At around 6:07, Dean gets a call from "Momma" but Hank picks up the call and greets the caller with "Bula vinaka, beach-side!". This means hello, thanks beach-side in Fiji and is from an old AT&T commercial from 1990 where a man calls a Fiji beach-side resort by mistake and the employee answers the phone with the same greeting. The phrase and commercial enjoyed short lived popularity and notoriety because the employee would say the greeting so fast, that it was hard to understand.
Hank first deceives his father with the talking teddy bear while attempting to torture him in "Every Which Way But Zeus."
The Native American patient throwing the drinking fountain at the window when everyone escaped was a reference "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975).
