- Teresa Lisbon: [at the crime scene] Hey, Jane. Care to offer your opinion?
- Patrick Jane: These ducks love muffins.
- Teresa Lisbon: [sarcastic] Very helpful.
- Wayne Rigsby: Hey, Cho, do you think I'm the marrying type?
- Kimball Cho: You proposed to your baby mama.
- Wayne Rigsby: Hmm. Yeah. Every kid deserves two parents. I was talking about Van Pelt.
- Kimball Cho: You knock her up, too?
- Wayne Rigsby: No.
- Kimball Cho: So why we talking about this?
- Wayne Rigsby: Well, you clearly missed the departmental memo. They changed the policy on office relationships. Don't have to lay low anymore.
- Kimball Cho: Hmm. Good for you.
- Wayne Rigsby: We could even get married if we wanted to.
- Kimball Cho: Ah.
- Wayne Rigsby: That's it? "Ah"?
- Kimball Cho: She wants to get married and you don't want to.
- Wayne Rigsby: No. Maybe. No. I don't know. What do you think I should do?
- Kimball Cho: You want to make it my fault?
- Wayne Rigsby: Okay, you're right. It's my call.
- Teresa Lisbon: [Jane has offered to officiate the wedding] You are not legally ordained.
- Patrick Jane: Yeah. I've never used it, but I always thought it was a handy thing to have.
- Teresa Lisbon: I don't believe you.
- Patrick Jane: I swear. I could marry you off in a minute.
- [to a passing CBI agent]
- Patrick Jane: Hey, Ron.
- [to Lisbon]
- Patrick Jane: Don't tempt me.
- Wayne Rigsby: Excuse me, ladies, and gentlemen, if I could have your attention for, uh, one second, please. I'd like to offer one more toast. I'd like to thank Stacy and Roberto for making me realize just how important it is to protect a dream.
- [the wedding guests applaud]
- Wayne Rigsby: I didn't protect my dream. To be honest, I, uh... well, I didn't know how. But what can you do when you meet the right person at the wrong time?
- Angel: Do her anyway!
- [laugher]
- Wayne Rigsby: Well, yeah, that works, for a while. But eventually, you say things, or don't say things.
- [approaching Van Pelt]
- Wayne Rigsby: You, uh... make more mistakes than you can count. And in the end... well, things fall apart.
- Grace Van Pelt: Is this your idea of a distraction?
- Wayne Rigsby: Just trust me. Now, if you're lucky, you might find each other again. But there's too much history and heartache to ever find your way back to that dream. At least that's what I thought. I'm hoping I was wrong.
- [he kneels down and presents an engagement ring]
- Wayne Rigsby: Grace... will you marry me?
- [Van Pelt is stunned]
- Wayne Rigsby: Well, say something. This is real.
- Grace Van Pelt: Yes, Wayne, of course I'll marry you.
- Wayne Rigsby: [waking up to find Van Pelt playing with Ben] Sorry he woke you.
- Grace Van Pelt: Oh, it wasn't him.
- Wayne Rigsby: Oh. Was I snoring again?
- Grace Van Pelt: I thought it was a low-flying jet.
- Patrick Jane: Lisbon. Good. We're going to Napa. You drive.
- Teresa Lisbon: [he hands her a sheet of paper] Homicide bulletins?
- Patrick Jane: Hot off the press. A John Doe in a duck pond awaits.
- Teresa Lisbon: Well, that sounds like a case for local authorities.
- Patrick Jane: Bingo.
- Teresa Lisbon: [realizing his ulterior motive] Napa. Okay, wait a minute. That's Sheriff McAllister's jurisdiction. You want to go and investigate a Red John suspect.
- Patrick Jane: Investigating is your thing. I'd just like to get to know him a little better. Shall we?
- Sheriff McAllister: Thought you were supposed to solve a crime, not destroy a wedding.
- Patrick Jane: I'd say the killer did that.
- Sheriff McAllister: I'm prepared to marvel at your insight. Who's the killer?
- Patrick Jane: Still working on it.
- Sheriff McAllister: Really? Surprised. I'd have thought you'd have 'em in cuffs by now.
- Patrick Jane: Oh, I'd hate to disappoint you.
- Sheriff McAllister: I see the cavalry has arrived.
- Teresa Lisbon: Sheriff McAllister.
- Sheriff McAllister: Agent Lisbon. What, uh... what brings your crack team to our little slice of heaven?
- Teresa Lisbon: Oh, you know. Any excuse to get up to wine country.
- Teresa Lisbon: What do you think?
- Patrick Jane: Well, he's not as dumb as he looks.
- Teresa Lisbon: Is he Red John?
- Patrick Jane: It's too early to say.
- Teresa Lisbon: How do we find out?
- Patrick Jane: I need to be alone with him.
- Teresa Lisbon: That would not be wise.
- Sheriff McAllister: What's cooking in here? Spot any clues?
- Patrick Jane: No. Well, just that hammer up there. You see it? Is that... is that blood on the hitting side?
- Sheriff McAllister: Let's have a look.
- [he moves closer to the ladder]
- Sheriff McAllister: Could be. I'll call forensics.
- [into his walkie-talkie as he leaves]
- Sheriff McAllister: Fellas? We need a little help...
- Teresa Lisbon: Did you see that? He did not want to go up that ladder. Didn't the psychiatrist's office say that Red John was afraid of heights?
- Patrick Jane: That's very astute, Lisbon. Well observed.
- Grace Van Pelt: I used to dream about having a Cinderella wedding.
- Wayne Rigsby: You did? You never said anything.
- Grace Van Pelt: Eh, it was a long time ago. I suppose it all seems silly now.
- Teresa Lisbon: [as a result of Jane's meddling, the bride has called off her wedding] Nice push.
- Patrick Jane: Eh, something good will come out of this. You'll see. Can we go back to Napa now?
- Teresa Lisbon: Please.
- Patrick Jane: Grace, I need your help. It is imperative that our young lovers go ahead with the wedding as planned.
- Grace Van Pelt: Good luck with that. You ruined a girl's wedding.
- Patrick Jane: Yes, and I lack the putty to spackle those emotional wounds. That's why I'm calling you.
- Grace Van Pelt: I have putty?
- Patrick Jane: No, you have life experience. Use it to convince the bride that her happily ever after begins tonight.
- Grace Van Pelt: [exasperated sigh] Really?
