So much fun. We need more like this!

Of the many bonus material from "Doubt", this one blows everything out of the water and this ten star review is not an exaggeration. Truly one of the greatest I've ever seen in a long time and perhaps the most authentic that I ever laid my eyes on. OK, it's not extraordinary like those extra materials from blockbuster flicks and their super visual effects curiosities, how everything was made but it holds a lot of great moments.

Simple is safe here. A basic interview with the main cast of "Doubt" Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Viola Davis, conducted by host Dave Karger simply asking the challenges of acting in the film version of the acclaimed play written by John Patrick Shanley (who also made the film). Duh or meh, you might think. Nope. It's not like any of those commercial like materials that seem awkward, forced and made to uplift everyone involved (even when later on, cast and crew are critical to the film they made); the cast of Doubt delivered plenty of amusing moments, the conversation went very easy, playful (Viola challenging Meryl was hilarious) and they reveal a lot about the process of playing the difficult parts each one had in that great adaptation and the reactions they expect from audiences (the interviewer dwells on the differences between theater audiences and film audiences, and Meryl provided a great insight on the topic).

Aboslutely loved this gathering, the actors had fun doing it, they were all spontaneous, even the quiet Amy Adams (but there's a good reason for it as she explains it), very graceful to each other. That's the kind of thing we need to see more on home releases: a simple panel, no scripts, let the actors be themselves and amazing things will happen. 10/10

P.S.: a little bittersweet because Phil is no longer with us. Such a beautiful talent, very respectful and professional to his co-stars as evidenced in this short film.
