the motivation of the main character who is the star behind the ideas, music; which he composes especially for this documentary and directs his story that has great quality of production, has participations of renowned people in different areas of each genre of music where they are experts in dance. Supreme Dance World

J-hope take us on a journey of how dance shaped his career. He allows us to explore the different street dancing styles. It's a novel idea to combine different dance styles across the globe. He adds a person story showcasing his adventurous and passionate side. The energetic music matches the dance perfectly. Inviting different expert dancers is a smart move as we see another perspective on street dance. His stage presence is well known. Having a special behind the scene story is the icing on the cake. I am exited for the next few episodes. I am ready to go on this learning and entertaining dance voyage.

JHOPE AS A FANTASTIC STORYTELLER
sajitharazak28 March 2024
I might have rewatched episode 1 many times, but each time felt like I was watching it for the first time. That's how powerful Hobi is as a story teller. Episode 1 served as a guide to the entire docuseries and every snippet dripped with creativity and hardwork. Hobi has proven he is above the K-pop league with this docuseries. He has shown that gaining knowledge doesn't make one less, Infact gaining knowledge and continuous learning is the way to live life JHOPELY. I would give more than 10 star rating but since 10 is highest, he is getting full marks for this amazing powerful MASTERPIECE. He is definitely the best thing that happened to kpop!

J-hope exudes joy for dance
aylasaur28 March 2024
J-hope is already at the highest level of his artistry but that doesn't stop him from pursuing knowledge and continuing to grow.

In this series, he travels around the globe being mentored by masters of various street dance styles and seeking to perfect his craft. Starting with Popping in Osaka, House in Paris, Hip Hop in NYC, Locking in Seoul and a look at his time with dance crew Neuron in Gwanju. With him is long time friend and international award-winning dancer and educator, Boogaloo Kin.

He also graces us with his dancing talent at every turn. He is in his element and it shows. We are lucky to be along for the ride.

HOTS IS AUTHENTIC
varsharamdhony28 March 2024
Having watched EP1 and 2, we can say that J-Hope has really poured his heart and soul into the project. It is authentic, intimate and heartwarming. J-Hope talks about his journey, his passion and his worries as well. The way the dances are shot is creative and I love the way the dance, interview and other videos are linked. Hobi did amazing. No wonder he is the Ace of Kpop. This docuseries is one you will find yourself coming to watch again and again. I cannot wait to watch the upcoming episodes. We get to also meet dance legends and learn about their take on dance and life. Seeing J-Hope meeting some of the people he has admored for a long time is so nice. I really recommend the docuseries to everyone who love dance and who love authentic genuine stories.

Sublime artistry
tinalintu28 March 2024
What a wonderful start of the journey(episode 1) together with the talented, creative, hard working artist J-Hope. Loved seeing a little intro of all the dancers who are features and hearing the teasers of the upcoming album in it. Curious to learn more about each and every dancer & their history & see the interaction and knowledge exchange between then and J-Hope.

All is well done and you can feel J-Hope's contribution in every aspect starting from the filming locations, the lighting, the color coordination of the places to his outfits and the surroundings. Can't wait to see all of the episodes and hear the whole album of 6 OST tracks.

Bonafide Artist

Hope On The Street is for j-hope's new dance docu-series. The album is released to complement this project. For those who grasps the insight of each song, understands how it connect with each dance forms. The music is perfectly match with each dance style. It is such an inspirational piece reflecting his roots in dancing and takes us on an adventure that shapes his musical journey. It's a learning process for an artist who loves to venture and strives to elevate his skills. The music reflects his uniqueness and authentic style. Some may not appreciate street style dancing or understand the concept. I resonate with the heartfelt music and dancing concept. Truly a shout-out to a passionate and visionary artist.

Raw but high quality documentary!
lyrasolaria1 April 2024
This is another testament how j-hope rise above the rest. He has shown great homage to the first craft he ever loved. As always you could feel j-hope's positivity, sincerity and authenticity. The cinematography is excellent! Very raw yet high quality! Add the sublime OST which cements j-hope as the one that many envy. In the world of kpop where everything is tired and generic, j-hope goes above and beyond challenging the overproduced templates setting more bars to beat. He offered something fresh and new that many kpop fans are not ready to accept. Hoping there will be season two! We need more of j-hope's genius!

Dance is Life
snowfreenx4 April 2024
J-hope is the artist who thinks outside the box. The quality and effort that went into the series is apparent. My respect to his commitment in telling his back story while showcasing each style of street dance. The music aligns so well with the dance styles. He shares his love of dance with us. Showcasing other dancers makes it more relevant. We get to appreciate the authentic street dance. He journeys to major cities and treats us to mini dance performances! J-hope provides some of his insights and struggles along the way. Loving the fashion and different street styles. It's a wonderful surprise each week. I can't wait for the next one.

Satisfied, a beautiful series.

Warning: Spoilers
I must say I'm surprised, who is J-hope?

What world should I live in without knowing this artist? After researching that name, I was surprised.

This boy transmits all his emotions very well and it is very emotional to see the simple and humble personality he has. The series is very well done, I think I am delighted with the music.

I always say that life is a constant learning. This guy said, "I thought I knew how to dance popping," but now he's really felt what dancing popping is like, haha, it's cool. Wow. I'm interested in seeing more about this cute guy.

I think while I wait I should watch another one of his documentaries that I found while researching him. For now I give this series a 10. I recommend it 100% without hesitation.

Smooth and Electric
cgdng29 March 2024
This whole album gets you up to dance. Each song is a standalone masterpiece. And it's great to finally hear J-hope's thank you vocals come through. There's a here for everyone, so I hope you all take a listen. You also need to take a look on prime and watch the documentary and see how he is such a great and accomplished dancer. Is entertaining as well as educational, and such a history of street dance that you will not want to miss. Definitely do not need to be a fan of K-pop to enjoy the music, the lyrics and the dancing so I heard you to give it a listen give it a watch get up and give it a dance because I know your feet and body and arms and head will be moving to the music .

Doesn't resonate with me. Not the experience I had in dance class
kafon-647871 April 2024
While the content of the experience didn't align with my expectations rooted in my past dance class encounters, I found that there were indeed some redeeming qualities that deserve recognition. Despite not resonating with me as anticipated, I was able to identify certain positive elements that stood out amidst the disparity between my initial expectations and the actual encounter. It's important to acknowledge that even when an experience falls short of our preconceived notions, there can still be valuable takeaways and moments of appreciation that emerge from the situation. In this case, while the overall alignment with my dance class background may have been lacking, I was able to extract some valuable insights or aspects that added a layer of depth or interest to the encounter. This nuanced perspective allows for a more holistic evaluation of the experience, recognizing both its shortcomings and its hidden gems. By acknowledging the presence of positive elements within an otherwise unexpected scenario, we open ourselves up to new possibilities for growth, learning, and appreciation. It serves as a reminder that even in moments of divergence from our expectations, there is often something valuable to be gleaned or appreciated if we approach the situation with an open mind and a willingness to explore beyond our initial assumptions.

Must See for Dancers and Artists
fdeoelana7 April 2024
This is a brilliant series and concept! The fact that each episode is connected to a song on the album Hope on the Street, as well as a style of dance, a dance master of the genre and a particular city/country, is quite unique and inspiring. In addition, the dance scenes are so eye catching and showcase not only j-hope's impressive skills but also the other artists featured in the episode. I appreciate watching a world star strip everything back to take on the challenge of learning in this docuseries. It is also a great look at various styles of street dancing and makes sure to honor the history of each genre.

Side note: I have rewatched every episode multiple times already because of the quality of the dancing and the overall creativity of this series.

Passion Project Through & Through
tinalynnhodgson6 April 2024
HOTS v1 can only be described as a soul project. During this chapter 2 of J-Hope's career he's been on a journey to essentially regroup and re-intregrate; he explored his shadow with Jack in the Box and now with Hope on the Street he's taking us with him all the way back to his roots and 1st love, dance, as a way to reconnect with his truest self before all the fame & accolades.

Taking a step back from his dance leader role with BTS, he's humbly invited past mentors & teachers, including Boogaloo Kin, and recognized street dancers from around the world to guide him through each genre of dance and in turns allows each to shine. A highlight to this series is the collection of 6 original songs that go with each episode. All stand along hits in their own right.

I've now watched to ep 4, and honestly each episode keeps getting better and better. The editing alone is worth the watch, creative, fun and breathtaking. I leave each episode feeling giddy, uplifted and so thankful to each and every person involved.

Dance is Life
sfdykjtytb5 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
J-hope dives in to a project that has him getting reacquainted with his roots in dancing. The songs he created for each episode are bangers and I love the break down in the various types of street dance. J-hope the artist is know to be extremely talented, hardworking, positive, and kind. He is also self reflective throughout the episodes and we learn that he has lost his way. He was questioning if he was able to connect to joy in his life. . He chose very respected street dancers with years experience and he looks to them to get reconnected with the essence of who he is and they are great teachers. I am loving this so much!!

Revisting & Introducing His Roots
anaretacams7 April 2024
HOPE On The Street is not your typical run-of-the-mill docu series. The whole concept integrated j-hope revisting his dance roots, trying out new genres - and what basically ties these things together is the brand new music he has crafted specifically for this show.

It pushes the envelope with its impeccable stylish editing, captures raw convos & emotions from Hoseok, Boogaloo Kin & their guests - all while sticking to the main theme: which is dance/dancing on the streets with j-hope.

I personally hope (no pun intended) that this show & the album it comes with will be given much accolade & love, not only by ARMYs but those who love the art of street dancing as well.

It's not every day that someone so influencial has taken on a mammoth task of introducing street dance for a larger (and sometimes unforgiving) audience.

Bias?
sagcarduser28 March 2024
Two types of people here: 1) those who will think bias is something you have if you stan BTS in general and 2) those from Army who will know what bias and OT7 really mean. That said, yes, I have a bias towards BTS and I purple them bad. So, is it possible I will like everything each member does performance-wise? Probably so. Because they are good. Really, really good.

Do you have to agree? Nope. One of the tenets of BTS is speak yourself, as in, you do you and love yourself without judgment.

If you know nothing about J-Hope and are a dancer you will love this. If you are Army, of course you'll love this. If you are here to spread hate, may you find yourself drowning in hobi water one day, and that's a good thing.

J-hope's mantra of I'm your hope, You're my hope, I'm J-Hope speaks to his positivity and bits of strength that is symbiotic between J-Hope, dancing, and fans. And only those fans will understand the behind the scenes studio time and background we have all already been privileged to see, learn, and know about.

True fans will and have literally watched the entire group eat, drink, sing, dance, sit still, lego, and even sleep. Army would watch paint dry if it meant BTS was connected somehow. Is that biased? Yes, absolutely. But each member does a fantastic job highlighting their best assets individually and dancing was made for J-hope. He literally says he would not know where he would be without it. Anyone who is that dedicated and talented will already have tons of fans watching. He also has the benefit of worldwide recognition and being a part of a group that has notorious fans with the utmost dedication. By the time he is out of military service, he will have almost two decades of dancing experience. No one can deny he's a great dancer. The series goes by far too quickly. It also highlights other dancers which is cool. It's typical Hobi sunshine reality.

journey with j-hope
flcaaz29 March 2024
What a beautiful love letter to street dance, music, and life-long learning. I highly recommend this six episode docuseries to anyone who enjoys thoughtful storytelling, dance, music, and culture... Follow j-hope on his world wide journey from Seoul to Osaka, Paris, New York City, and his beloved hometown Gwangju to meet talented dancers who have spent decades

j-hope, my favorite artist, even wrote an outstanding new album, Hope on the Street Vol. 1 to accompany the Hope on the Street docuseries on Prime Video.

It's a joy to witness a living legend follow their dreams, step outside of the box, and continue to learn from others. Bravo j-hope.

Thank you j-hope. Thank you to the dancers Boogaloo Kin, Gucchon, Lock Woong, Henry "Link" McMillan, Yugson, and last but not least NEURON CREW (Daek2, Dxng Wxx, Mishka, Ad Bomb and more) and the whole production team for a well crafted documentary series.

J Hope's love of Street dance
hopenicco7 April 2024
The series delves in to BTS lead dancer J -Hope's love of Street Dance. Each episode is set in a different city and focuses on a different style of dance. He meets veterans of of Street dance in each city and dances with them, learns about thier background. The series also showcases J -Hope's amazing dance skills. As the main dancer of BTS he is usually on stage with amazing sets and backing dancers. To see him simply dancing in the street in a different city is refreshing. The series can also be autobiographical as it also charts J -Hope's journey as a street dancer from his home town to one of the biggest groups in the world.

Their passion for dance shows
kycemiche7 April 2024
As a person that enjoys dance or watching dance related content (though I am not a dancer) this documentary by J-hope opened my eyes to the passion of people who really lived loving this type of art. Knowing the origin of a certain type of dance, the movement, and the people that live by it is very enjoyable. You can see the happiness in their eyes whenever they move and dance. Plus the music the accompanies them every episode (from J-hope's album Hope on the Street) is very fitting to the theme of it. The music in itself tells the story. You only not explore dance but also music and life lessons. Since the docu is also about people discovering themselves through the art of dance. It is very enjoyable to watch and i can't wait to see the next episodes.

Excellent documentary on dance and hip-hop
ady-lucky7 April 2024
If you love hip-hop this documentary and the album with the same name are for you. Jung Hoseok, stage name J-Hope, prepared the Hope on the Street album and documentary as a gift for his fans while he was away in the military. Hobi used to do lives on the V-live app named Hope on the street where he would explain and perform different dance styles, and now, during the chapter 2 where each BTS member released their solo projects, Hobi goes back to his roots releasing the Hope on the street project.

In this documentary, Hobi travels to a different city in each episode, where he will practice a different dance style. In each city he meets with a master in the dance style he is practicing, they explain the dance style, they reflect about what dance means to them, their passion, the struggles they had to endure in life and the way to overcome them.

Then they proceed to practice that dance style on the streets of that city, and finally they will do a performance for one of the songs of the album in that dance style. At the end we are also shown a little making off of the recording process of the album.

The aesthetics of the album also reminds of the hip-hop magazines I used to collect as a teenager, which adds to the nostalgia, the back to the roots feeling for those of us who grow up lovind and living hip-hop.

The music, the documentary, the album....it all gives you an inmersive experience of old school hip-hop. With this project, Hobi is sharing with his fans his knowledge and deep respect of the hip-hop culture he loves and respects.

Reflections and Fireworks
jaysonthomer7 April 2024
I am thoroughly enjoying HOPE ON THE STREET - currently 4 episodes have been released and I am looking forward to the remaining 2. The series paints an intimate portrait of j-hope as he reconnects with his street dance roots while sharing honest reflections and dispensing pearls of wisdom along the way. But HOPE ON THE STREET is more than just a personal journey. The series is a vibrant codex of styles in street dancing with j-hope visiting elites and pioneers of street dancing to reminisce, learn and, of course, throw down some dancing. The dance scenes were artfully filmed and framed against beautiful backdrops, accentuated by subtle effects, edgy fashions and color schemes that pop. And the music? Perfection - including a soundtrack recorded by j-hope of the same title. Every element of this series works, and together, it is a mesmerizing firework. Must watch for fans, dance enthusiasts, anyone and everyone.

Gutta-percha boy!
liliabelovickaya28 March 2024
The film JHOPE once again confirms his status as the number 1 dancer in the world! His dancing skills are amazing and awe-inspiring! Each part of his body moves in a random order independently of each other, the body wriggles as if it has no bone tissue, which proves his incredible skill and professionalism in controlling every muscle and every cell of the body! When Jhope dances, the laws of gravity cease to be relevant! His movements are like the flight of a butterfly, this is lightning crushing everything in its path! Hoseok is a great master and creator, and his film Hope on the street is a global cult blockbuster, the greatest masterpiece of our millennium! I bow to you, our most unique and brilliant artist! Bravo!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Worth watching
vantete-863987 April 2024
This docuseries is a an eyeopener, f0r people who have followed the journey of j-hope as it reveals certain aspects of his personality that he had never before talked about, and even for those who have just encountered him since it introduces one to his passions, resilient character, positive attitude and undeniable talent as a member and dance leader of BTS and as a solo artist. Like j-hope himself once said, listening to BTS is the best thing ever. So i hope for those who have just met him, please listen to his and BTS's music without prejudice. You might just be surprised how rich, meaningful and varied their discography is. Excited to watch the upcoming episodes. 💜
