It’s time to put on our detective hats again and step into the world of Sherlock Holmes again. Amazon MGM Studios has given the green light for a Young Sherlock series. The show will take a deep dive into the life of a 19-year-old Sherlock and his beginnings. Guy Ritchie will direct and executive produce the eight-episode series. Ritchie and Tiffin, who most recently collaborated on the film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, will be getting back together. Ritchie’s most recent endeavor is directing two previous Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes, Jude Law as Dr. Watson, and Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler.

Production is underway on horror-thriller film “Borderline,” shot in the U.K. and Malta.
Lucien Laviscount (“Emily in Paris”), Laura Marano (“The Royal Treatment”) and Middle Eastern star Cynthia Khalifeh (“8 Days”) lead a cast that also includes Jason Flemyng (“A Violent Man”).
Khalifeh will play Zena, a young woman who arrives at the Borderline pub for a date with the handsome Jack, whom she met on an app. Quickly realizing she has been stood up, Zena is persuaded to have a drink with the bumbling but charming local Paul, played by Laviscount. However, Paul’s non-threatening manner and easy conversation skills are merely a façade, and he is in fact a serial killer, who lures his victims inside the lawless walls of the Borderline.

Exclusive: Mamie Gummer (True Detective), Caitlin FitzGerald (Succession) and Candice King (The Vampire Diaries) are set as leads in We Were Liars, Prime Video’s series adaptation of E. Lockhart’s YA novel We Were Liars, which hails from Julie Plec, Carina Adly MacKenzie, Universal Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
This marks a reunion for King and Plec. King was a series regular on Tvd, co-created and executive produced by Plec, and recurred/guest starred on two offshoots created/executive produced by Plec, The Originals and Legacies, reprising her role as Caroline Forbes. MacKenzie also was a writer-producer on The Originals.
We Were Liars is a tragic love story and an amnesia thriller set on a privately owned island off the coast of Massachusetts. It centers on the wealthy, seemingly perfect Sinclair family, who spend every summer on their private island. Gummer, FitzGerald and King play the three Sinclair sisters.

Actor Idris Elba made his feature directorial debut with the 2018 crime drama Yardie, and earlier this year we heard that he would be following that up with an action thriller called Infernus. That movie was supposed to get started filming in October, but appears to have been disrupted by the strikes. So while we wait to hear what’s going to happen with Infernus, The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that Elba is teaming up with Martin Owen (The Loneliest Boy in the World) to co-direct a survival thriller called Above the Below… and this one is already in production!
Above the Below started filming last week at Pinewood Studios, using two separate stages – including the studio’s underwater stage. In addition to co-directing, Elba also stars in the movie alongside Caitlin FitzGerald (Masters of Sex) and Hero Fiennes Tiffin (the After franchise).
