The star is set to join renowned British writer/director Sally Potter’s latest feature “Alma,” leading the cast alongside Golden Globe nominee Dakota Fanning and BIFA Award winner and BAFTA nominee Lindsay Duncan. Joining the ensemble will be Arinzé Kene, Esther McGregor Esmé Creed-Miles and Earl Cave, with further casting to follow.

Bankside Films have boarded “Alma” for worldwide sales ahead of the Cannes Film Festival and will be introducing the film to buyers there. The film is currently in pre-production and set to start shooting on location in England in September.

Pamela Anderson is returning to the stage!

Following the success of her role in The Last Showgirl, the 57-year-old actress will be starring in the revival of Tennessee Williams‘ play Camino Real taking place this summer at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Williamstown, Mass.

Directed by Dustin Wills, the cast also includes Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story star Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Hocus Pocus 2 actress Whitney Peak.

Cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw vividly remembers when Ryan Coogler sent her the script for “Sinners.”

It was January 2024, the day before she would start shooting “The Last Showgirl,” and Coogler sent an email seeking her thoughts on the piece, which he’d told her was quite personal to him. She read the script later that night, all in one sitting.

“I was blown away. I had no idea about it being a period piece or that Michael [B. Jordan] would be playing twins,” Arkapaw tells Variety. “I had a huge email that I sent him about my thoughts. He always teases me, because for me to read something all the way through in one pass is more difficult these days, but that’s the kind of script that you just can’t put down.”

The platform’s annual May the Fourth celebrations will including the premieres of “Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld,” a six-episode series about villains from throughout the galaxy; “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” and “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” — two immersive P.O.V. journeys inside rides at Disneyland Resort.

For Hulu subscribers, the Star Wars celebration includes the three original films and 2016’s “Rogue One,” the perfect post-“Andor” viewing to segue right into that trilogy. Kalender, along with his daughter Filiz, runs a small pita shop inherited from his father. After losing his wife ten years ago, he became withdrawn. Closed to innovations and unwilling to take risks, his shop is also struggling.

Jamie Lee Curtis might not be stepping back into the shoes of Laurie Strode again anytime soon, but the Oscar-winning actress is far from being done with the horror genre. Curtis will star in Sender, a psychological horror film based on the award-winning 2022 short film, shares Deadline.

Russell Goldman is set to direct the movie in his feature directorial debut. He previously directed the indie short Return to Sender, on which the film will be based, and then adapted his short into a 2023 Black List contender.

Sender is already in development. Apart from Curtis, the film stars Severance's Britt Lower, David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil), and Anna Baryshnikov (Love Lies Bleeding).

It follows a woman entangled in a mysterious and dangerous e-commerce scam that quickly becomes very personal, leaving her determined to find out who the anonymous sender is and stop their harassment.

The 38-year-old mega talent has had an impressive run directing both “Black Panther” movies along with the Rocky spinoff “Creed” (2015), while also producing that film’s two sequels — all major box office coups. Miley Cyrus has announced her new album, Something Beautiful. The follow-up to 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation, which featured Cyrus’ Grammy-winning hit “Flowers,” will arrive on May 30th via Columbia Records.

While details around the LP are still somewhat slim, Cyrus has unveiled the official artwork and confirmed 13 tracks in the project. Cyrus co-produced the album with Shawn Everett, who notably engineered Kacey Musgraves’ beloved Golden Hour. Something Beautiful is now available for pre-order with a number of CD, vinyl, and box set packages.

“Captured by renowned fashion photographer Glen Luchford, the album artwork features Miley Cyrus draped in archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture, a striking nod to the album’s bold aesthetic and visual storytelling,” she shared via social media.

Though Cyrus has promised new tracks in Something Beautiful, the aesthetic of the album artwork isn’t unlike that of The Last Showgirl, for which Cyrus contributed an original song titled “Beautiful That Way.

Three months after its debut at the Sundance Film Festival, “Kiss of the Spider Woman” is finally nearing a distribution deal. Roadside Attractions, Lionsgate and Ld Entertainment are in final talks to take domestic rights on director Bill Condon’s adaptation of the stage musical of the same name, ensuring the Jennifer Lopez-starring drama will see the light of day, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap.

Terms of the deal, including release plans and financial figures, were not disclosed.

Deadline reports that Anderson has joined the project, with other cast members including Ellen Burstyn and What We Do In The Shadows star Taika Waititi. Variety has learned that Kiernan Shipka, Jack Farthing, Toheeb Jimoh, and Amy James-Kelly (“Three Families”) have all joined the upcoming fourth season of the HBO & BBC drama series.

They will appear alongside previously announced new cast member Max Minghella as well as returning cast Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Ken Leung, Sagar Radia, Kit Harington, and Miriam Petche.

Shipka will play Hayley Clay, described as an “executive assistant at payment processor Tender.” Farthing will play Edward Smith, said to be a “troublemaker and long-time friend of Henry’s (Harington).” Jimoh will appear as Kwabena Bannerman, a “trader at Mostyn Asset Management.” And James-Kelly will play Jennifer Bevan, a “newly promoted Minister in the Labour government.”

The fourth installment in the “Bridget Jones” franchise has now grossed $45.6 million, maintaining a solid lead over the competition and proving to be one of the year’s biggest hits so far.

Disney’s “Captain America: Brave New World” held onto second place with $1.8 million in its third weekend, pushing its cumulative total to $19.8 million.
