I have waited for this movie since last year. Similar movies of mysteriously missing kids are not uncommon, but the majority of them do not belong to the action movie genre. Exterritorial is a combination of mystery, thriller and action in a balanced way.
Personally I chose to watch this movie tonight because of Jeanne Goursaud, as I can still remember her impressive performance in Barbians. I did expect a bit similar action and thriller from her and turned out that she is not disappointing. Brilliant combat scenes!
The first hour of the movie successfully kept me guessing whether Sara was a dellusional psychic or was it just another cover-up crime story. That was exactly what I wanted! And besides, the last 30 minutes was also marvellous. It explained the whole plot: why, why and why. All the explanations that make sense to me were revealed. I like the explanations, and I like that pace as well.
There is, however, no twist at the end of the story. Because of that I have deduced 1 star outta 10. It is quite easy to guess Sara's final trick. I did. And I expect many audiences did as well.
There are of course plenty of plot holes to be argue about. Deduced another 1 star outta 10. Nevertheless, I would say those plot holes are ok for any action movie. As long as it's not absurd and not too head in the cloud.
It is an entertaining movie. Jeanne Goursaud's acting is outstanding! So this movie shows that she is more than an action actress. She has the potential in psychological thriller movies, indeed.
Definitely would recommend it.
