Mr. Johnson: Things will go wrong whether you're doing what you want to or not. For me, regrets have always been harder to live with than consequences.

A very select few shows makes me constantly giddy the way that "Abbott Elementary" does. I'm not entirely sure why, but it may just be that these characters are the kind of people that you just cannot help but love and want to follow through every day of their lives. It's easy to get invested in those characters, and there are a lot of storylines that have gained that investment from the audience, most importantly, the relationship between Janine and Gregory. This episode finally gives us some kind of payoff to that storyline amidst a pretty chaotic party that proved to be a great finale.
It's very strange to see these characters hang out outside of the school, but switching up the classrooms for Janine's small apartment might have been the right thing, because it gave the characters a chance to let loose a bit and shine a spotlight on their other more entertaining sides. It's always fun to see these characters together, but it's fun to see them partying and dancing and everything, while Janine is desperately trying to stick to her arrangements. I did miss the presence of the students a little bit, as they always add a bit of levity to the entire situation, but it's also nice to see the show do some different things. However, this episode is mostly dedicated to the aftermath of the last episode, and how Janine and Gregory are tackling it, which they are not tackling in the best way imaginable. They continue to have great chemistry, even when they try not to, and it's always awesome to see how cute Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams are whenever they share a scene. This is a relationship that a lot of people have been rooting for ever since they met in the first episode, and it's understandable that a lot of people have felt a little bit alienated by the fact that it has been so on-and-off for a while now. However, the payoff in this episode is satisfactory even though it may not go the way that a lot of people think. We'll ultimately have to wait and see.
"Party" was a nice ending to a pretty solid season and continues to show the incredible chemistry that these people have when they are together. The resolution to the season-long question we all had about Janine and Gregory fills a lot of the episode and it does conclude with a satisfying (at least for now) conclusion.
