After Miss Temple's tragic accident, she sends for Miss Marple, and tells her that she needs to ask them about Verity. Miss Marple's digging leads her closer to the truth, but also places her in real danger.
I could honestly watch this second episode over and over, the first part is outstanding, this second part is even better. I can think of no other Agatha Christie production that's as moving or as dramatic.
Some incredibly good moments throughout, first of all, that moment whwre The Professor speaks to Nora's mother, I don't mean to knock Liz Fraser, but I didn't know she could act like this, she is outstanding, very different from The Carry on films.
Best of all, that final encounter between Miss Marple and the killer, I won't unearth who they are for obvious reasons, but it's a spine chilling moment, with some of the best acting I have ever seen.
Incredible acting throughout, Hickson giving one of her best performances, matched by the brilliance of Margaret Tyzack, she's outstanding here.
Bruce Payne's transformation from Homeless person to aristocrat is one of the most dramatic changes I can think of in a TV show.
Super from start to finish.
10/10.
