A new Big Brother 26 episode arrived on Wednesday night.
This new installment was 90 minutes long, giving the producers extra time to cover the Power of Veto drama from Week 10.
Makensy Manbeck was the Head of Household this week; her first time in the power position.
Makensy had to decide her path as the Hoh after helping evict T’Kor Clottey the previous week.
A plan was hatched to target Angela Murray and send her to join Quinn Martin and T’Kor at the BB26 jury house.
Makensy nominated Angela and Kimo Apaka, but Kimo was told he would only be a pawn.
Big Brother 26, Episode 32 recap
The new episode began following the Nomination Ceremony. Many Diary Room sessions kicked off the episode.
Makensy spoke about needing to get Angela out after improving her resume again.
Kimo said he hated being a pawn again, especially sitting with Angela on the block.

It’s not always easy to find out which movies hit theaters each week, especially after the Hollywood strikes led to so many release date changes. With the WGA and actors’ strikes resolved and summer blockbusters rolling in, September is filled with both big-budget flicks and new indie releases.
Premiering Sept. 27 is Universal’s animated adventure “The Wild Robot,” which follows a hyper-intelligent android named Roz who must learn to thrive in the wilderness after being abandoned on an uninhabited island. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor and Bill Nighy.
Also on Friday, Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” arrives in theaters. Starring Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel and Aubrey Plaza, the sci-fi drama chronicles the ideological clash between a brilliant young architect and a corrupt politician as they plan for the future of their beloved city, New Rome.

The time has come for Francis Ford Coppola’s newest epic to hit screens. The early receptions for Megalopolis have been divided, with even our own Eic, Chris Bumbray, finding himself on the negative side of the reactions, stating in his review, “Indeed, I despise the fact that Megalopolis turned out to be such an unwieldy mess, as the last thing I wanted to do at this year’s TIFF was join the choir of Coppola haters – of which I’ll never be one, even if I didn’t like his movie.” Meanwhile, the most positive review may have come from Coppola himself as the director joined Letterboxd and gave Megalopolis five stars.

Francis Ford Coppola’s sci-fi epic “Megalopolis,” the director’s self-funded passion project, is tracking to a disappointing $5 million to $7 million box office debut.
The film, released by Lionsgate, is expected to play at 1,700 North American theaters in its opening weekend. A single-digit start would be underwhelming for a movie that cost above $100 million to produce.
Coppola has a lot riding on “Megalopolis” because the 85-year-old “Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now” director ended up independently financing the film for $120 million. After its Cannes Film Festival premiere, Lionsgate agreed to release and market the movie in exchange for a distribution fee.
“Megalopolis” is set in a futuristic America and follows an architect (Adam Driver) who clashes with the corrupt mayor (Giancarlo Esposito) in determining how to rebuild the metropolis of New Rome after a disaster. Reviews have been wildly divisive (it holds a 50% on Rotten Tomatoes), which could stoke interest in the film.

The new arrivals on the box office marquee this weekend make for an unusual recipe, if not a spicy one.
The safest and most traditional ingredient is DreamWorks Animaton and Universal’s family film The Wild Robot, based on Peter Brown’s beloved best-seller about a robot nicknamed Roz who forms an unexpected bond with an orphaned gosling and other creatures after being shipwrecked on a lonely island.
The critically acclaimed CGI-animated film is tracking to open in the $24 million range domestically, although more bullish forecasters believe it could easily fly past $30 million. But it’s understandable why the filmmakers are trying to temper expectations and suggest $20 million-plus after last weekend’s Transformers One, another animated PG-rated pic, came in $5 million behind tracking with a $24.6 million domestic launch.

For the second weekend in a row, we get an animated feature featuring robots for family audiences, but this week also gets a lot of odds and ends. As has been the case for the past few months, any weekend with just one or two wide releases is then followed by a weekend with way too many movies, and this weekend seems to be one of the latter. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
The big release of the weekend is “The Wild Robot,” the latest from DreamWorks Animation, based on book by Pete Brown. It stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as a server robot stranded in the wilderness who ends up becoming imprinted on by a baby gosling, having to figure out how to care for it with the help of a crafty fox, voiced by Pedro Pascal. Nick Frost is a major part of "Shaun of the Dead" which is, without question, one of the greatest horror-comedy films in history. While we impatiently await Frost's reunion with director Edgar Wright and co-star Simon Pegg, it should delight viewers to know that he is back in the genre with "Get Away." It should also delight you, dear reader, to know that the movie is a great deal of fun -- but it all relies on avoiding spoilers. You've been warned.
I recently had the good fortune of seeing the film at this year's Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. While I can't rightfully say it was the best movie I saw at the Fest this year -- that honor goes to "The Wild Robot" -- it is the one that gave me the biggest "i didn't see that coming" moment, which left me grinning and chuckling in delight.

Every so often, we encounter an animated film that pulls at the heartstrings and immerses the audience in animation that reminds us of the magic of movies. That film is The Wild Robot, a big, beautiful, animated family film that may be passed down from generation to generation as an enduring classic.
The Wild Robot is a gorgeous film with nearly universal themes regarding becoming a parent. The film addresses themes of sacrifice, protection, identity, transformation, and a little thing called unconditional love that will fill your heart and maybe even bring a tear to your eyes.
At least, it did for me.

The Wild Robot is written and directed by Chris Sanders, whose credits include three films that were all nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards: Lilo & Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon, and The Croods. That reputation was one of the reasons why Lupita Nyong’o signed on to voice the title character in The Wild Robot, but it also gave her a little bit of anxiety. Since she’s done voice work in the past (for three Star Wars movies and The Jungle Book), she approached the recording process with some questions and ideas of her own, and she wasn’t sure how a veteran animation director like Sanders would respond. More family films hitting cinemas this weekend with DreamWorks Animation/Universal’s feature take of Peter Brown’s New York Times bestseller, The Wild Robot, however, unlike Paramount/Hasbro’s Transformers One last weekend, this one is mom/female leaning. Opening weekend at 3,900 theaters is pegged at $20M+.
That’s around the average start for an animated major studio movie in September and not that far from where we saw Transformers One last weekend with $24.6M. Also keep in mind that it’s original animation, and that’s always a lower bar start than established feature cartoons.
Wild Robot will have the vast majority of premium screens with 380 Imax hubs with all showtimes up to primetime. After that time, Lionsgate’s Megalopolis from Francis Ford Coppola will have evening Imax showtimes in key metropolitan locations, repping around 200 of its 1,700 theater count. Plot: Based on the novels by Peter Brown, The Wild Robot tells the story of Rozzum Unit 7134, or Roz for short, a highly advanced, multipurpose automaton that washes ashore on a remote island teeming with wildlife. Programmed to assist in any task within her ability, Roz searches for a directive amidst the lush forest, tributaries, and craggy mountainsides. While exploring, Roz accidentally crushes a nest of gosling eggs, with only the runt of the gaggle surviving the unintentional destruction. Unsure of what to do, Roz assumes a motherly role and acts as the gosling’s caregiver until he can eat, swim, and fly alone. Considered outcasts on the island, Roz and the gosling struggle to win the approval of the local wildlife but eventually become something much greater than anyone expected.

Paramount’s latest Transformers movie, an animated prequel called Transformers One, has struggled at the box office despite positive reviews. The film debuted with $24.6 million in its first weekend, below projections of $30-35 million.
Instead, another animated movie called Beetlejuice Beetlejuice topped the box office with $25.9 million in its third week. Industry insiders are surprised by Transformers One’s weak opening as it has a 98% score from audiences and stellar reviews from critics.
The film explores the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron on their home planet of Cybertron. Josh Cooley directed the $75 million film, which uses animation to depict Cybertron more affordably than live-action. Voices include Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry.
While reviews praised Transformers One, box office data show some potential issues. Only 24% of its audience was aged 18-24, key for past Transformers films, compared to 40% for last year’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

The final box office fate of Paramount/Hasbro’s animated film “Transformers One” was never going to be written on opening weekend. But after a soft $25 million domestic start, now it’s up in the air whether this origin tale for Optimus Prime and Megatron will strike a chord with moviegoers who aren’t already fans of the ’80s franchise.
Hitting theaters a year after the solid theatrical run of Paramount’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,” “Transformers One” is part of a broader effort by the studio to build its name among families and general audiences alike as a major player in the theatrical animation space.
The Melrose studio, which earned a respectable $844 million in North America in 2023 but saw its theatrical revenues plummet 40% last quarter to $138 million amid strike-related delays that pushed “Mission: Impossible 8” to 2025, is using top IP like “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “SpongeBob...

The Chinese box office has continued to struggle despite efforts to boost ticket sales during recent holidays. According to data from Artisan Gateway, a consulting firm, China saw its third lowest weekend sales this year from September 23rd to 25th, with only $25.1 million in ticket revenue.
This sluggish performance followed disappointing Mid-Autumn Festival results from September 14th to 17th. Total Chinese box office receipts during this period were approximately $55.2 million—less than half of the $103 million generated in 2019. Data from China’s National Film Administration showed a clear decline in both festival viewing sessions and ticket revenue compared to previous years.
Some films have found success despite economic headwinds. “Stand by Me,” a drama about orphaned children, held onto the number one spot for a second weekend with $5.4 million in additional sales. Its total revenue has reached $29.2 million since opening September 13th. In second place, the drama “Like a Rolling...

Chinese-produced drama film “Stand by Me” held on to top spot at the mainland China box office. Dreamworks Animation’s “The Wild Robot” enjoyed a modest third-place debut.
After an almost imperceptible uplift provided a week earlier by the Mid Autumn Festival, mainland China’s theatrical business extended the slump that it has been in since the second quarter.
Weekend box office, in the country with a population of 1.3 billion, and some 90,000 cinema screens in commercial operation, amounted to just $25.1 million between Friday and Sunday, according to data from consultancy firm Artisan Gateway. That was the third lowest weekend figure this year.
The Mid-Autumn Festival box office totaled RMB389 million ($55.2 million) between Sept. 14 -17, according to the National Film Administration. That was less than half of the RMB803 million recorded at the same time of year in 2019. Chinese films accounted for an 85% market share. “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” (Warner Bros.) is #1 for an unexpected third week. Its $26 million gross (down 49 percent) met projections for a domestic total of $227 million. But Paramount’s animated “Transformers One,” with an anticipated opening of $30 million or over, fell short at $25 million.
Two films producing over $50 million means a not-bad September weekend of $82 million in U.S./Canada, a 51 percent improvement over last year. Year to date remains steady, about 12 percent lower.
The top 10 also saw three other new releases, along with some decent holds. Though horror title “Never Let Go” (Lionsgate) did best at #4 with $4.5 million, Coralie Fargeat’s “The Substance” (Mubi) and K-Pop music documentary “Jung Kook: I Am Still” (Trafalagar) showed life as niche entries.
“Transformers One” had several strengths going in: a lack of new family/animated titles, a variation on a popular franchise, and a surprisingly strong A Cinemascore (critical response was mildly favorable). What it lacked was girl appeal,...

Updated: Paramount/Hasbro Entertainment’s Transformers One is out of the gate with a $39M global start. From just 50 international box office markets (representing only 40% of the overseas footprint), the first animated Transformers movie in close to 40 years grossed $14M.
The Josh Cooley-directed origins story came in below projections domestically and international is off to a softer start than hoped.
While there are still major markets to come including Brazil, Italy, Korea, China, Germany, UK and France, it’s still a bit of a head-scratcher that the offshore opening wasn’t bigger given reviews, word of mouth and how much perceived anticipation there has been for the movie. A work-in-progress screening at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival had the room on its feet in June. Industry estimates for the weekend had Paramount’s Transformers One, the critically acclaimed animated prequel, easily winning the weekend box office race with about $40 million. In our box office predictions, we were somewhat more conservative, expecting the animated pic to earn about $30 million. Yet, in a surprise twist of fate at the weekend box office, the film underperformed pretty drastically, allowing Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice to win the box office crown for the third week in a row, with the hit sequel making $26 million compared to Transformers One’s $25 million.
So what happened? It could be that audiences have just grown weary of the Transformers franchise, which has been on a downslide at the box office since back in 2017 when Transformers: The Last Knight earned about half what the previous instalment, Age of Extinction, did domestically. Since then, none of the Transformers movies have performed all that well domestically,...

Anyone who follows the box office regularly knows that sometimes, things don’t go exactly as planned or predicted, and that’s what happened this weekend. Read on for the weekend box office report.
It was thought that Paramount Pictures’ “Transformers One,” the first fully animated “Transformers” feature film since 1986, would do well enough opening weekend to potentially best “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” in its third weekend, but things ended up being much closer than expected.
As of this writing and based on Sunday estimates, it’s a close race between the two movies but “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is estimated to win its third weekend with $26 million, down 49% but still remaining in first place, having just crossed the $200 million mark on Thursday. Including this weekend, the Tim Burton–Michael Keaton sequel has grossed $226.8 million domestically.

Universal and DreamWorks Animation’s “The Wild Robot” took flight at the international box office with $6.85 million from eight markets.
Top markets were China with $4 million and Australia with $1.9 million. The film, a sci-fi survival story about a robot that’s marooned on an uninhabited island, will roll out in North America and several other international territories on Sept. 27. Since reviews have been enthusiastic, “The Wild Robot” could become a surprise box office force. Lupita Nyong’o voices the isolated android called Rozzum unit 7134, who goes by Roz and learns to adapt to the harsh surroundings by gradually building relationships with other animals.
Another animated offering, Paramount and Hasbro’s “Transformers One,” stumbled with $14 million while debuting in 50 international markets. It earned just double that of “The Wild Robot” despite having six times the footprint. “Transformers One” had the biggest start in Mexico with $2.2 million followed by Australia with $1.5 million, Japan...

Warner Bros.’ “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is set to pull off an upset at the box office by snagging its third No. 1 weekend from an underperforming “Transformers One.”
The Tim Burton sequel is earning an estimated $26 million in its third weekend to bring its domestic total to $226 million, having passed the domestic run of fellow 2024 Warner release “Godzilla x Kong” back on Thursday.
“Transformers One,” meanwhile, is opening to a lower-than-projected $25 million from 3,978 theaters despite strong reviews from critics and audiences. The $75 million animated film from Paramount and Hasbro was projected for a $30 million start, with some independent projections having it matching the $33.7 million opening of Paramount’s summer family film “If.”
“If” legged out to a respectable $111 million domestic theatrical run, and Paramount will be hoping for similar legs for “Transformers One” given its excellent reception, including an A on CinemaScore, 5/5 on PostTrak, and Rotten Tomatoes scores of 89% critics and 98% audience.

Optimus Prime and Megatron put up a fight, but in the end, the robots were no match for everyone’s favorite bio-exorcist.
After an unusually close box office race, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” emerged victorious over newcomer “Transformers One” to retain the No. 1 spot for three consecutive weekends. The spooky Warner Bros. sequel added a strong $26 million from 4,172 theaters, bringing its tally to $225 million domestically and $329.7 million globally.
Meanwhile, “Transformers One” kicked off behind expectations with $25 million from 3,978 venues. It’s a meager start for Paramount and Hasbro’s animated movie, which cost $75 million and was targeting a start of $30 million to $40 million. In a surprise twist, the bots got squeezed out by Beetlejuice Beetlejuice at the weekend box office.
Paramount and Hasbro Entertainment’s Transformers One was expected to open to at least $30 million to $35 million in North America, more than enough to top the chart. Instead, it came in at an an estimated $25 million from 3,978 theaters versus an estimated $26 million from 4,172 locations for Warner Bros.’ Beetlejuice sequel, which is now in is third weekend.
Transformers One had held a slight edge as of Saturday morning, but the necessary traffic needed to eke out a victory didn’t materialize.
The unwelcome news comes despite glowing reviews, awards buzz, an A CinemaScore and exceptional PostTrak exit scores, but Paramount and Hasbro always knew they were taking a risk by returning to the franchise’s roots and making a CGI-animated film with a family-friendly PG rating, versus a PG-13 live-action extravaganza targeting fanboys. Every so often a movie comes along that manages to defy already high expectations. Ever since critics first started getting a glimpse of DreamWorks' "The Wild Robot," it has generated that effusive level of enthusiasm that seems destined to disappoint the average viewer. It happens often and it's just the nature of the hype machine around big movies. Well, I am here to say with the utmost confidence that "The Wild Robot" is one of the exceptionally rare movies that not only lives up to the sky-high bar set by the hype machine -- it exceeds those expectations.
"The Wild Robot" follows a robot named Rozzum unit 7134, aka "Roz." She is shipwrecked on an island that's uninhabited by humans, but rich with animal life. While Roz is equipped to handle just about everything humanity can throw at her, she's not at all prepared for everything the animal kingdom has in store.

“Transformers One” doesn’t seem primed for a breakout start after earning $9.56 million from 3,978 locations across Friday and preview screenings. That puts the animated prequel, co-produced by Paramount Animation and Hasbro Entertainment, on track for a $26.3 million opening weekend in North America, pacing behind industry projections for a $30 million-plus debut.
Those domestic numbers don’t qualify as a definitive nonstarter for the Paramount release, which was produced at a $75 million budget — a smaller price tag than is typical for a studio animated feature, or a live-action “Transformers” entry for that matter. Moreover, this franchise has proven to be more appealing to international audiences, especially in recent years. But it’s difficult to imagine that there weren’t hopes for a bigger opening to put some more space between “Transformers One” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” which, in its third weekend, is still a contender to lead the charts.

Paramount/Hasbro Entertainment’s “Transformers One” is looking to keep the September momentum going at the box office, earning $3.36 million from Thursday preview and advance fan screenings as it expands to 3,978 domestic locations today.
That result is just slightly below the $3.8 million preview total of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,” which opened in August 2023 to $28 million. But it does top the $1.75 million preview total of Paramount’s family film “If,” which opened to $33 million last May. “Transformers One” is expected to do slightly better with a $30-34 million start.
Reviews for the film have been strong, carrying an 85% Rotten Tomatoes score that is second only to the 2018 film “Bumblebee” for the highest scoring “Transformers” film ever. Paramount is hoping that such strong word-of-mouth will bring in casual fans of the franchise over the coming weeks, even with competition from DreamWorks’ “The Wild Robot” coming next week.

Fantastic Fest 2024 kicked off in Austin last night, which also means, more or less, that horror movie season has officially started. So what indie and foreign horror flicks will grab the festival audience’s attention this year? One frontrunner there is “Daddy’s Head,” the sophomore feature from English director Benjamin Barfoot.
Read More: Fantastic Fest 2024 Lineup Includes ‘Never Let Go,’ ‘The Wild Robot,’ ‘Teacup,’ ‘Ebony And Ivory’
“Daddy’s Home” is a departure in genre for the self-taught Barfoot, his first horror film after splashing onto the British indie cinema scene with his 2017 directorial debut “Double Date.” But the set-up for the film sounds like one honed by a horror regular: a young boy grieving for his recently deceased father discovers his house is haunted …by a creature with eerie similarities to his Dad.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has dominated the box office the last two weekends, emerging as one of the year’s biggest blockbusters. However, its reign at the top of the box office heap seems bound to (maybe) end this weekend with the release of Paramount’s Transformers One. This animated prequel has to overcome the fact that some degree of franchise fatigue has started to set in, with Bumblebee, Transformers: The Last Knight and Rise of the Beasts all struggling to break even at the domestic box office, even if internationally, the grosses remain strong.
What makes Transformers One different is that this is a departure from live-action, with it being the first animated movie in the franchise since 1986’s Transformers: The Movie. The estimates for the film are relatively weak, with only a $30 million (or so) weekend looking likely. I personally loved the film (check out my review) and even got quoted in the final trailer.

Pixar seems to have dominated the animation conversation lately, and yes, the studio has a style all its own that is certainly worth celebrating. But DreamWorks is back in the discussion with a new film, The Wild Robot. While the animation is done with computers, as is the industry standard these days, Catherine O’Hara — who voices the character Pinktail in the film — says she was amazed by how the finished product looks, because it looks like it was done the old-fashioned way. Ready to meet “Dog Man?”
The new DreamWorks Animation film, based on the character created by Dav Pilkey in the “Captain Underpants” books, is nearly here. And you can watch the trailer for the film, which stars Pete Davidson, Lil Rel Howery, Isla Fisher and Ricky Gervais, below, followed by our interview with the film’s director, Peter Hastings.
The trailer highlights the film’s unique visual style, which Hastings described as “high-end handmade” before breaking down his team’s approach to bringing “Dog Man” to life.
Hastings is no stranger to the property; he did a “Captain Underpants” television series and developed a relationship with Pilkey. Hastings told TheWrap the movie is “really about a cop and a dog who get into an accident, and the way that they solve this problem is by sewing the dog’s head onto the man’s body, which sounds crazy and preposterous.
