While the conclusion of this episode is hilarious with the tonal disconnect between the narrator's final line and the ultra-hype "Hunting For Your Dream" outro, this is an appropriately melancholic and somber fallout to Uvo's requiem that left me feeling like Kurapika by the end of it: hollow. By the same token it's also rather apt in a way, as Kurapika is left fumbling for his life's purpose (hunting for a dream) by the episode's end.
In this episode Chrollo demonstrates his commitment to preparation and his seemingly infinite wisdom. His brilliant scheme to topple the mafia and steal everything up for auction is executed to perfection, and leads to an interesting open-ended conclusion to his bout with Silva and Zeno. It was very reminiscent of Colonel Mustang's plan to save Lieutenant Ross in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which is one of my favorite parts of the show. For the remainder of the episode we follow Kurapika on his journey through the stages of grief after a shocking revelation, and it's whole-heartedly devastating. His suffering is portrayed with such nuance it honestly made me shed a tear on my first watch. With this, a perfect 4-episode stretch of Hunter x Hunter comes to a close. Simply riveting, action-packed television from start to finish.
